I don’t see any argument here,if you ever use both Honda and Toyota you will see a very clear different
I used Honda baby boy,HOD and evil spirit, they are all useless cars, always suffers electrical problem, gear problem, engine problem and several other problem and worst of all broken leg as my friends call it
If the water inside your Honda car sudden finish or your Engine oil is low,you are in trouble, you may need to buy another engine
Anyway if you like yourself avoid Honda like plague,Infact people are not even buying it like before

I usually avoid threads like this, filled with "beer parlor" information from ignorant and uninformed people, but I have time this morning, na bank holiday here.

Sometimes e good to apply common sense to everything in life first.

Toyota is overwhelmingly the most popular automaker in much of Nigeria, except for pockets in the North where its often neck and neck with or beaten by Honda, Peugeot, etc.

Applying common sense to this fact, which brand engines you feel say go full market?

If 6 of 10 vehicles on the roads are Toyota vehicles, would you expect to go to an auto parts market and 6 of 10 engines would be Honda engines? Common sense.

If 6 of 10 people own toyotas, knowing Nigerians are generally bad at vehicle maintenance, which model you feel say people go find their spare parts more? Common sense

Are Toyotas perfect? Definitely not. Specific models have specific issues. But una no dey ever tire for this "Toyotas are light" or "Toyotas are easily stolen", among several other ignorant and unsubstantiated statements?

Toyotas are in high demand all over the world. It is not a Nigerian phenomenon. The Corolla is the best selling passenger sedan worldwide for a reason, and the people that came up with that conclusion did not even factor Nigeria into their research, because how many people dey buy car brand new for Nigeria?

If toyotas are in such high demand and command relatively high prices compared to similar models in the same class, which models do you think thieves would target?

Thief wey steal Honda Civic, how much you feel say im go sell am for?

Third wey vandalize Honda Accord parts like ECU, window switches, Entertainment system, how much e go sell am for?

Why that thief no go target Toyota instead?

Common sense.

Whenever you wan claim say Toyotas dey light, get online and find the gross weight of the model, and compare it with the gross weight of a similar non-Toyota in the same category. You may find that the Toyota may be lighter or heavier than the other model. The point is, enlighten yourself with facts, not what Monsuru mechanic said after 6 bottles.

If person begin analyse all the ignorance fueled information on this page, e go be full time job, I already have one of those, so I no do.

If after this, common sense still no wan enter your head, my brother or sister, carry go.

This guy's advice is your take unless you're born a dullard and raised as one . I had wanted to post and refer you to to Google where I read recently about Toyota as being number one in the world in their category , all their brands. I don’t know why people come to this beer parlour, called Nairaland, located in the jungle to seek advice. The story is accurate Honda make the best engine, their parts are cheap, no theft issues, the only edge Toyota have over Honda is their transmission Honda uses cvt wish has an history of breaking down on time, but with consistency they have been able to perfect it, the perfection is what you get when you buy the Honda Accord 2013 version. Or the civic series. For personal experience I have used Honda/Toyota/Nissan Honda still remains my number one choice. Toyota is an expensive shit show of a car. Let not talk about Nissan Keke maruwa better pass am

If truly they make better engine then why is it the Toyota sells more cars? undecided
a lot of reasons sir,Toyota makes more cars farrrrrrr more cars than Honda, what it mean if Honda produces or manufactures 500k unit of car in a year, trust me Toyota will produce over 1.5M,secondly Toyota has bigger coverage around car classes, example SUV,sedan, trucks, mini vans etc,Honda does not have an answer (rival to every class of car Toyota makes),Toyota has high reliability ratings which in most cases Honda competes with but Toyota has a slight edge in that dept, mind you we are talking about engines, trust me in that area is Honda hands down,Pls try and do some research on internal combustion engine and the best in that area, let me also remind you Honda does NOT manufacture cars before, they are specialist in engine production before then ventured in to car manufacturing, also do some research on that, reasons why they remain the biggest engine manufacturers on earth till date, they make engines for speed boats, cruise boats, aeroplane, cars, and some F1 cars you see around.

Let me park my TATA indigo here 4 d Vawulence grin

Honda is a worldwide engine manufacturer from cars to boats to airplanes. Their engines are very good but Toyota cannot be relegated to the background too because their hybrid synergy drive engine is top in the world, everybody's favorite.

Now let the challenge begin
Honda 2.4L k series vs toyota 2.4L 2azfe. Here the honda beats the toyota in reliability, power and overall usage. The honda k series has less complaints than the 2azfe popular competition Honda accord vs toyota camry

Honda J series 3.0L to 3.7L vs toyota Mz/2gr series. Here the J series did well but has some issues in some model like the EOD and DC 3.0L V6 was plagued with some issues but the J series.is still solid starting from the Honda legend of the 1990s to the brutal power coming out from the RL and other powerful sedans.

The 1mzfe 3.0L, 3mzfe 3.3L to the 2grfe 3.5L were very okay but some error in the design of the 2gr seen as oil cooler line collapse without engine shutdown with low oil, the 1mzfe was plagued with oil burn in sienna and.lexus Rx300 though not as pronounced as the 2azfe, the 3.3L was the best but if the timing belt cut in motion grin

Honda is a very good engine manufacturer but toyota too also try. Respect to the Toyota UZ C8 engines

All this are needless stories to confound and confuse . Go to Google and search..Toyota is rated as the best in the world in their various categories , by American autoraters. Honda is not even in the picture at all. Go and search in Google and confirm. No arguments.

I have used different car brands: Honda, Nissan, Peugeot and Toyota.
My conclusion: if you want peace of mind, go for a Toyota product.

The rule on cars is the cheaper the car, the costlier the maintenance and vice versa.

The only drawback in Honda cars is just the legs which they have rectified from 0/12 upwards.
I tot it's the 08 upwards that has been rectified. So as years goes up you will now tell us it's 0/18 upwards that has been fixed. Honda is for I'll advised fellows..will I eat the interior? My guy that got EOD few months ago, even with all the intimating allows and freezing ac he still sold it a d got a big daddy. Toyota might be rugged than Honda a little bit but Honda spare parts are cheap and affordable compared to Toyota.

That's what the topic says cheesy, for the fact that it is widely believed that Honda makes the better engine doesn't mean Toyota engine are not great, Toyota also makes some of the BEST engine around... WO this Toyota vs Honda rivalry is tiring jor, some of us that are fortunate to have both brands,we de enjoy both in peace, what A is lacking B will compliment it. grin
