Most people aren't leaving the country because they want to live like kings or gods. Most people leave coz they want sanity. You may think moving about with police escort is cool, but guess what? People leave the country coz they want to feel safe without needing police escort. And you think getting away with anything coz you have the money is ideal, shame on you. Pigs like you is the reason people leave the country.
Trust me I know how to trade words, but I won’t trade words with you cos I understand your frustrations. I used to be like you. It’s only people that haven’t made money that will say money isn’t everything.

Nothing sweet pass being a rich and wealthy man in Lagos or any other part of Nigeria.

It's only poor people that denigrate this great country and they think going abroad is a sure escape route from poverty...

I basically own and control the police station in my locality, the OC debriefs me regularly on security situation in my area.

I have white people work for me from all around the globe and they get paid as at when due.

I can't even count how many duplexes and mansions that I own.

I travel to any country without visa because I have countless CBI passports.

I live like a king and general even as a fvcking civilian.

The only social media I use is nairaland and I am a ghost on other social networks.

I love my country Nigeria, I die here!
Nonsense. Heart attack takes less than 10mins to kill. No emergency services will get to u in Naija. Do you also have fire service station in ur house.
Btw, covid19 grounded and killed GMB cabals with bigger connect and pocket...Naija has less than 100 ventilators

True. Language was my first culture shock. I couldn’t believe that I’d see myself in a place where no one spoke fluent English. I didn’t understand anything. Not even the signs. I literally had to use google translate for everything. I had no choice. Now the culture no longer shocks me.

How did you cope? Jobwise? Cos I intend moving to Austria for studies. So I am concern about getting jobs in time to sustain.

I think we should understand some basic terminologies here:

*Cultural shock is more of the sharp contrast in the way of life of a host country vs that of a stranger. These include such things as dressing styles, family life, marriage systems, food and eating patterns, language & communication styles, finance and spending, housing & architecture, health & healthcare systems transportation etc... All these fall under Human geography and Anthropology.
Cultural shocks have nothing to do with Nature or Physical geography, because cultures are creations of humans!

So, the story in content here and the heading run parallel.

And, this is not about Time Zone per se.. It is more of the effects of the intersection of longitude and latitudinal ranges as well as the effects of Earth's revolution (climate dynamics)

As you drift toward the poles, the sun's heat become less intense but it's light more sustained during Autumn/Spring. But the opposite obtains during winter. Summer is a bit a-mimic of tropical climates.

So, the heading should read something like "Climatic shock..."

Your validation isn't need, do with it what you will. There's a difference between preference and outright irresponsibility. If you also think you can take advantage of the woes of Nigeria, Opperess people and get away with it coz you have the money, then you are a pig too.

There are part time student jobs. I remember that then I worked in a restaurant to sustain myself. I also did babysitting sometimes. I have a friend who worked in a car garage. Some worked in the school. I have another friend who worked in a packaging company. There are many options for English speaking people. You just have to be ready to work.
