This depends on your situation and the requirements. Make sure you have enough to cover the airfare and a bit more (at least that's what I have done several times in the past). But my situation may be different from yours so do what you deem siutable to your situation.

Ok, thanks for your response. I thought there would be like a maintenance amount to show for the duration of stay.

What I did was to show an account statement with enough money to cover the flight fare and some miscellaneous expenses and then added my payslip and accomodation contract to show I can accommodate her and take care of her while here. First visit was for almost 5 months.

Hi elders, please I need serious help.

Is there anyway a tier 2 visa holder can bring their sick mum to live with them or get nhs treatment?

Yes, but it won't be cheap cos you have to pay for the treatment and she will leave afyer 6 months or when she's done with the treatment. Can get a long visa and visit often afterwards

what do you mean by the last part please ?

In the event of an incidence, it's the amount you will pay out of pocket. The insurance coy only steps in to covers amounts above that excess

Yes, you can bring your parents for medical tourism but you have to cover the cost of all medical treatment.

I stated that she was coming to see her first grandchild. On subsequent applications, I stated that she was either visiting to see us or her new grandchild.

I think I stated around 3 or 4 months in the first application, she spent just over 5 months. In subsequent applications, I have stated duration as 4 or 5 months. Again your situation will determine how you structure your application

The unregulated nature of property purchase in Nigeria moreso with lack of access to credit facilities makes it a mine field.
Real estate is almost always bought in cash hence creating a drag on property growth. Except in highbrow areas, you can’t guarantee that those who have cash are willing to buy. Reason why most stick with undeveloped land as it's easier to dispose off. Being a landlord is another wahala.

The devaluation of the naira hasn't helped.

Real estate investment in the west provides a more measured, safe and dependable approach. Regulations are strong. There are huge opportunities in Nigeria, but at the very least, a relatively stable naira is needed

In our case, it wasn't strictly for childcare but we also had other grandparents come around. so it was roughly 1year to 18 months wait.

My People i have few questions to ask.

Does anyone have information about the duration it takes to process a provisional license? I applied online, and after a week, I received a form in the mail which I promptly filled out and returned. However, it has been almost two weeks since then, and I haven't received any updates or news regarding the status of my application. I am in need of the provisional license, so any information or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, I have a query regarding driving my uncle's car. Is it possible for the insurance, M.O.T, and car registration to be in my name? I currently possess a valid Nigeria driver's license, which I believe I can use for another year until my full UK license is obtained.

Thank you.

Please what can a laboratory technologist who studied microbiology and lectures practical sessions in a university in Nigeria do in UK?

We're trying to explore possible opportunities upon arrival. What certifications can one do or career paths available please.

Thank you

Also, please, for visitors visa, how much should one ideally have in the account?

I know 6 months is usually given but does the person need to state how long he's staying and therefore have enough rent and expenses to cover for that period?

Please help clarify

Yes. Your uncle must add you to the car insurance before you can drive the car. I don’t know about the car registration but it can surely be changed to your name

Nothing, go and have your birth and when it’s January and you’re ready to switch you can then include your newborn. Cheers

Thank you. I am also still making my findings for the nearest future, hopefully this floating exchange rate will yield good result.

Please will you say getting a mortgage can help with security of property in Nigeria? My thought was if one can secure a mortgage for a home/buy to let with a bank, the bank will also do their due diligence right?

And yes you are right, getting a mortgage in the west here has it advantages but I’m not sure how one can easily climb the real estate ladder. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong please. 😁

They should intensify their efforts in getting sponsorship, as I don't think giving birth here gives them that "immunity" to stay cos of "omo Charlie"

Good morning my good people

To all the switching gurus

Please how long do I need leave my £1250 in the natwest account. Can I pay the money into the natwest account today and transfer to another account the following day, or does it have to be the account for a specific period?
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by CheesyTee(f): 7:13am On Jun 27, 2023
You can spend your money. You just need 1250 to enter the account

So are you saying the only thing we need to do is to add my name to the Car Insurance?
then i can start to drive the car with my Nigerian Driver license.

I'd disagree with the statement "when nature calls, you obey".... well within the context of marriage , no wahala. But you don't yield to sexual cravings nah because it is nature?? We are meant to exercise dominion over our body and all the lusts it presents.

Unpopular opinion innit? 😉
