I have tired to get some answers from the Buhari apologist, but as usual, they have nothing to say. My back and fort here was because of the following comment

Let us be sincere - the 2.8billion Dollar case was in 1977. Nigeria's budget was 1.1 billion - how does one "minister" steal 3 years budget?

I that year, Saudi Arabia did not earn 2 billion dollars so how does Nigeria have such. Even 1984 (6+ years AFTER), Nigeria paid just 50 Million Dollars as TOTAL ANNUAL debt.

Let us stop ridiculing ourselves by behaving as if our brains are leaking with these daft stories

My reply to this poster was to remind him that Nigeria earned about $14B from crude oil sales in 1977 . I was actually not correct, Nigeria actually earned about $17B, because after the sharing with the IOCs Nigeria was left with N6,080M as captured by the budget. By the way that is the same thing as N6.08B. I thought the sharing formula was 50/50 instead it was 55/45, because of the 1974 Second Participation Agreement, Federal Government increased their equity to 55%.

The miracle the APC people wanted us to believe was Nigeria did not even earn $1B in 1977, how can $2.8B be missing. Nigeria earned about $17B in 1977, because we collected 55% of the oil revenue which was N6.080M roughly $9.6B.

So, yes, Buhari would not account for $2.8B is not a tale by moonlight.

You insulted yourself on this thread, by displaying your extreme high level of foolishness. Start by telling us again what is N7,791.0 million in 1977 worth in US dollars.

Since no one wants to answer this because it exposes both sides as liars, I'll do the conversion which I know is obvious to all except those too lazy to do it. N7.791M/0.647 = $12b as at 1977.

So please continue the arguments.

You are not very good at mathematics. The calculation is N7.791 x 0.647= $5.04 Million(or billion as per una rate)

Lol. You make such a bold claim that a practicing engineer is not good at simple arithmetic? Or did you fail to see that $1 was worth N0.647 in 1977? Please leave mathematics alone and focus on your politics.

oh I thought it was N1=$0.647. All the same I am still wondering how $12m will become $12 billion(from your calculation), excepte you stored 2 zeroes somewhere.

Fine then, it was 7,791 million naira, which is 7.791 billion naira. I must have mistakenly replaced the comma with a full stop in the numbers, but that doesn't make the final result incorrect.

He owe no one no explanation. Choose what you want to believe. Like he said, he tried severally to give reasons but unreasonable fellow held on to the stereotype of 53 cases. That's all you folks sing all day even after his name wasn't indicted and no money was said to be missing. Generation before, now and after will continue to bear record of the sterlin performance of the General after the several appointment he help.
Interesting. Just like someone here said, it's very easy for APC e minions to believe the unverifiable explanation of Gen Buhari about the missing 55 suitcases and yet very difficult to believe the verifiable explanation by GEJ that the alleged missing $20 billion false claim by Sanusi was not missing even after investigation by the National Assembly. Hypocrisy at its peak. Well as far as we're concerned, Gen Buhari is very Corrupt.

Hmmmm The $20b was missing and that was why Sanusi was sacked.... If not for SA we wouldn't know known about the $9.7m and $5.7m too.

This thread is both hilarious and depressing. A poster told a bare faced lie - that Nigeria did not earn up to $1bn in 1977 - and got at least 13 likes for it. Having told the lie, people like e-gift sought to defend the brazen mendacity but ended up highlighting how innumerate they are.

The reason why it's depressing is that it illustrates the overwhelming power of dishonesty in Nigerian politics. Nigerians simply do not have the intellectual curiousity and the cognitive capacity to distinguish lies from the truth.

The thing with APC e minions is that they thrive in distorted facts and lies to proof their points. If you don't believe in them, you're corrupt. That has been their modus operandi since they were commissioned into the APC e propaganda train.

You may as well give reasons why Sanusi was sacked after he expose the misappropriation. No one is doubting the missing money not even the Economic Minister or NNPC itself except for the conflicting figures they claim Sanusi gave and the fact that they came up with absurd explanation on how some of the missing money was spent. Don't forget also that the Finance Minister had ordered a forensic investigation into the missing fund and how it was spent. When a Petroleum Minister said the ministry chartered an aircraft for a tone of billions or a turn around maintenance of the various refineries were made in billions without any change or progress in the output of its products, then you begin to understand their attempt and frustration to make just about any claim to give reasons how the said money was actually spent just to cover up their mess. If the gov't was honest, Sanusi should have been left to finish what he started, but happen, he was unceremoniously removed while attending national function some where, got his int'l pass port seized, detained and embarrass for what crime other than exposing the rot in the nation NNPC. Those were signs that raised suspicion of fg involvement.
