Nigerians always running to their colonial masters to complain. Why did he not write this in a Nigerian newspaper? Slave mentality

If he has the right documents then he will be compensated. But the public interests override any personal interests. The road is for the good of everyone while the beach is for the interest of a few.
I watched his interview and he has good faith that the govt will do the right thing. He's not claiming to be a victim like some are known for.
If the govt can change the path to accommodate his investment then they should do that. I'm sure that others will also complain if they change the path of the road.
A project of this magnitude cannot be carried out without a serious impact on some personal interests and the environment. But it must be done.

Did you read the write up?

Did you have imaginations of how the road wld be and how much economic value the road will bring. It 5 carriage on each lane. It even has a rail track in between the lanes.

This is a milestone project and it's highly commendable.

Sorry to Mr. Onwuanibe forr your loss. Am sure you will be compensated accordingly.

what will be the economic value that the road will bring?

Yorubas don't have a victimhood slave mentality. We take responsibility for our actions. We don't look for people to blame as some are known to do.
Even when caught selling drugs in far away Thailand, they will still blame Nigeria and the govt for their actions. They will start a war and blame others for the war. The victimhood slave mentality is in theDNA.
Did God create your Yoruba and Igbo to remain forever in one Nigeria?
Mr No Victimhood, why dont you begin to think of how to make your all perfect Yoruba have its country different from an Igbo country? Instead, you are still glued in to check for how to profit more from crude oil in the Niger delta region - Coastal superhighway?

He is an Igbo man. It will be demolished. We've told this people to disregard one Nigeria and invest in the East but they refused

Don't be unfortunate. He's not the only one affected, many more will be affected and compensated across 9 states. The FG has right of way by law. The man has duly and early enough been given the demolition order, which also urged him to file compensation claims. Stop thinking like a termite.

BTW, it's just 50metres into his property. Wonder why he's telling half truth about $200 million like it's the whole property.

Can't the govt find an alternative route for the road? Spending 200 million dollars in one single compensation for a road that will cost a total of 841 million dollars in my opinion is not a wise decision.

Straight road and train from Lagos to Calabar? SMH. Why didn't you ask this dumb question when Amaechi was building railroads from Lagos to the North?

That's his claim, it will be duly valued and paid accordingly just like other government compensations. Government does not just look at cost of projects but investment, development and returns for decades.

Until we team up to send these vampires in government straight to hell where they belong, nothing good will come out from all our struggles and hustle as Nigerians.

You want to send a government planning such a project into hell? Do you know that this project will not only boost economy, increase revenue (Wealth) for Nigeria but will lead to creation of new cities? And let's take away sentiments Igbos stands to benefit most from this. If Tinubu needs 8 years to complete this project, then 8 years he gets as president

Roads are built to connect important cities not just to connect Oil producing Rivers state to Lagos.
Why not build a Lagos-Ijebuode-Benin-Onitsha--Nnewi-Orlu-Owerri-Aba-Portharcourt superhighway?
Wait for your time..When you become the president or minister in future, you can do as you wish by constructing whatever you like.

Lagos–Kano Standard Gauge Railway.

"Valued at over $200 million, according to Onwuanibe, the Landmark site is home to over 80 businesses and provides more than 4,000 direct jobs. It also generates over 2 billion Naira ($1.5 million) in annual tax revenue"

They’re prepared to lose $1.5 million annually in tax and 4000 jobs in these hard times. Why, because Tinubu and his all Yoruba advisers are real dullards who will not stop until they see the country in ruins. Even the CNN reporter is shocked! Funny thing there is, they think they’re dealing with the Igbos, but I bet over 50% of those 4000 jobs sent into the unemployment market will be Yoruba.

As in eh!

Nigerian leaders are so stupid.

All Nigeria needs right now is stable electricity to spur industrialization and economic activities. But no, Tinubu and his band of thieves would rather start a white elephant project because that's where they can easily inflate the budget and loot funds from.

They have no single idea of what makes a country run on autopilot without much dependance on government handout or subsidy.

Such a shameless bunch of people voted into power

This is not about Paul Onwuanibe and his investment because he can file compensation claims and will likely receive it. This is about tearing down a magnificent structure like Landmark, which is such a credit to lagos. They shouldn't try it.
Nigerian govt is dumb, they can still find a way to build that road without destroying landmark beach, they can build a massive fly over across the landmark beach area and continue their road there after.

When he completed the Abuja–Kaduna segment and the Lagos-Ibadan segment, signed billion dollar contracts with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation to complete the remaining segments of the Lagos–Kano Standard Gauge Railway, and was actively looking for funds for these before he resigned. That was when Amaechi WAS BUILDING railroads from Lagos to the North. So, did you ever ask these dumb questions then?
