Dare14: Hello house, i just got a call from safa embassy today to come and pay repatriation fee btw now till weds or else they will deny my the visa, i will be going there tomorrow to make the payment of 110,000 .. hope when i come back from SAFA sha they wont delay in returning the money back to me?
You can only get your money back when you return after which your visa expires or if you cannot wait till your visa expires then you will have to write to the embassy for cancelation of your visa before you can get your money back.

Did you apply as a tourist or otherwise?
Just checking to know if applicants for tourist visa are also required to pay this fee...
All foreigners are required to pay repatriation fee regardless of your visa category except some with exemption. Meanwhile some foreigners without exemption are granted visas (Na your luck but very rare).

After payment you will be given a copy of bank teller but the receipt for the 110k repatriation fee will be issued to you sealed with your visa. Make sure you keep the receipt safe, without the original receipt it will be hard to claim your money when you return.

How much did you pay and who did you pay to? There is nothing like VIP, submission is on the basis of first come first serve notion, you just wasted your money though they facilitated your prompt submission but it's not advisable.

Pls did you apply for the 3 months multiple entry you received or was it just given to you. If yes, can you share what amount of time and the number of entries you requested for when you applied?

SA embassy usually issue 3 months multiple entry to first timer so you don't need to stipilate either multiple entry or single entry in your "Visa Application Letter"

Oh really?! So should that portion of the application just be left blank? For example, I ideally would prefer the multiple entry but, from what you've implied, I'm not too sure whether to ask for a single, double or multiple entry...
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 9:10am On Dec 04, 2012
That reminds me! collinsfbi pls do you suggest that I pay for the entire amountof time I want to stay at a hotel when booking? Since the embassy wants a verifiable booking done directly with the hotel, I'm not too sure if I should pay for the entire month I wanna stay or just for maybe one week, just to be on the safe side in case visa is denied

How Do I Renewal/extension My South Africa Visitor Visa? I've been issued three month visa to South-Africa, How do i renewal/ extension?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by stylz1: 10:05am On Dec 04, 2012
Mr.collinsfbi

You can't just go there on first time, first serve, you book appiontment, and there is VIP mr man, if you can't wait for the crowd before submition..... VIP is very much avialable, and you don't just wake up and start going to the VFS office at asokoro without booking appiontment, I went there by 12pm..

No! you can just pay for a maximum of 5days, therefore you must not state more than 5days in your visa application letter but that doesn't stop you from spending a month or more because you won't be granted anything less than 3 months multiple entry as first timer.

Everyone submitting for the first time is expected to book an appointment, with your appointment, submission is first come first serve but when you get there by 12pm, are you expected to submit your application before those you came earler except if you plan to use what is callled premium lounge service by paying additional 10k which is mere a waste of money and i don't know if this is what you mean by your VIP.

Yes! you will have to pay repatriation (all foreigners) and you can also extend your visa but extension is usually granted on solid and cogent reason according to the terms of section 11(1)(b)(i) of the Act, a visitor’s permit may be renewed upon application. The application in respect of the aforesaid should be submitted at the Regional Director’s office of the Department of Home Affairs nearest to you at least 30 days before your current visitor’s permit will expire.
The prescribed BI-1739 application form accompanied by the following supporting documentation should be submitted:
(a) Passport valid for no less than 30 days after the expiry of intended visit.
(b) Valid permit, in the case of regional office, subject to regulation 18(6).
(c) Payment of the prescribed fee applicable
(d) Proof of financial means, e.g bank statements or undertaking(s) by the host(s) in the RSA
(e) Proof of a return booking with the relevant airline.
(f) A Letter of motivation addressed to the Home Affairs stating the reasons for your extension supported by solid documents

It meant that there were already 25 persons there before me.so we had to wait outside for them to open up.When they eventually came around 7:30am we were all told to go to the third flour and wait at the waiting room. We waited till 9:30am before they attended to us. Went inside submited my documents and I was out by 10:15am. Am so tired now,I can't wait to leave this town(pls pardon my english n spellings)

Yes the VIP means you will pay 10k.I don't see any reason for this cos they don't waste time @ all.
