So the desperation of APC attack dogs have gotten to the level of claiming credit for the working policies of the same president they hate so much?

Shame on you Gbawe. You and other APC attacks spend all your life abusing and insulting GEJ simply because he is not your tribesman but here you are trying to claim credit for working policies. Here you are trying to deny the working automotive policy of the FG all Because of tribal bigotry.
Is Ogun state no longer part of Nigeria? Is GEJ no longer president of Nigeria? When companies are attracted into Nigeria thru the policies of the FG, they are free the set up shop in ANY part of Nigeria

STFU shameless herbalist. Do you know what creating a "conducive environment" means? I.e delivering tangibles like infrastructure essential to business success, security, efficient tax reforms/policies, minimising business bureaucracy/bottlenecks,provision of a dedicated investment enquiry office etc, etc? In so far as even your paymaster (GEJ) has admitted directly that Amosun created the conducive environment that is now seeing investors choose Ogun as their number preferred destination in Nigeria then I have nothing to discuss with a wretched and hungry fool like you.

You can play the ethnic card all day but the bottom line is that no one asked you to support a grossly failed leader who is condemned even beyond Nigeria and Africa. When the Ghanaian Professor Ayittey condemned GEJ did he do it because GEJ is not his "tribesman"? How about Cameron? He too demanded accountability from the ultra-corrupt GEJ because he is Yoruba? Hilary Clinton is a Hausa lady and hence the reason she concluded that the GEJ government is not "serious" about fighting corruption? People like you are the real problem of Nigeria. You are shameless and I am sure those related to you in real life must be ashamed of your highly unprincipled, sycophantic and dishonest nature.

It's is actually appalling seeing APC maggots on this thread trying strenuously to downplay the FG automotive policy that has seen a rise in automobile assembly plants in Nigeria , specifically in the South western axis . . . .

Walahi Joathanians and TANDroids are really 'dense' cavemen with no clue as per how the world functions . Even within the article, it is crystal clear Governor Amosun unambiguously enunciates the reasons these Automobile brands chose Ogun State. Pointless attempting mischief over what is clear and straightforward simply because of clannish and ethnocentric support for an ultra-corrupt and hideously failed leader.

Governor Amosun, who expressed satisfaction for the choice of Ogun state by these automobile companies, explained that the location of‎ both local and foreign industries to the State in recent times, “is a testimony to the latest ranking by the World Bank report on doing Business in Nigeria which listed Ogun as one of the five most improved states in Nigeria.

For instance, when privately owned power companies begin to proliferate in your tribal enclave courtesy of the power reforms of GEj, I'll be here waiting to embarrass you again. One has just opened up shop in Edo state. TANdroids are simply too 'thick' to take seriously. Good policies have never been the issue with Nigeria. Beyond the policies are the sincerity and delivered results which convince FDI to take us seriously and not head to Ghana or Uganda. Whether some clannish illiterates wish to admit it or not, it is crystal clear to the entire world that Amosun's driven and focused leadership has made Ogun State, according to a world bank report, one of the "five most improved States in Nigeria" to the extent serious investors now see the State as probably the number one destination in Nigeria for their investments.

Shall we start inspecting laudable policies from various Nigerian government that still did not convince many foreign investors to come to Nigeria simply because the on-the-ground conditions and realities did not match what these investors were looking for? This is a lesson for all Nigerian States. they need to learn from the approach of Amosun which relied heavily on courting FDI via the delivery of all that was missing in the past which made investors overlook Nigeria. As examples, can we imagine the massive influx of high-level FDI Nigeria would witness if the FG sincerely tackled insecurity, power shortage, corruption and deficient transport infrastructure?

Can we not all remember when Okonjo-Iweala was appointed a Minister by GEJ and she went on a charm initiative, highlighting positive policies and plans, to attract top-line investments from the George Soros of the world only for those people to tell her and Nigeria that many conditions on the ground were not even near optimal enough to attract them? Why did those investor not just simply plunge their capital into Nigeria as Okonjo-Iweala tried to make them do with her presentation and policy drive? TANdroid mumus. Investors do not follow 'talk' and goodwill policies alone which are never in short supply anywhere in the world. They go where efforts and reality on the ground assure them a good ROI (returns on investment). That is the business and economic reality sentimental and unintelligent TANdroids will never accept.

Ogun attracted $10bn investment in 36 months – Amosun
Posted by CM in Biz & Economy Sep, 26 2014 No Comments
Gov. amosunLAGOS – Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State on Friday said the state had attracted investment worth up to $10 billion (about N162 billion) within 36 months.

Amosun disclosed this at a forum jointly organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the Senate President, Chief David Mark.

He was represented at the forum by the state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Chief Bimbo Ashiru.

He said that the investment came from about 50 companies that invested in the state within the last two years.

“Before now, Ogun was nowhere in the investment circle, but today I can boldly say that we have risen to be among the first 10 investment-attracting destinations.

“In the last 36 months, over 50 companies have invested in Ogun, and the investments are worth up to $10 billion.

“The state government has made this possible through its efforts in creating an enabling environment that would attract local and foreign investors,” the governor said.

He urged the Federal Government to endeavour to provide sufficient infrastructure to encourage investment in the country.

Amosun said that lack of good roads was a major heartache for most business owners and multinationals, and called on the federal government to urgently repair and construct major roads in the country.

He advised key players in the private sector to support the government through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, adding that government should not be left alone in providing for citizens welfare.

“It is important for local and foreign investors to earn the trust of the government especially in the time of transition to a new government.
“Infrastructure is also an area where the government needs to work on to promote investment, poor infrastructure like bad roads are the bane of any investment climate.

“While this is established, it is also necessary to point out to multinationals and key players in the private sector to lend their support to the government in the form of their CSR initiatives.

“In doing this, the CSR should be done with the stakeholders or host communities leading the way.

“CSR should really be areas where the beneficiaries have identified as a need, and should also be a sustainable venture, not just something that will not last,” he said.

Amosun urged the private sector to partner with the government to promote good governance and citizens’ welfare. (NAN)

The auto policy of the Jonathan/Sambo team continues to yield steady results with promise of youth employment. Unlike the clueless military DICTATORS who were simply importing cheap & cheerful things that killed off our industries.

Hopefully our state governors and LGA chairmen who have the constitutional responsibility to educate ALL our children will emphasise VOCATIONAL and TECHNICAL schools & colleges to provide a pool of employable people.

I wonder why the South South governors are not competing to have these plants located in their areas where they also have seaports
There is an urgent need to DIVERSIFY our industrial development away from over-saturated Lagos axis.

Are you guys serious?
So some people are daftt enough to credit the paradigm shift in the automobile industry to ogun state govt?
I remember just recently amosu credited and suported the new automobile policy by the FG.
Anyway, i expect the kaduna state govt to claim the credit for the restoration and activation of PAN assembly plants.

They were coming already, they didn't need any invitation.

I've been aware of this since 2006. After their highly sucessful foray into India, China etc, they stated that Nigeria was part of the next incursion plans.

Follow Autocar.co.uk, Topgear.com, Car magazine.com, Car buzz.com, motor trend.com for more information of expansion plans of the automobile industry.......Not random information released by the half baked illiterates in power.

You guys should just be sincere for once. How come these plants only started flooding the country within this year, if it had nothing to do with the automotive policy? How many functional car manufacturing/assembly plants were in this country as at 2 and more years ago?

As for the choice of Ogun state, it's simply due to it's proximity to Lagos. It's very difficult to acquire a sizeable portion of land for building of new industries in Lagos now, since Lagos is very much congested. Companies and individuals now buy land and build in Ogun state. Even my cousin who trades in Computer village has built a house in Ogun State, because land is cheaper there. As a city expands, it encroaches into adjacent areas. Lagos is simply encroaching into Ogun, just like the development of Abuja is opening up parts of Niger state like Suleja and Madalla, and parts of Nasarawa like Keffi, Mararaba.

If it was just about south west, I can bet you they would have been establishing their facilities in Ibadan.

And if it is a Policy wat did the FG did to enhance this Policy as far as I'm concerned eletricity is worse than it was and no good roads yet.

This is a good news. Ogun is fast developing, Nestle and other Chinese companies are already in Obafemi Owode local government that house numerous Estates. The road to the state from Lagos and Ibadan is going through serious expansion and transformation.
