Such vulnerable people can easily be tricked into good European countries or North America than India and Turkey. I guess that’s why the boy was bamboozled or tricked into following them.

I believe if our institutions had been strengthened in during your time as member and deputy speaker house of senate, all these would not have come to be. The senate in better climes exists to make laws and scrutinize policies of the executive arm as it affects the general populace. Bit in our land, they all collude to making life a miserable hell for the citizens. With all the graduates being produced from federal, state as well as private universities across the nation, and with a commitment of government across board and all levels, we would have a better healthcare system, and indeed society. But you and your political colleagues, you have made politics occupational have eaten and swallowed both your dues and the wealth of the people. I hold you no pity, cos out of poverty so many Nigerians have ventured into drug peddling abroad and have also been executed accordingly.

Only if our people will begin to stone your likes to death.

Ekweremmadu's actions are legally and morally wrong.

But are you telling me that the boy wasn't aware of his mission to UK?

Ilekokonit:
What baffles me about our mindset in Nigeria is that we feel that we are special and that best practices from civilized countries can be ignored by Nigeria 'cos such best practices do not apply to us because Nigeria is that special ?

What did Boris Johnson even do that warranted him being kicked out as prime minister (a charge led by members of his own party and a cabinet he appointed).

He attended a party in downing street where he both works and lives during lock down and he was adjudged to have lied about it and for just misleading parliament he was removed as prime minister and his appearance on televised camera at yesterdays party-gate enquiry in parliament where he had to hold the Bible and swear under oath to tell the truth about the lockdown parties means that if he is found guilty of lying, though he may not go to jail, 'cos the enquiry is not a proper court, it may mark the end of his political career.

Don't forget that the former chairman of the UK Conservative Party - Renowned author Jeffrey Archer - once went to jail for 4 years for Perjury - lying under oath in a case he brought against a tabloid newspaper that exposed that he slept with a prostitute and he took them to court and was found guilty of lying under oath in court and he was jailed for 4 years and actually spent 2 years in prison - 'cos he actually slept with the prostitute and this was not his crime. His crime was lying about it in court under oath and Jeffrey Archer was a top member of the British establishment at the time he was jailed for just lying in court and being a top member of the British establishment could not save him from jail time. !!!

He was jailed for lying in court 14 years earlier !!!!!

On 19 July 2001, Jeffrey Archer was found guilty of perjury and perverting the course of justice at a 1987 trial in a court case he had brought against the tabloids. He was sentenced to four years' imprisonment.

Jeffrey Archer's mother had died shortly before he was sentenced and he was released from prison just for 1 day to attend his Mums funeral.

Until we in Nigeria start demanding, expecting and holding the kleptocratic Nigerian politicians to the same high standards that civilised countries use to judge their politicians, we may not see a good Nigeria in our lifetime.

And whilst we are at it, we should all gang up and condemn criminality whenever we find it in our unrepentantly greed politicians because without this critical mass of people CONSTANTLY and RELENTLESSLY dragging our heartless politicians for their wrong doings, Nigeria becoming good may be an impossible pipe dream if things are allowed to continue like it currently is.

We can NOT plant corn and expect to harvest bananas.

Its about time in Nigeria that we start copying best practices from around the civilized world so that we can give our children a fighting chance in life.

The alternative if we do nothing is to see ourselves as second class citizens / slaves / servants to these heartless Nigerian politicians, their wives and children and their hangers on.
You’re going too far… most Nigerians understand injustice when done to them… they have no empathy when it’s done to others… Look at the number of people justifying electoral violence … simply because it was done others…

Ofcourse the Jury already found out the boy lied about a lot of things including his age and saying he was an orphan when infact his both parents are still alive but that's not the bone of contention here ohh.
Baba, wife and their doctor beat UK immigration laws,Health laws and tourists visa laws...It was learnt that 5430 sick UK citizens are patiently waiting for someone to die to get a legitimate kidney transplant from the deceased while 9ja Kidney barons dey illegally move peeps into UK anyhow dey harvest their kidneys.
The worst is that the boy was treated like a slave by the family and was going to get 2700pounds for something a live donor should get more than 5000pounds.And he would have been living illegally in the UK afterwards going by the arrangement.
Pain me say 15yrs maximum dem go splash give these callous souls.

Rightfully So. An organ isn’t an Orange. It doesn’t grow on trees.

Sonia is a British citizen and was already on the transplant list and would have received one as soon as it got to her turn. She’s not more deserving than the people on that list. That her criminal parents decided to steal a kidney or even both kidneys is on them.
So she’s a British citizen?

Ladies and gentlemen, to the lovers of true freedom, self-determination, and prosperity, the time we all wish for is right here before us. A multipolar world where no single power dominates everywhere, putting Africa knee-deep in poverty, backwardness, and suffering.

President Xi and President Putin are the torchbearers of this solemn task, and we must give them all the support they need. These two countries have never in their history harmed Africa, instead, they helped us a lot. From decolonization to infrastructure and loans, and never killed any of our revolutionary leaders.

You know that a person is good when he helps you when he was poor, not when he is rich. China in the time of Mao has been building infrastructure all over Africa (read about the Tazara railways), a time when China is as poor as Bangladesh.

But the west enslaved our ancestors for four hundred years, then colonized us, and are the wealthiest bloc, but still, refuse to help us. Instead, they keep killing our leaders, calling us monkeys, seeing us as inferiors, and sanctioning our economies. Should I continue? Their evil in Africa is beyond words.

I know there are many slaves in our midst, just like Judas Iscariot, who will sabotage any effort to free themselves, since the only world they know and are comfortable in is a white man's hegemonic world, but good will always defeat evil. They can enslave your body. but never allow them to enslave your soul.

It will only get better from here.

Everything you wrote?
What did you write that is sensible?
What is the relevance of whether he knew?
The honest answer is I do not know and you do not know too
it does not matter as far as the court case is concerned
The fact that you are prepared to form an opinion and not listen to the facts show s you are biased.
The other thing that i s obvious is you really have not taken time to even hear what the case against Ekweremadu is
Let us assume the boy knew, did he understand?
,was he told the whole truth?
Was he told that if he gives a kidney he would need treatment and checkups for ever?
Was there any arrangement for this
would he get this lifelong treatment? As required by UK law and did the Ekweremadu enter an agreement to pay for that? Or were they going to use and dump him
Let m me make one thing clear the UK WERE NEVER going to let him remain in their country and pay for lifetime healthcare. He would have to return to Nigeria.
The doctor who interviewed was right to judge that he had no means to look after himself if he returned to Nigeria with one kidney. That should highlight to you the wickedness of the whole enterprise
Was he told that if his other kidney fails he too might need a transplant?
I don't know and it is wrong to judge without hearing him
Now what happened is the hospital refused to perform the procedure and he returned home
How did they treat him from that point?

You make it sound as if
if he knew he cannot change his mind.? Why not?
Is he no longer a human being
Even weddings people cancel
Have you considered he agreed based on deception. You totally fail to acknowledge deception
What really is happening to us in Nigeria? What kind of mentality is that?
Does he have family?did the inform them?

Thank you!
Reading some of the comments from some Nigerians really made me think that some of us indeed lack critical thinking skills...all thise "he agreed", "he gave his consent", 'He was not forced" as if they are talking about someone agreeing to borrow another a pair of shoes and not a critical body organ of which the lack of could reduce the quality of life or end it completely. I tire.

I just hope this case also serves to educate Nigerians about organ donation, the restrictions and the consequences and health implications that are involved as well as world of human trafficking for the purpose of illegally procuring organs for the rich.

I hope the Judge passes a light sentence for them especially since the crime they committed was borne out of the love for their daughter. Wait. Was the daughter also on trial too?

I hope the boy's conscience is at ease Shaa? Because putting Ekweremadu and his family's freedom at risk because he wants to stay back in the UK through asylum is wild.

Evidence presented during the trial proved that the young man didn’t plot against the Ekeweremadus, the Ekeweremadus plotted against him. Beatrice was terrible on the stand and her foul attitude caused her to answer the prosecutor’s questions in ways that aided the prosecution.

To those of you labelling the boy as wicked because he excercised his human right not to donate his God given body part.

This is the fate of the other Nigerian who donated to the convicted Doctor Obinna Obeta.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65015489.amp

"As for the young Nigerian who was flown to London to provide a kidney for Dr Obeta, the BBC found him living in a small east London flat with condensation on the windows, still suffering from pain and weakness, the consequences of giving up a vital organ."

Anyone siding with the Ekweremadu and blaming the victim, I pray none of your loved ones ever fall victim to evil rich selfish Nigerian politicans who are only out to use you for spare parts and disposable assets.
