you were right (Gods time is the best) i am sorry about the refusal. if the child does not av automatic citizenship, not to worry, he/she will get it through other means. certain that the other ones to come will not be a challenge as i am sure you have ganered more experience as to how to go about stuff.

all the best.

Please if you can, take the pain and reapply to abuja. Get the earliest date possible and go for another interview. March is still far and I believe you will have a positive result. Trust God!

I think if a child does not want to be born in US we should respect its wishes. I have been to US and observed things carefully and have come to the conclusion that I will rather be in Nigeria than there. After all, to be rich in America is to have a beautiful house that you cannot afford to stay in because you have to be constantly out working in order to afford the house. Therefore my advice is that you APPEAL rather than go to Abuja, but while making every effort to get a USA visa you should just bear in mind that not getting the Visa may be best for your child if the visa is not granted eventually. Not to be proud, but anytime I visit USA my colleagues there envy me- I work half as much as they do, have a decent house, can visit America in summer, not much of anxiety etc.

Good morning all;
It's clearly stated on the refusal paper given to people that the decision cannot be appealed. However one can get an immigration lawyer to write to them giving detailed explanation and proofing to them that you have strong socio-economic ties to Nigeria.

Yeah, thanks for clarifying that. Immigration lawyer option is what I actually had in mind

Paying for medical services in advance, has it also become a reason for visa refusal May God deliver us from wicked VOs.
My brother, make a move, you'll get it.

uchetobi: @solid homes, buy groceries and cereals so you can be a bit independent of the cooking at your hosts house. Pls dont starve the baby. If you have friends in the US, you can go visit them and come back because hosting a visitor for so long may be tiring on your host, especially since you people are not family and also their financial standing may not b so great. If you cant then support them by doing general cooking twice a week or pitching in with general groceries or so

Thanks, sis. I'm seriously planning how to sanely spend the remaining long months. When are you leaving Naija and where is your destination?

And please, is there anyone in Richmond, Texas presently? Let's plan to form our own birth club here na. This boredom is increasing o.

Happy New Year House,

I was planning to use El-paso but I am beginning to change my mind. I have a place to stay in Houston with a friend but I am worried about the medical bills. Is there any hospital in Houston that will cost approximately $6,000 for everything including circumcision ? I am due in June and I just need to make sure. A fried of mine told me about a Ben Taub hospital close to her house that offers good affordable service. Does anyone know about this place ? I am also very afraid of the Houston POE. Please I need your advice. Thanks a lot.

Hallos good people,
Finally I get to the end of this thread. Been reading from page 1 and honestly I have gained so much Info regarding where to give birth and now I am torn between MIHS, WHMC and ofcourse the highly spoken about Doctores Para Ti.
I had my first baby in DCMH, Delaware County Memorial Hospital Delaware which is a hospital somewhere in philadelphia. The DCMH is just an imitation of the state and not the state so don't be confused. It was 3500 for both doctors and Hopsital fees, although ultrasound, pediatrician and blood work bills came seperately, there were all discounted (can't remember the percentage now) but I didnt pay up to 5000 for the whole process.

There is another hospital called Lankenau Medical Centre also in philly area. i know the hospital fees for uncomplicated womanly delivery is 1000$ and CS is 1300$. I am yet to contact a doctor to see what the doctors fees will be like but will do so once I get into the states.
Just thought I should share since I didn't see any info on people going to give birth around that area Philadelphia, PA. I wouldnt want to go back there because the relatives i have there are not so nice and I wouldnt like to go thru the same treatment especially now that I have a daughter who is very active. I preffer to stay on my own therefore I am looking for other options just have not made up my mind yet on which.

Now my question is, when I was going to have my first child, at the POE in Atlanta, Even though i was quite heavy, I told the CBP i was coming for shopping and she granted me six months no question. From the many refusals I have read on this forum, I am scared on what I would meet at the POE this time incase they ask me why I didnt say if i was going to have a baby the last time I came in. Truly I did a lot of shopping , even bought an SUV from there and a lot of baby items that i shipped in with the car. I have some receipts and pictures to show for that. Can you guys suggest to me how best to answer this question?

Already bought a ticket for Jan 18 and going with husband and daughter. Pls your suggestions will be much appreciated.
Thanks

For houston, budget about 7k but it will still be cheaper than elpaso by the time you add accomodation i think.

However why not ask your friend to go to the ben taub hospital and get precise figures for you so you take it from there.
As for POE, depends on what you said when you got your visa i guess but you can route your entry through any poe and take a connecting flight to houston if it will give you more comfort.

All the best

@debola23, just go with all your previous receipts from your last experience ,I mean anything that has american tax on it, I should believe you would be fine.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by favoredgal: 3:24pm On Jan 07, 2014
@debola23...poe is hotter now i guess but its favor.

Dint they ask you all these questions when you were going to renew your visa? I will say dont sweat it...just make sure you hold your complete reciept from your last birth. I think they will be more concerned about if you paid your complete bill the last time and your purpose this time.

So you may want to get correspondence from a dr and hold enough cash and get your story ready

Hi House,

Is anyone going to San Antonio, Texas? My wife is due in March and would be travelling to San Antonio via Houston next week. She would be staying with a family friend but we have made arrangement for an extended stay in case she does not like it with our friend. We have contacted the Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, and they confirmed that the cost of vaginal delivery is $2650. We are in contact with one of the physician (Dr. Karen Allshup) and the cost of maternity service at her practice is $2200, therefore we would be spending less than $5000 exclusive of any tests that may be required.

Wishing y'all a great 2014.

Thanks favored gal and babababy. I renewed with my husband feb 2013 and I wasnt even close to getting pregnant then. The guy asked for our bills, if i was pregnant and if i planned to have a baby in the US the next time to which i answered that I wasnt pregnant and that its not in our plans to deliver next time in the US but it could happen. And he smiled a bit and approved it for us.
I have never had issues with any POE sha but like you said, its like its really hot now. pray God teaches me how to answer cos I dont know what they will say if i now tell them that Im coming to have another baby now.
I will hol;d all receipts as suggested and keep fingers crossed.

Sounds good, When do you plan to leave Nigeria ? How far is Oakbend from Westheimer ? I'll have to check that myself. Does obgyn/gyn cover pre-natal visits & ultra sounds up to delivery or you have to pay for that separately ?

Nasty comments like this is the reason why most people struggle with opening their doors to visitors from Nigeria. Some of you come with a competitive mindset. Who cares?? Never heard of Doctor's Hospital, Manhattan? FYI, that's where "envied" people go. cheesy
