It's so obvious from the way you write that you can't be well educated. Sold and sold out do not mean the same thing. Genevieve's movie was sold as in its ownership rights were sold to another entity. In showbiz, sold out means the maximum number of tickets to view an event have been sold. It is totally inapplicable in this context.

Secondly, the essence of Funke's achievement is that her movie is essentially the most popular indigenous Nigerian movie ever made by the number of people who have paid to watch it. It has nothing to do with how much Genevieve's movie was purchased for, which is a separate and equally impressive achievement in its own right.
