PEPT Wants Supreme Court To Disqualify My Appeal – Atiku Cries Out by Bobloco: 4:07am On Sep 09, 2023
Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has lamented the failure of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to make available a certified copy of the judgment, three days after it was delivered.

Atiku’s lawyers are yet to get a copy of the judgment.

The lawyers are said to have formally applied to the court for certified true copies as of Friday.

The former Vice President and his team of lawyers have just 14 days to approach the Supreme Court with their appeal against the PEPC ruling.

Atiku spoke in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu.

The statement said, “By not making available to Atiku Abubakar, Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, the certified true copies of the judgment of Wednesday for its filings at the Supreme Court, the Presidential Election Petition Court, is undermining Atiku’s and Nigerians quest for justice.”

Shaibu reminded the PEPC that some of the testimonies of Atiku’s witnesses were struck out during Wednesday’s ruling simply because their statements on oath were filed out of time.

He said the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal is not oblivious that Atiku has already lost three days of the 14-day limit stipulated for filing in their processes at the Supreme Court.

“And now, for all intents and purposes, the same court wants to have Atiku and PDP’s appeal to the Supreme Court disqualified by the reason of time deadline.

“Does the PEPC not understand that the lawyers representing Atiku/PDP need to digest the judgment as contained in the CTC, which represents the authentic pronouncements made in court on Wednesday, in order to formulate its case for filing?” Shaibu queried

This is funny and at the same time sad.
PEPT should make copies available to all petitioners and cut this crap.
Petitioners have the right to exaust all legal processes and should not be discouraged from trying even though AA lawyers are fighting a lost battle undecided

let Atiku and his team use the one available to the public to prepare their appeal , they will surely release the certified true copies at least before 10 days but I can understand their early cry,.

It doesn't stop them from preparing. They should prepare their appeal with what is in the public domain while they await the CTC.

It's too early to start crying wolf

INEC delayed them access to some materials.

Now the PEPT is doing the same thing, denying them access to the certified true copies of the judgement they read out.

Some idiots here are laughing without understanding what exactly is happening. If this nonsense is allowed to go on, then this country is truly finished.

Allow them access to the judgement, so they can go to the Supreme Court. What kind of nonsense is this. The same nonsense INEC did. All these because of money and bribe..

It’s such a pity..

But why are this people always wanting to be preemptive? Why are they always crying out. Can't they just go ahead with their appeal with making noise? I am very sure thier counsels won't be noble enough to advise them against appealing despite the clarity of the judgment by the tribunal. They will make money na.

Ok Ooo..

For Now...
The 798-paged document is out finally..
It contained the Consolidated Judgement of all the Parties inside one Document..

So, all the Parties are going to come together as the appellants, and file one huge appeal..

One thing I don't understand is that...
All the pages of the document has “Tinubu Presidential Legal Team (TPLT)” written on the top..

So, how come such a heading on the pages of the document??

How Come??

They have 14 days but the PEPT was eager to dismiss petitions because they were filed after the official time prescribed by the law. If the CTC or whatever documents being asked for are not released in a timely manner how then can they put forward their case before the Supreme court. I read someone say then they should use what they have, then the same court will dismiss their petition due to insufficient evidence or tardiness. Nobody is fooled though.

Im shocked Atiku is crying over this. The CTC will be typed, the Judges will go through it before the certify it.

There is no way Atiku can get the CTC even in two days.

There are judicial processes which I had expected Atiku lawyers to share with him.

Atiku seeking public sympathy or trying to blackmail the court.

A shame

Exactly what INEC did at the first tribunal. They denied the petitioners access to election materials that would have been used to prosecute their cases.
As this injustices was on, the useless PEPT judges where watching and did nothing. But when it was time to deliver judgement, they said the petitioners evidence were not enough hence dismissing their appeals.
Now the PEPT have started their own. Denying petitioners access to CTCS of the judgement so that supreme court will in this vein say the petition lacks merits and is hereby thrown out.

Make una continue. But one day na one day
