Bro you don't need to. Do you know how many containers laden with loads overturn on people and end up killing and maiming them in lagos and other places.

If it was a mob action, it will be instanteneous and driven by compassionate anger and a clear cut belief that the killing of the children was a deliberate terrorist act by the driver.

If the driver was taken to a police station as reported, and was taken out by an irate mob for lynching then you should know that it was simply an act of vengeance and not based on what truly happened at the scene. Mob action is immediate and instant, if that was the case he would have been lynched and killed at the scene of the accident not at a police station.

My views, my opinion. God rest the souls of all the dead. May his vengeance be upon all those who participated in the killing of this man if he is not guilty but if he killed those kids deliberately, let the pain he went through in life be just a beginning of all the pains he will.suffer on judgement day.
This is pathetic bro. Quit this sort of thinking.

Why did they kill him after he voluntarily reported himself? Nigerians are angry, thanks to the evil perpetrated by the government. What they did to this man is more of transferred aggression borne out of frustration. How many employed and productive youth will have the time to lynch a man that reported himself? They should have allowed the police to charge him for culpable manslaughter rather than KILL him. His blood is on their heads. RIP to the man
Yet when they see the men responsible for this, they worship them!!! So sad. Whatever happened to the police firing warning shots into the air?? I'm sure they tacitly sanctioned what happened and that was why it happened. The man definitely doesn't deserve this. We are gradually losing every sense of humanity we have becoming more like beasts with every barbaric act we carry out.

This is so disgusting.
May God rest his soul and those of the people whose lives he accidentally took.

Pls quit this line of thought, it's ridiculous.

If I follow your argument and line of thought, you think and feel he deserved what he got?

If your other quote of my post is brought to bear here, you will agree with me that there is need to douse the racial/religious tension in Taraba state. Little acts like this end up throwing up a whole town in conflagration.

Religion has been scaled up as basis of everything in.Taraba state now based on the infighting between the political class. There is so much mistrust amongst people of the state. That is my argument the need to.curb things like this from happening. If the man was in police custody why lynch him there,.that's my point.

This is just the reality. Our value for human lives is graually being eroded. Our Police Force are more of emotional police than professionals. The IPO and the Unit Head of the Police Post need to be arrested and all those on duty in that post as at when the man reported. This is insane, wicked and abnormal.

Anyway I will send you mail shortly.

At least they should have detained him or fire some gunshot to scare the mob and/call for reinforcement. Alternatively, take him to the Division Hq or Area Command.

Firing at an angry mob would only put them in danger, they are humans you know.

Judging from the story the mob came to the post immediately he reported himself so no time to call reinforcement or take him to the Area command

you are just being petty, Nigerians have been lynching and killig people since 1966, was it Jonathan that caused the pogroms in kano which killed thousands of Igbos?

ThT was when the killing gene entered this cou try and they have been killing and lynching si ce then. The blood of the victims of the 1966 pogroms is still crying for vengeance, so killing and lynching will not end in their domain.

Under which law? I know there is culpable homicide and there is manslaughter...there is nothing like culpable manslaughter under Nigerian law. They can only charge him with culpable homicide not punishable with death since it is in the north.

Anyways, @ the topic

The most regrettable part of the whole incident is that the man turned himself in, and the mob were still able to drag him right out of the police station. The question is; what were the police men on duty looking at. It is completely dumbfounding to believe that all the police men in a divisional outpost could not handle a mob of people and watched while a man was put to such a Gory death. The IGP in my humble opinion has to ensure the dismissal of all the policemen for abject criminal dereliction of duty. If the policemen had shot into the air to warn the mob, are they saying the mob would not have dispersed?

The message this inhuman killing will send is that the man should have kept on driving; he should have executed a classic hit and run. His decision to be a law abiding citizen has cost him his life. I thought after the aluu four episode the issue of jungle justice would be a thing of the past in Nigeria but sadly that seems not to be the case.

The greatest irony of it is that the same policemen who could not protect this man from the mob will now be tasked with trying to arrest members of the mob for prosecution.

Come on, they can't fire at the mob. Haven't you seen situations where policemen fire shots into the air to scare/disperse a group of people.
No matter how angry they were, Naija people always run at the sound of live gun shots.

It's very ridiculous to suggest I support his death. You are right about the mutual mistrust among the people but brother it was a mob attack as sponteneous as it gets. Kasimu as the responsible and kind hearted gentleman he's reported himself to the Pupule Police post instead of driving for 5 more kilometres to a more secured police station at Zing or even the college campus in Zing too. The mob didnt know whether he was Muslim or Christian, all they cared is he killed their children. The College has been shut down meanwhile because the people are threatening to attack staff who ply that route daily Muslim and Christian.

save your breath. Jungle justice is embedded in the nigerian psyche since the impunity that followed the civil war. Those policemen will still get heroes burial like adekunle.

What a sad state of affairs. But is it the civil war that has turned us literally into animals who can beat a fellow man to a pulp and then set him on fire without even the tiniest bit of emotion. Its just unbelievable. How did we get to this stage? smh. Maybe illiteracy also has something to do with it. I cant imagine an educated person being part of such a mob. May God help us.

the educated are the worst Instigatotors of jungle justice. During the 1966 pogroms the illetrate poor just obeyed orders to slaughter the infidels. Ditto in Sabon gari, Maitasine, boko haram, abiola riots. Impunity fuels their actions, nobody has ever been punished for lynching people here, since the civil war and the pogroms before it.

The post says that he swerved to avoid hitting a trailer. If you are driving on speed and you have to swerve suddenly it is quite feasible that you may lose control of your car. He probably swerved the car right in the direction of those kids and could not stop the car before running them over.
Do you think this man will see five kids and just decide to deliberately run them over. Besides he is a Muslim and alcohol is forbidden for them.

I am giving you reasons why he most likely would not have been drunk. A drunk man will not run over five kids and still have the sense to go to the police station and report. That doesn't tally at all.
Also if he was drunk, the police and even the mob would have noticed it and it would have been in the article.

What, are Nigerians babies that can't differentiate between bad and good? Put the blame at the foot of where it exactly belongs - the blood thirsty mob and a perverse, violent culture that is Nigerian and African!
