No doubt I grew goose pimples for Akpabio and his works .... Hell yeah , I love his wife too and that stadium is one of the beautiful thing to have happened to Nigeria in a very long time !!

Only that Akpabio is a basket mouth other than that ... I would vote him !!

Bros, d only thing wey i see for ur entire long write up b big big grammars. My question is, as a person that you are, considering that everything mustnt be left for government, what have u done to help alleviate the suffering and poverty status of Nigerians which unfortunately the major percentage fall under this category?
Am doing the best I can for now in my own little way. Am not an NGO yet neither am I in the government or civil service. Am still a pleb coming up promisingly to assist my fellow Nigerians. Thanks.

It's a nice stadium, but I think we're making a bit too much of it. It is afterall just a 30,000 capacity stadium. If it was say 50 or 60,000, THEN we could rate it as the best around these parts. It's lookalike, Soccercity Stadium in SA has a capacity of 84,000. THAT'S what we mean by a proper world class stadium. This Akwa Ibom stadium feels uncomfortably like they tried to build 'world class' on the cheap.

I am sure this is the final way to clean (uncommon transformation / uncommon looting) the treasury ahead of 2015.Even the National Stadium in Abuja built by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at N63billion did not receive this kind of attention.

Anyway, lets wait for Rivers State to commission its own ultra-modern world class stadium soon.

Nigeria is really an underdeveloped country and majority of the governors are backward.
A state governor builds an ordinary stadium with questionable contracts and he is being celebrated here like he has built the 8th wonder of the world and with such an elaborate ceremony, because of ordinary stadium.
Bush people in the jungle suddenly transported to the 21st century.

There is not a single spectacular building in the entire country. grin

Role call by all Head of parastatals and commissioners.

Intend turning it to match Amaechi's crowd which wowed the PDP. They've mustered crowd from Cross-river and wIKE packing people from Rivers too. even redundant T.A orji is mobilizing crowd.

I think you are making too much about the size thing, being a world class arena is not so much about size but the quality of the infrastructure. can you point to any stadium in West Africa that has the kind of facility in the Akwa Ibom Stadium? this is an architectural masterpeice that can be celebrated anywhere in the world. How many stadiums in Africa besides South Africa Has the kind of Facade that this stadium has?
The size is not the main or only criteria when you are rating a stadium, A stadium can be big and totally useless.

I bet you have not been inside this stadium, and I dont think your opinion superceeds that of guys who know more about stadiums and sports like charles anazodo, segun,Peter rufai,Stephen keshi Taribo west, Paul bassey, etim Esin etc whose proffession is sports and they have been in most of the big time stadiums across the world. After visiting these stadium, they all conclude this is a world class facility. I will take the words of this professionals anyday, because they know what they are talking about.

What is that on the image? Why wouldn't I speak on the deplorable condition of Nigerian infrastructure? They are rhetorical questions though. I am having a fever after seeing that particular image. What is going on? What is wrong with Nigerian leaders?! I wish I can get rid of all of them. Those corrupt people stealing the fund meant for the development of that country while the ignorant and diseased youths fight themselves in the squalor of the country for them. Bleh! Sh*t! I want to guess that in South Africa where they have Soccer City, Peter Mokohba, Moses Mabida stadia and a host of other stadia, everyone has a job, all the roads are tarred and good, everyone has running water etc. I also want to guess that in Brazil where 12 stadia were built for the WC and which is going to host the Olympic games in 2016 everything is available eh?

The construction of that edifice in Uyo put food and will be putting food on the tables of thousands of Nigerians. Julius Berger isn't going to import people from Mars to maintain the stadia, it's Nigerians that will be used to do that and they will get paid. Isn't good that we have such an edifice which even foreigners are applauding? Malik Jabir the Coach of Ghana said he wished they have such in Ghana. What else do you want?

Appreciate good thing for once.
