What are you doing in Lagos?
Don't you know the road to Aba?
How do we know the real ritualists if YOU BIAFRANS will not stay in the East? undecided
No sympathies. . . the ritualists may be from any parts of Nigeria.

you have to be careful with your comments. You are acting like a kid. What has tribe to do with her testimony? You should be ashamed of yourself. After you guys will complain of racism while you do worst. Hating your fellow countrymen because of tribe. God created us together igbo, yoruba, hausa, ijaw. We are meant to love each other. No tribe is superior than the other. We are all equal. Don't allow warped mindset of tribal superiority to becloud our sense of logical reasoning. Am proudly Nigerian and we always be.

Na serious thing ooo. People get mind sha, some usually leave home at 5.30am for work and also return late at night, all by public transport. Once its dark, a lot of evil people operate in Nigeria.

Very real, I have heard from one with first hand experience as well. A family friend was abducted with several others and she was only spared cos her name was Kehinde (twin). The herbalist advised the kidnappers to release her as it was against their shrines ethics to use twins. Her hair(both pubic and head) had been shaved and she was dropped off on an expressway somewhere in ogun state with just a wrapper. Na big thanksgiving dem do for church ooo.

A lot of kidnapped ritual victims are not lucky to recount their ordeal. Herbalists have now achieved success in their research on how to renew blood money for their clients. They top it up with more human sacrifices.

From thursday to monday...nearly 5 days which is pushing the upper limits of human survival without water. usually it's between 3 - 5 days. For a 13 year old girl,it should lean more towards 3 days.

Story could be fishy...

Abi? The story is too dramatic. And what I find most intriguing is the quality of English being used by this 13 year old, to express herself in the article (script) above.

Check these sentences out for example:

"Although we were blindfolded, yet, I was able to see a bit of what was going on. They decided Sunday would be my turn when they would conclude their rituals"

And this one...

"As a member of the drama group, we usually hold drama rehearsals every Tuesdays. So, it was co-incidental that the members of the group were there at that time".

There is something fishy here. How many graduates of today can express themselves with grammar of such quality? The flow, the punctuation, and vocabulary (e.g. "conclude their rituals"; "it was co-incidental"; etc) are not attributes you'd find in the written or spoken languages of typical 13 year olds.

We are here in Nairaland everyday and we see how both teenagers and even adults struggle to express themselves on common issues. Now, a 13 year old has used flawless grammar to narrate a story about kidnap and rituals. Hmmmm.....
.....
Anyhow, we thank God. The whole thing ended happily.

Will they ever please u guys?
If people speak wrong grammar, u feel like crucifying him. And if they speak Queen's english, it gives room for doubt.
Do u know her educational background to say that she is incapable of fully expressing herself?
Maybe someone had made it clearer for us to understand and u are here talking down on someone just because of her age.

so what we see on nollywood happens in real life.
Nobody is talking about arrests, prosecution, yet these are human being butchered daily?like it's a normal acceptable thing?
God rescues but where is the law of the land?
When people read such stuff about nigeria, the image that comes to mind is that one of a man eat man society, where you have to keep looking behind your back every second because a large % of pop is into these things.

In trying to show they are wiser than all, some people display something else. Who told you the girl wrote the story? She only narrated, someone else wrote it. If there is any flaw or perfection in the grammar, the writer should be reponsible for that.

Orikinla: These voodoo crimes can only happen in an uncivilized nation like Nigeria.
The simple solution to it is to comb all villages and forests in Nigeria and destroy all shrines and arrest all the native doctors and spiritualists in every village and town for interrogation and prosecution.

All the rituals these black savages do have not turned them into Bill Gates or Warren Buffet and even when you visit their villages, there is nothing spectacular about the architecture to show they have made money.

With all the bragging and noise about Nigerian billionaires, their villages are still looking like Europe in the Middle Ages and even in Lagos, there is no single spectacular feature of architecture to impress foreign tourists, except the bad roads, cheap call girls and second rate five star hotels with unhygienic kitchens and dirty poorly paid staff whose sight can make foreign tourists from the US and Europe sick.
Dirty and filthy Nigerians who as we all know are the beneficiaries and errand boys and girls of the cultists doing these evil rituals for political contractors and political godfathers in the corridors of power, including the cultists on the campuses who are the rookies of their bosses in government offices and private boardrooms. How many students who are cultists have been arrested and prosecuted?
How many of their girlfriends have reported them to the police?
Are their girlfriends not the same girls here who collect thousands of naira as cash gifts from them and also collect other expensive gifts from these cultists?
All the Blackberry girls and girls with their expensive Brazilian hair and other fake attachments are the beneficiaries of these cultists who have been kidnapping innocent people and using them for their bloody get-rich-quick rituals in different shrines in Nigeria and later come online pretending to be innocent.
And many of those here reading this gory report are among their beneficiaries, well wishers and employees who never bother to ask the sources of their ill gotten riches, and come here posing and posturing as good people in our midst, but are dogs and vipers on the prowl camouflaging as church going Christians and mosque going Muslims. But by their live styles and what they do indoors they have made Nigeria a bloody nation of bastards, idi-ots breading id-ots and crooks and rogues of all sorts. All those engaged in all forms of malpractices in all spheres of activities in the Nigerian society are as bad and evil as these same cultists. And if we don't expose them all, they will continue with their crimes and evils destroying innocent lives in Nigeria.

@chreld, I really don't bother witb baseless arguments but I thought I'd help u.
1. I did not say her comments were paraphrased, I said 'isn't DIA grammar corrected n paraphrased'?? I was talking generally abt interviewees. Some comments r paraphrased, some r corrected, some r both paraphrased and corrected. It all depends so u should learn to read well.
2. Whether her comments were in quotation marks or not, journalists/proofreaders wil never write bad grammar in their newspapers, if they have to, then a (sic) is put in front of d blunder. That's why I buttressed my point wit interviews wit marketmen, mechanics and co. Do dey speak flawless english? NO. R dere 'sic's in front of their blunders? No, dats evn laughable cuz I can't imagine how many sics u'l see. So wats my point? Whether paraphrased or in quote, d grl's account was corrected by the journalist that got the story from her. below is a quote from Ateke Tom during the amnesty programme published in the vanguard newspaper no October 2nd 2009.

“Make you try help us we the Ijaw people. Try commot us from this problem wey we dey get. Our arms we go drop am like me, I don promise I go drop my arms. Na im make I say make I try come see you talk all our problems dem, try solve am for us, that is why I dey here today”, he said..

Now tell me where the [sic] was inserted in the above qoute. My point is that the girls account of what happened was written like as if it was transcribed exactly the way she narrated it. Which seems a bit advanced for a 13 year old. Thanks for your help! Now you help yourself.

A (sic) wudnt be added because d pidgin English was deliberately used, it is d commoners' way of communicating. It iznt bad grammar per say, @ least not in Nigeria. If d girl had said 'I gone 2 church' or 'she opening my eye', then u think they would have published it lyk dat? Her grammar would def have be refined in this article. Now do me one better, get a link 2 an article that left d marketwoman's or mechanic's grammar and I mean English, untouched and I'l rest my case!
