Lesson: It's not yet over. Let's watch and see as things unfold.

For your info, better go and stock up foods in your house now.

There are so many lessons.

1. Never betray your benefactor. E.g Like what Pandora did to Atiku

2 Never hate a person because everyone hates the person. E.g Igbos against Tinubu

3 Always attack a common enemy by unity and alliances. E.g PDP and LP were not United and no alliances formed.

4.Never be too confident of victory. E g Atiku was too confident of victory

5.Never let your emotions cloud your judgements. E g nzogbu nzogbu politics didn't allow the igbos to look at the bigger picture. Now the person they love to hate is their next president.

I will drop more lessons when it gets to front page.

I like your number 5. The youths were overly emotional.

Obi is a wonder. With no state governor, no Fed House member. He did all this wonders

Am proud of him.

Shame on all the SS governors that worked against Obi.
which wonder he ran a divisive campaign and attracted bigots. Why has all the candidates he has been endorsing for anambra state election losing outside obiano

Dear Nairalanders, What was the greatest lesson for you in this election ?

The greatest lesson is how the opposition failed to unite based on personal greed especially the one that said he will win without structure (he was still 3rd in the elections). They all went home empty-handed! I hope we now know that the two major parties will continue to be in competition until a seismic event enters our politics. Why? Because they have the structure and nationwide appeal (Atiku got at least 25% in 26 states while Mr. I will win without structure didn't meet the at least 25% in 24 states requirement - he only got that in 16 states way off the 24 states required).

That you should always take every bad news of poverty, unemployment, mass killings, huge corruption that we see everyday with a pinch of salt.

During election, a significant number of those affected by government bad policies will still vote for them.

You can say that again! Was shocking seeing those humongous votes for APC who have been abysmal for 8 years especially for the last 4 years! We said it then that this was going to be the most divisive election and votes were going to be along tribal lines. We turned out to be right.

Throwback:
Greatest lesson is don't believe in your own delusion too much.

You can say that again! That was the lesson and bitter pill to swallow especially for the disunited opposition and a certain "structure" candidate.

Exactly! Caveat on the Atiku was too confident of victory, he saw the writings on the wall with the fragmented opposition and incursions into his votes but was fighting two wars at the same time, one within his party and one outside. Not much he could do.

1). You cannot become president of Nigeria without spread. So make friends not enemies.

2) most Nigerians are so busy thinking with their hearts not their heads they miss the obvious, right in front of them.

3) the Ibos remain the most tribalalistic tribe in this country.

4) Trust is earned, in the end (both at the primaries and the election) it was the North that saved Tinubu. Sometimes you have to give 1st.

5).Just as your own can betray you, your enemies today can one day help you, e.g Wike,

Exactly. #1 is the lesson for those Obidients crooners.

That God doesn't rule over the affairs of men. and that We have been fooled for doñkey years about his existence when none single church general could say the mind of God regarding the future of a great nation as Nigeria, if actually He does exist which I strongly doubt then his glory has left us thousands of years ago to fend for ourselves

Peter Obi was the best candidate for the job, tribal sentiments aside. He had age on his side, he also has a good track record and had innovative ideas to change the country around.
Which track record, his 8 yrs as Anambra governor?

No lesson learnt. undecided

INEC simply manipulated the votes of Obi's stronghold States e.g. Rivers and Akwa-Ibom. sad

How can a Contestant lose his states Lagos and Osun, but win in Far away Akwa-Ibom and Rivers? 😕

What has Tinubu ever done for Rivers to get their Massive votes

The name of the game is Democracy, and it is won with strategic partnerships and alliances... Something the Regional President Wannabe knows nothing about.

Obi won only South and Central states... Lagos and Abuja doesn't count because the votes were largely from Ibos living in those places. The Man with the National spread, who won in every region is the President-Elect.

You will do well to learn lessons or you guys will forever remain spectators in the grand scheme of things

Proof you've never been outside your village. The only thing Nigerians need to defend Nigerians from is the impression of fraud, drug peddling, human trafficking, and gang activities that southerners commit. Most foreigners don't even know Northern Nigeria exists.
Nigerians are not the worst countries on the list of what you pin pointed above. But it seems that's the only thing we do down here, as the country internally is bleeped up.
Russia, Usa and China are the biggest country when it comes to fraud, why is no one calling the whole country fraudsters? Because internally they are getting it right. Same thing appears in other category. If we keep getting fuxked up electorate with fukhed up candidates each election, everyone will be seen as dunce as foreigners don't know Nigerians by tribe.
