I went to a Wema bank branch yesterday to withdraw from my Domicillary account, but i was told they have stopped giving dollars. I wanted to make transfer and they said that was also impossible.

Who else is facing this challenge?

Note i still was able to withdraw last week. Could this be from CBN?

Zenith bank still gives dollar...I suggest you maybe visit a head office of Wema bank around you

That is laughable. Highly ridiculous. I can still tell you that; it is either your branch has an issue or something is wrong with Wema bank. Why won't they give you access to your account. Try to make an official report. If the branch said they don't have USD, that is acceptable but also denying you transfer is highly ridiculous.

Try to find an importer that needs USD, agree terms wity each other and then submit form m

This government no get sense at all

Restricting dollars , while it makes things harder for people, and is not a solution to our problem...is the reason why one dollar is not equal to N2500 naira today.

Meaning that they offered to give you the naira equivalent at CBN rate?

And did you pay in dollars (cash) or was it "inflow"?

Does this apply to "inflow" to or just cash deposit?

baba are u using wema bank? Abi u want me to send u screenshot? Wema dollar card had been down for over 2 weeks now. I have to go to the bank for transactions and right now they are saying they cannot do it. And no withdrawal over the counter. Abeg dont tell me about a problem i am passing through.
I just want to know if other banks have this problem i dont need you to tell me what my own bank is doing.

Since they started giving PTA of $2k instead of $4k, we should have known they are having challenges.

Do they have limits on deposits? Why are our banks so useless? I'm wondering why Emefiele hasn't been relieved of his position.

Banks have not stopped. My friend got after two days with fidelity bank. He needed to globetrot the fidelity branches in Abuja to find one that paid him.

Worthless banks. If a big politician comes and needs a large amount they will have to give him.
What a country called Nigeria.

Those that don't operate a Dom account won't appreciate this thread.

I have been trying to withdraw money from my First Bank Dom account for some while now but has been unable to do it. The cashier usually tells me that there is no funds available whenever I visit their branch. It's really painful for someone to have money in an account and yet, unable to withdraw it.

2wks ago, I had $250 in my fidelity bank Dom account so I decided to take advantage of the hike in dollars then to withdraw and sell it to aboki. I went to the only two fidelity bank branches in my state and they both claimed they don't have dollar in cash to give me. I later sha narrated to a friend my ordeal who told me that if I want, he can link me with a staff in one of the same Fidelity Bank I was told dollar no dey and that I'll be paid the $250 cash instantly if I'll agree to grease palms. I played along and got my $250 given to me after giving N12k bribe. Smh

There has been a severe shortage of dollars in circulation.

CBN is also not releasing dollars to banks for OTC payments

This started around April and now, most bank reserves are completely depleted.

It is not really a function of branch/bank, na national breakfast

Nigeria is not making enough dollars.

Of the dollars we make, most of it goes to pay off our debts, or to pay for imported fuel and the subsidy we pay on it.

That's why when voting...if your candidate does not have a plan to get us off oyel....don't vote for them (Especially APC).
Dumb talk

. Very soon savings in dollars will be banned, Physical Dollars cash may also be banned, Naira value is getting eroded because people now use dollars like is our local currency, when travelling abroad you will have to buy travellers cheque from your bank.

Soon all your FX in dorm account will be converted to Naira, there are over $20B dollars in dorm accounts, if this is converted to Naira dollar can be less than 200 Naira
