I concur on the lie. Ebuehi has always put in a MotM performance each time he’s been given a chance to play. But for some reasons, Rohr barely uses him. Strange angry

Acecards:
Koulibaly, Mendy for Senegal

Mendy is very good but not yet a world class GK I think

Maybe with this his good performance in the next 2 seasons he should

And aina has not been fantastic there
Haven't said that though

But for preference, Awaziem cuts it for me. Afterall he benched Aina in the last game in his preferred RB position.

Awaziem has good passes, crosses and defends excellently. He has the eyes of an eagle and the ruggedness of a lion.

OK, name a game that he’s performed poorly? The guy is solid and very technically astute but, as Subzero indicated, he has been unlucky with injuries.

Some peeps here have not even watch Senegal nor Morocco play. They will just come online trashtalking. Senegal cannot transition play without Mane. Their attack is non existent without Mane. The midfield lacks attacking quality. Diatta, Koyatte, Geuye, Sarr, Sarr (Metz) and Mane. What's world class here except Mane and why should SE be afraid of this average team?

Rohr is just the issue....if Semi Ajayi joined Real Madrid today,Rohr would hand over starting shirt to him but Westerhoff would tell you that Semi is not better than Balogun despite playing for madrid.....Westerhoff knew that Samson Siasia was not that lucky when it comes to club career but far better than Richard Owubokiri and Mike Obiku.

Imagine starting below average Collins who just returned from injury over Aina during Afcon but some will cite Aina performance against Cameroon but would Collins have done better?NO and funny enough the same Collins lost to Sanusi just cos he signed for Porto, till today I don't know difference between Sanusi and Collins.

During Westerhoff days you need to prove yourself that you can do it.I remember Tijani a Europe based could not bench local boy Finidi George...Ikpeba find it difficult to bench Africa based Amuneke.
Better coach who made himself - his belief, his ideas, his philosophy the first point of reference and not your club or status. That's the measure of a man who has faith in himself. If you lack faith as a coach you will depend on externalities like the status of the club your player plays for to determine whether you will win or lose.

Westehof: I believe in myself. So regardless of the club you play for, I know I can win with this team

Rohr:I don't believe in myself. I don't have players who play in Real Madrid or Barcelona. I can only manage. My team is young. I can only win if I have players in Man U, PSG, Barca, Liverpool.

People do not even know that at the time Rashidi was tearing net for Nigeria he moved from Julius Berger to National in Ivory coast and then to Setubal which was just a fairly decent club.

Wow

I didnt say he was better, but from the game he played (reverse leg) was far more purposeful than the Aina that played against CAR.

Make of that what you wish to with that.

That Zapacosta benched Moses during his time at Chelsea, does that make him a better player preference on that position than Moses?

I didn't see this post before I posted mine....lol

If you assess Aina critically and take away those overlapping he frequently does you will realize he is way underneath Awaziem when it come to game reading and defense duties. Awaziem is being talked down on because he is a Nigerian with limited opportunities , unlike the English boys like Aina , Abraham , Tomori etc
But they are not playing the same position na. Is Awaziem not a central defender who make shifts as a RB?

You too dey overhype Westhorf! The 1994 SE you are praising struggled to beat Ivory Coast at that AFCON. Were outplayed by Zambia in the final. The Zambian had several chances to equalize even struck the post.
Against Bulgaria, imagine if Stiockov free kick goal was not disqualified. They were outplayed and outclassed by a 10 man Italian team!

For someone with so much unvarnished prejudice against anything foreign, how come you are in the same foreign land and not here in Nigeria?

Since you brought up man of the match performance then changed to top 3 performer ?

Aina was not the worst player against Benin ,that one is your own narrative and the funny thing be say Na your pocket e go end

A game the eagles picked 6 points home and away but you Dey find worst performer and Na aina be the worst ,who assisted osimhen goal In the 2-1 win ?

The other one we won 1-0 with a late goal from onuachu so where was aina worst performing comming from when it was onuachu that saved the game and the team where struggling that day

When I say rest you no hear grin

You are so clueless

There are several other Euro, Asian, plus US and Canada on the list.

Italy struggled to beat Switzerland at the Euros. Bottom line is that they won. Battle has been fought and won, you are talking of shoulda, coulda been. Say something else abeg. All that you wrote rest are mere footnotes to the victory that attaches to his name and the fact that that same team was ranked number 5.

26 years on, we have not even peaked up to number 10 in FIFA ranking. Hype you say? Naaa, the results speak for themselves.

And you are damn wrong to say they were outplayed and outclassed. According to you we escaped Zambia but Italy outclassed us. Italy that escaped by the teeth of their skin!
As if Rohr would not have even capitulated to play an Italian side creaming with talents like Maldini, Baggio, Baresi, Conte, Zola.

If he is choosing VPN, he should select Italian IP to be able to watch it on fifa YouTube
