I still wonder how do people get addicted to it. I mean, I don't see anything addictive there. SeriouslySense: Maybe men are more vulnerable to porn at that Age than women because of their makeup.
Also the cultural expectations could be helpful or may not be helpful.
Also the easy access to porn on the internet makes it easier to become addicted and the business model creates competition among the porn actors and actresses, which also put them at risk of dying earlier.
And addicted individual are at risk of treating others as sex objects.
Children are at risk of being exposed to predators also.
The summary, its not a healthy addiction.

questioner: My mum has people staying with her - my niece, an extended family member and a close family friend and her daughter. We are okay with it cos it ensures she always has company and reduces the need to always travel to check on her.
Recently the monthly subscription I do on the router at home, which usually has carry over data by the time it expires, now lasts about a week before they start calling me to renew Everybody in the house denied being the cause of the data drain.
Last week, I came to spend some days at my mum's and first thing I did was to install a network tracker to monitor. Long story short, I discovered the excessive consumption was from my niece but that's not the major issue. She was visiting porn sites which was draining data but that's still not the major prob. My problem was the frequency and how long she spent on porn daily.
The day I came, after she retreated to her room, the porn streaming started and didn't stop until the family member sharing a room with her came back at night. The next morning once the other lady left for work, she continued with the porn until it was time to leve for her lessons. Once she came back in the afternoon, she did some chores, ate, sat around the sitting room for a while and went inside and boom the porn resumed until the other girl came around hours later. This was practically the routine for the 4 days I stayed there.
The day I was to leave I told my mum that I observed the drain came from my niece and blocked her from the router. She called my niece and questioned her but she denied knowing anything about it, I spared her blushes by saying sometimes apps have background processes that consume data without the owner knowing.
Ever since, I have been wondering if I handled the situation properly. I didn't confront her about it cos I was concerned about the embarrassment she will feel for a male family to find out about her secret. She might even assume I have told my mum or my elder bro (her dad), which might weigh her down emotionally.
Also, I am concerned if this is a sign of promiscuity, she will be 17 next month And aside the fact that she's quite tall, she might as well pass for a 14 year old. She's barely endowed for her age- bottomline, not the kind of girl, you will associate with waywardness.
My question is 1. Would it have been better if I had confronted her 2. Is this a possible sign of promiscuity ? - if so, I will suggest mum sends her back to her Dad cos I am not sure at her advanced age she should be dealing with issues like this, to avoid stories that touch later on Let her be.. and continue tp pray for her... Most of this young boys and girls will engage in porn at their developing age... but I can tell you! She will grow up and get tired and some point... Blocking the WiFi will only make her hunger rise and she can do anything worse just to get back online |

We all adults ere i guess, but i was going through a thread earlier today about which is more safer: Masturbation or Fornication? Should it be even up for a debate? Samantha124: I was just a curious teenager and once I was satisfied with what I saw in those sites, I completely stopped checking them.
I was just going through a phase and it soon passed... A lot of teenagers at that age are curious about sex and it's a normal thing.
So the op should just let his niece satisfy her curiosity and the whole will soon pass.
I can't remember the sections I used to visit because it's been a while. |

People vary, some people are very sensitive to such materials, and their imaginations are very attuned to such. The process of addiction is not clearly understood, but sometimes being exposed to nudity and porn at a very young age, may cause an individual to have a persistent urge to seek porn, because there were some disruptions in early crucial brain development, sometimes this urge can be controlled if the person can understand when and how they got addicted and they begin to work on their perception and replace it, with other activity that also makes them happy. Sexual abuse can also cause this urges, and lack of affection at a young age could also cause it. Another factor is idleness, or not having meaningful things to do, in some cases, lacking true human connections, in form of meaningful relationships. Nowadays, people are lacking meaningful connections to others, and are more stressed and they become bored and more vulnerable and porn becomes a tool to distract their attention. . . . She has already transcended into the future, while people are preoccupied with spreading infections through various activities, including marriage and relationships.
Pornography operates on the power of imagination, and while engaging in it, individuals may inadvertently jeopardize the positive aspects of their own partners. It's important to recognize that anyone, regardless of gender or relationship status, can enjoy pornography. However, the likes of Adam Eva, Keisha Ortega, or Canela Skin's intimate moments shared, may risk overshadowing the unique qualities and special bond one shares with their partner over the years. |

first of all confronting her is the best move, spilling it right in face is the best. thats a gal a teen for that matter and the worst of it is pornstars are nothing but liars and pretenders, they overrate sex to sell their products which the naive ones don't know...
lastly check her friends and classmates cause they're the ones that showed that part to her....

If it is a guy, I wouldn't bother much cos I know too well that lots of young boys go thru this phase but even though I know it exists but this is the first time I am seeing a girl in this situation - if it portends the beginning of trouble, I will just advice that she should be returned to stay with her dad wake up! Girls are addicted to porn just as boys are. There's no difference here. But how can you even have an open internet like that without parental controls. Would you allow a kid just watch the Youtube accessible to everyone, and not Youtube for kids? Think about that. Install parental controls. |

It's a good thing that you blocked her supply of data, but that alone won't suffice. Do not be shy to let her know that you know, but reprimand her with love. It seems she is already addicted, thus you must work your fingers to the bones to make sure she overcomes this addiction. If you can afford it, let her see a therapist. |
