brother, even medical doctors are not well paid in the UK talk less of security. Let me break it down for you. They pay about 15 pounds per hour if you are in London and cheaper outside. Let's say you can do 60 hours a week that is 900 pounds a week or let's say 3600 a month . It appeArs like a lot if you convert to naira. But you live in London and don't spend naira. Ok so you are at a higher tax bracket which is 40 percent so you take home like 2700 a month. It's London so your rent is like say 1000 if say you are single and no family and managing a small one bedroom. So that 1700 left. Council tax is like 150. You left with 1550. Let's say your utilities 300 a month you have 1250. Transport lets say 200. That's 1050. Phone and internet lets say 100. That's 950. Feeding let's say 400. That's 550 left. Clothing and haircut and miscellaneous like eating out and sending to naija etc and buying naija foods let's say like 300 a month. You have 250 left. Young guy you want trip woman to movies or go pub to drink pints of beer etc let's say 200 a month. You have 50 pounds left. Now this is calculation for single man. If you have wife and children may GOD help you is your cAse lol

He will be one of those Nigerians over there who go to Salvation Army charity or church charity to get free food because they can't feed tbemself. Almost 40 percent of Nigerians in the UK cannot afford food. If you go to the charity section of every church where they give free food to the hungry it's full of Nigerian families.

Must Nigerians move to the UK? That place is so saturated and looks like it's dying. No offence. London looks like a patched middle East, and white British people seems like a minority there.

Mainland European countries like Austria, Netherlands, Germany, or the Nordics don't have these issues of hunger or homelessness. If one can learn the language, it's the true obodo oyibo.

Actually I had an illusion about moving to the UK while I was still struggling with language issues, but after I visited that place, I now appreciated where I was coming from, and said to myself, tufiakwa. Not UK.

One thing I do every time I watch some YouTube videos about the UK, the comments sections seems very bitter, and the Brits complaining that the UK is completely lost.

They mostly bemoan the declining economical opportunities, swamp of immigrants, and how the demography of the UK has changed forever, and for the worse. Many decided to move, while mamy accepted their fate.

Do I feel sorry for them? Of course not. They lay their bed, let them lie on it. But on a Frank note, I won't like to see more Arab and Asian faces in the street of Lagos, than black faces, after all, Nigeria did not colonize anyone.

I agree with you.

And yet many Nigerians are hell bent. It sounds absurd to carry that huge sum and go and dash one mumu University in the UK just because I can earn higher washing plates or scrubbing floor than what an average BSC or MSC holder in Nigeria will earn. See with this massive brain drain, Nigeria will never become great. Rather than Nigerians to tackle the issue at hand, we'd rather chicken out and run away from the problem. I only imagine if the UK had mismanaged their own economy like we did ours, would we have somewhere to run to? I've said it, and I'll continue to say it, Nigerians are the problem of this country. We don't want this nation to be great due to selfish interests. As long as a typical Nigerian has money to feed and pay house rent and pay bills, he is satisfied. Even if it means getting that money through illegal means, he doesn't care. Look at how many of these our so called celebrities sabotaged this presidential election for us because of what the will collect from the same people who impoverished millions of Nigerians. We cannot seem to Unite for a collective cause. Everyone has selfish mindset. We can't move forward as a nation with this attitude.
