OkutaNla: No be to de rant haaa haaaa haaaaa. The irony of this movement is that you guys made an actual lagosian look less lagosian to a non lagosian. No be to de should enough is enough for mouth. Can you actually live by your words? In some part of the south east, lands are not sold to the highest bidder. Read that line again. There are processes to sell a land which requires a sequence of audience i.e notification to direct family, kindred, community, town, local govt and outsiders in that order if none of the earlier people stated were able to pay. Most times, the lands are sold before it gets to outsiders. The irony of life is that an Enugu man is regarded as an outsider in that context to an Anambra man. Not necessarily about Yoruba or Hausa. There are some lands family will not even allow you to sell. If they realize you sold it, they can refund the person that paid for the land. e.g lands that have cultural significance. It's not about tribe in this context. So, tribalism is not the motive. Who won't want to sell to the highest bidder? Every seller wants to make money right? Just that the system won't allow it. Now let's come back to Lagos. In Lagos, kids sell their father's property to the extent of selling their father's resident home. Most of these people are not actual lagosians because they end up relocating to their village. So, how do you tell Taiwo not to sell his father's land bestowed on him to the highest bidder when there is no process in place to checkmate his activity? 1 Like 1 Share |

Ballack1: The original inhabitants, aborigines not settlers whose ancestry can be traced to somewhere else. That you are born in place doesn't make you the indigene of that state, because it's not your state of origin. 2 Likes |

Christistruth03: No, it was not. It was illegal too, so why would you think you doing the same would suddenly become constitutional? Did you read somewhere that an eye for an eye was the way to go? |
Re: No-Man’s Land: Lagos To Make Laws To Protect Indigenes by BigBabyJesus: 8:25pm On Jun 07, 2023 |
budaatum: Go to court then and be schooled on the following : 1. That this is a legislative act in accordance with the constitution that can't be breached by the judiciary 2. The Lagos state legislative house , like every other in the federation including the National Assembly , has powers enshrined in the constitution to enact laws to which the judiciary must respect, uphold and ensure its jurisprudence. 4. That the judiciary will school your Lagos residents's petitioners that this is a rightful enacted law to which they must obey or quit Lagos 5. If you Lagos residents like your Abuja residents insist on going to court, the court will duly throw out the matter and fine each and every one joined as plaintiffs for wasting the courts time and resources and your 0koro solicitors will be immediately disrobed and remanded to Kirikiri for3 months. Jagungidi: Those people hate Igbos more than Yorubas. But can you blame them when Igbos are lousy irritants that are inherently covetous? Most of the wars fought in the history of humanity have been because of land. So, it’s just normal for people to hate you when you go about claiming people’s lands as yours thus making them look like conquered people. You can’t separate a man and his land because it’s the reason for his existence. I remember seeing a lousy claim by an Igbo guy earlier this year on Twitter that Igbos have bought 50% of all the lands in Lagos. At first, I was thinking “what the Bleep are Yorubas doing”? Then I just decided to use Google earth to see if Lagos still has some green land and forest belt and interestingly 10-30% of habitable part of Lagos is still green. And the residential area of Lagos is probably between 40-60% of the state. So, how can one group own 50% of that? Also, how can someone wake up and make such a ludicrous claim to rile people up and not be hated? I still don’t know why some idiotic Yorubas wear pom-poms for them because these people don’t have many likeable traits. My theory is that, this section of Yorubas must be the utter lazy and uneducated Yorubas who depend on Igbo traders and criminals for survival. And it’s understandable since there are dregs in every community. 6 Likes |

budaatum: It's eludes you that the control of land and several other elements are vested in the state government. I expect the Tinubu FG to restructure the government leaving more discretionary powers in the office of the state governors. Lagos civil service employment going forward would be very different to before I can assure you of that. 5 Likes |

slawomir:Bini people kor, bendel ni….The Aworis, the Isheri’s, Ijebus and the Egun people own Lagos. The Benin people only came to settle in Lagos Island, and named it Eko. The Portuguese Came and named it Lagos. The whites are the ones who made word Lagos popular because of their influence in terms of development. Eko is Lagos Island and not entire Lagos. |

sweetgala: I've been told Tinubu would also turn Nigeria into an Islamic nation, though I'm certain non-Muslims would react the same way non-Lagosians are reacting to Lagos proposing indigene laws. I can just hope you are wrong, as most wouldn't appreciate having to convert to Islam in order to be Nigerian. |

BigBabyJesus: Ah, your true colours at last. If Nigeria were a zoo, you'd need to be an animal. I do not agree that Nigeria is a zoo, nor do I think Nigeria would fail. There are far too many smart and intelligent Nigerians who would not let you animals take over and destroy it.

Alaigbomaster: Point is that Lagos State belongs to Lagos people not Yoruba from other States. Inside Lagos there are Aworis, Eguns /Fons and Saros then fringe of Ijebu who speak different dialects and inhabit different parts of the State. They should be allowed to own their State and control it's politics but because some people from hinterland want to continue using it as a cash cow they are creating a dichotomy grouping the entire Yoruba as owners of Lagos State and Igbos as those trying to dominate them. Igbos have always had cordial relationship with the real Lagos natives and have always supported them politically, internarried with them and see them as brothers. |

If anyone still has any doubt Nigeria is not united, then they should gladingly stay in their fool's paradise. Gradually, the thread of the fabric holding us together as a nation has been unravelling. Eventually, there will be nothing holding us back from going our separate ways, because we will then be at loose ends of many threads, light enough to be transported by the wind. One day, when the regional champions of tribalism and nepotism sit down to enjoy their devices, they will create room for a chance to gore themselves to death with something they never thought they could ever control. It is a foolish man who farts every time and everywhere that complains the toilet is smelly. Obasa is not a Lagos State indigene and I hope he would restore his sense to remember that he has never for one day being known as a truly bred one. |

Ttipsy: And there laws do not subjugate or relegate red Indians , they accord them special recognition, they even recognize them in different occasions in music (special awards) , laws e.t.c and they recognize them as the aborigines even with massive cosmopolitan nature, unlike all this stupid and annoying notion we get around here " Lagos is no man's land" simple recognition and respect , they can't even give just because of ego or politics , or because they just invade Lagos to sell gala in traffic, then it has become a place of no indigenes. mtcheew! |
