Haaa Yes ooo. August 23rd 2014, aero contractor los- abj 2.45pm. I remembered that saturday. My 10mnt old girl(as at then) and I was to travel to abuja from lagos to visit hubby after 7 months of not seeing each other. Since our flight was scheduled for 2.45pm, I decided to leave the house by 11am believing that by 1pm, I should be at the airport. Well that was my own calculation, little did I know that lagos roads are unpredictable. I got into a cab from lekki and on our way going, we encountered series of traffic on the island. I started shivering, infact I begged God to clear the roads for me and my daughter. 12pm, I was still on the Island. Then the road got cleared, we encountered another one at oshodi bridge. I looked into my wrist watch, it was 1pm. I wasnt myself anymore, the cab man kept on assuring me that I wont miss my flight. By 1.30pm, we passed through airport junction. We encountered another traffic at the toll gate. Exactly 2.pm, we got to the airport. I immediately carried my girl and jumped out of the car. The driver droped my luggage and the drove off. I rushed to the aero contractor stand. I saw people on the line and also a tag los-abj but this time around, 4.45pm. I met the personnel at the counter and told them my flight is for 2.45pm and they were like, ''sorry madam, the plane just left''. I was like, ''it's not possible, it's just 2.15pm''. I begged them, i told them to consider my girl but they said there was nothing they could do. I also saw some persons begging and some even came after me. We were 7 that missed the flight. We were directed to their ticket desk. On getting there, we were asked to pay N7000 each. God, I was left with N1000 on me. I felt so stranded with a 10month old baby. I begged them, I told them I had no money but to them, there was nothing they could do. I was so helpless. I just didnt know if Im to cry. 1000 naira wont take me back home. I called hubby, I told him I missed my flight and I was told to pay N7000. At first he was angry, then he said I should get money from whosoever is coming on the same flight to abuja and he will refund the money when we arrive at abuja airport. Lo and behold, a young guy in his 20s walked up to me and asked if I missed my flight. I said yes and he said he missed his flight too. I told the guy I was stranded and that my hubby said I should get someone to pay that the money will be refunded on getting to abuja. The guy told me to join the line, he went straigt to the ATM, he withdrew some money and then gave me N7000. I thanked him like there's no tomorrow. I was given another ticket and I checked in. I went again to thank the guy. When it was time, we boarded the plane... The plane landed, I quickly got up so as to remind the guy that my hubby was waiting outside but the guy was no longer there. I got down from the plane, we were to be screened for ebola before we can pass through the arrival lounge. We were on a line, I looked for this guy, I didnt see him. After my daughter and I has been screened, I went out thinking the guy must be outside waiting for his money, he wasnt there. He left! Hubby came, helped with the luggages, asked of the guy who helped me. We looked for him but we didnt find him. I was shocked. N7000, just like that from a total stranger? Then I said to myself, he must be an angel. Hmmm with all this experience, I Swear I no go Miss my Flight Again!!!
Lol madam na me be the guy where my money

Missed Arik from LHR to LOS due to one stupid taxi driver wey go carry me pass the worst possible route. The annoying thing is I 'advised' him we should go through the city but he insisted on taking his prefered route.

As the guy na senior Naija bros, I no too argue. When himself see say the traffic wey we enter no get part 2, he parked his car at the side of the road and escorted me on public transport. We took the train, Tube, Heathrow Express and then Heathrow Connect but by the time I got there, check in was closed cry

I begged the check in staff and she gave me a boarding pass but wouldnt check in my luggage. This wasnt of any use as my mate was getting married in 2 days and all his and the groomsmen gear was with me so I needed my luggage to go with me.

Arik werent flying for the next 2 days so I had to buy a new one-way ticket with a different airline for the next morning for £550 and also paid £100 for a Premier Inn.

The most annoying thing is I bought the ticket like 6 months earlier to get a cheap price but I ended up spending business class money on 2 tickets.

I swore never to use Arik again but I just bought Arik again yesterday for a flight 6 months away. If you see the price difference between Arik and BA/Virgin, you self go fear fear.

cheesy grin ;DCan't stop laffn over Ur narrative.U are such a funny lady,I have to reread dis thrice.
MsNas:
Na today? Just smile and cook a really tantalizing story for the airline reps and they will put you on the next flight direct or if you meet some stronghead ones they will put you on a wait-list. That is when I start to pray that the people on the flight I've been put on the waitlist for don't all showup for their flights grin

Two times prior, I had deliberately missed my flight cos the return was way too early in the morning and I couldn't be bothered. I was flying with United and I knew they always operate multiple flights from Houston, so I wasn't bothered. The last time I did it, It nearly backfired grin As usual, we booked an early morning ticket cos it was cheaper and I was still snoozing when my flight was taking off. Okay oo, I go airport, na so I jam Asian at the ticketing counter. And Asian ladies ehn lipsrsealed lipsrsealed She refused pointblank, even after I don cook my regular story and even complimented her horrible wristwatch grin Say the most she can do I put me on a waitlist oo

Okay, she put me on a waitlist and I went to the gate to wait. 6 hours at Dallas Fort Worth isn't a good experience cry , I dey monitor the board and saw my name as number one on waitlist. Cool. Flight came and the normal people boarded.. something just made me glance at the board and I saw my name on number 6 on the waitlist and another Asian at the check-in counter had done some miracles and checked in 5 people who were below me on the waitlist and pushed me to number 6. Trust Naija girl, see shouting for the woman. I'm sure the lady must have been scared I might start shoting or something. Jejely, she looked for a seat(extra legroom seat with blankets and screens o) for me and allow me go. See speed grin I vamoozed before she changed her mind.

That one teach me lesson, but e no mean say I no go miss my flight again. I'm a serial offender grin grin I'm still waiting for the day I will miss my flight and they will upgrade me to first class on the next flight. It's gon be epic! Enough booze and all the perks of flying first class

I have also been stranded in DC before because KLM delayed my flight from Amsterdam and I had missed my connecting flight from DC. I spent the night in Dulles, in the airport lounge and it was damn cold. It was later that I realized I should have gone back to the KLM counter and demanded they put me in a hotel and pay f or my flight the next morning

Never missed a flight. I'm always at the airport 2 hrs before check in. A hustler has no business with too much grammar over his money mehn.

I made a vow last year never to fly again except I am going the international route.

Boarded an arik to ph and our flight was delayed for 30 minutes. We were later checked in but was trapped inside the plane for another 1 hour. According to the pilot, there is a terrible turbulence up in the sky but after a long wait, we were cleared to take off after chachangi flew...Omo...see airplanes line up behind us like a taxi park. Hardly had our plane lift ...the gbege started. People have you experience your flight gaining altitude and yet hit by serious turbulence? I mean in nose upwards position? It was a terrible nightmare.

For 25 minutes into the flight, pilot was fighting with the plane, passengers were praying in diverse tongue and I said to my self....why purchase my death with my own money.

I laugh off that experience nowadays.

To be sincere..d last time I missed a flight was really d fault of d conductor of d plane..conductor give me my change he refused, give me my change he refused, so I chose to come down and dey said it was possible. D back seat I was stayin, d window was open and I had to escape frm there, that's how I missed d flight.

It is almost normal for me to miss my flight but the most painful was one which wasn't my fault. I was going to Canada via New York however, Arik Air delayed us for over 5 hours at MMIA. The worst was that Arik never bothered and Delta said they could do nothing since it was an International Flight.

Missed a flight earlier this year, partly my fault partly the airline or the website

So used to booking everything online, even the cab company called to offer my 5am pick up as there might be traffic mbaa, I no gree I chose 6.45 instead, hoping to complete check in on the way to the airport and spend 15mins max.

Na so wahala start o, phone was playing up, couldn't complete check in. got to the airport few minutes past 8..instead of going straight to the counter to do the usual queuing up, I was fiddling with my phone, still no luck, started looking for their self check in machines, the problem was their website!! eventual queued up and was told they can only check me in without my luggage or book next day!

Went to the customer service complained I have been trying to check in since midnight, even arrived at the airport at 8am! she explained they were having problems with their website blah blah promised to check me in only to find out i have huge bags duuh im going to naija! Only solution was to get the flight next day or spend a day in Amsterdam and get the flight next day....didn't want to make the long journey back home since i was already in holiday mood...told her to put it on hold until i can book a reasonable hotel near Schipol airport. Na so I enter next flight o

Guess what!! When i got to Amsterdam the connecting flight was still there, checking in was in 10minutes!! started running to the gate hoping to convince the staff since I had my booked seat and other details on my phone, then theres the problem of my luggage it's just coming out of the other plane and check in will be over before i can get them them transferred. they were very helpful actually offered to send my luggage to Lagos if I check in without them!! it dawned on me I wont get the same customer service in las gidi, visit one office here, one office there, Oga is not on seat etc etc ....

stuck to the plan got the shuttle to the hotel rest my head, went to town briefly, smooth flight next day!

Had horribly experience with Lufthansa 2 years ago, bad customer service, just left slept at the Airport as I only took naija passport

KIX-DOH-LOS in 2012 i think.

The flight from KIX left 5hours behind schedule. This meant that i wouldnt catch the connecting flight leaving for Lagos.

As soon as i got to Doha, I just went straight to the transfer desk and asked to be put on another flight because of their negligence.

They promptly responded to my request and placed me and others on an emirates flight to dubai and on to lagos. funny enough, that

was my first time of trying out qatar airways.
