What's with these 'pastors' and private jets?... If they love the common man so much why don't they take regular flights like everyone else? It's just a case of creating a clear distinction between the fleecer and fleeced...

I dont know this chap but I read on Forbes that Folorunso Alakija (Africa's richest woman) was one of the top speakers at the conference he was to host and was headed to.

Now we all know that Alakija was a tailor who miraculously became Africa's richest woman in about 10 years. Without having invented anything noteworthy or patented any medicine that cures a debilitating disease, I think it is safe to conclude that her money isnt clean.

I am disappointed she was listed as one of the top speakers at a Christian conference. They may as well invite Abramovic next year

Very little understanding of the things of God. Christianity is and remains a faith. I always say this. It is not the 'results' that matter. It is the process. I often hear people say, they only live to make heaven. Well the bible says of Jesus. This is my Son in whom I'm well pleased, speaking of Jesus. There is no Christian, Christianity or believer in heaven. What makes us is our faith here on earth. That despite these things we remain resolute in our trust, walk and worship of God Almighty.

Contrary to popular belief, my opinion after several years of walk with God is this: there is nothing on earth a Christian cannot possibly experience. Ours is not a faith that shields from any and every eventuality all the time. Trials and temptations do and will come in various ways but the truth is that we glorify God by being His DESPITE it all.

God knew this will happen to the Munroes before they were born. He is the same God that made Munroe what he is today so we cannot say He was partial, insensitive or wrong not to warn him of it or as some say prevent it. If Munroe had a calendar before him with a set date with death will he have been the Munroe we know, certainly not for his life will not be one of peace, joy, faith, love and other beautiful fruits of Christianity but that of constant fear, dread and sadness at the coming calamity. His life will be messed up. This is another misconception in Christianity, that Jesus died and by violence so no Christian should. What do we say of Paul's writings to the Romans then. What God did in Christ that we are exempted from is the dread of death that only Jesus ever had to endure by 'knowing' when and how it will happen and still trusting God at His Word. No Christian today has to exercise that sort of faith thanks to Christ.

We have a chance at trusting God and walking by faith because there are certain things we cannot know and cannot do. Anything contrary is just spiritual rascality. No matter how loving you are as a parent you will never be able to tell your child everything about life and living but you will want that child to trust you in every decision even though sometimes it hurts.

Faith pleases God.

Spare me the sermon dude. The number of years you've walked with GOD is immaterial. I could school you on spiritual matters. Truth breaks bones. Once again I echo it categorically that a red light must have been beaten, a red line must have been crossed, a red flag must have been ignored. What a miserable death for an entire "priesthood" family in one day! (1Samuel 2:27-36; 4:17-18; Acts 5:1-10).

I don't know you Myles but it seems you've touched so many lives which is the essence of life.

Tears fill my heart as we mourn the loss of a great man and gift to the body of Christ. He was in our church last year and the year before that. He came with his daughter. This a rude shock. I still mourn the loss of pastor Bimbo. These were people who made a difference in the lives of millions. May they rest in peace in the bosom of our Lord.

Remembering Dr. Myles Munroe (1954 – 2014)

Prolific best selling author and internationally renowned preacher and business coach, Dr. Myles Munroe of Bahamas Faith Ministries International and his wife Mrs. Ruth Ann Munroe, died in a plane crash earlier today in the Bahamas. According to The Associated Press, the plane, a Lear Lear 36 executive jet, reportedly struck a crane at the Grand Bahama Ship Yard, exploding on impact and crashing into the ground near a junkyard area.

The Bahamas Ministry of Transport and Aviation reported that the Lear 36 executive jet departed the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) in Nassau, Bahamas at 4:07PM for the Grand Bahama International Airport, a privately owned international airport in Freeport, Bahamas with nine people on board.

The plane crashed while making an approach for landing at Grand Bahama International Airport at 5.10pm, the Ministry of Transport and Aviation said. The crash killed all nine people on board the private jet. The identities of the other people on board have not yet been confirmed. The cause of the crash was not immediately determined, though there had been heavy rain across the region. A full investigation is expected to begin on Monday.

The crash occurred as people were gathering in Grand Bahama for Dr. Munroe’s 2014 Global Leadership Forum which starts tomorrow, November, 10. Former mayor of Atlanta and former U.S Ambassador to the United Nations, Andrew Young scheduled to speak at the popular leadership forum, released the following statement through his foundation: “Ambassador Young expresses his deep sadness over the tragic death of his friends Dr. Myles and Mrs. Ruth Munroe. He offers condolences to the Munroe family and the families of the other souls who lost their lives as a result of this shocking plane crash.”

Africa’s richest woman and oil mogul, Mrs. Folorunso Alakija is also expected to speak at the leadership forum.

Known for his work and teachings on leadership, purpose and maximizing your potential, vision, individual and national transformation, Dr. Munroe was the senior pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship, where his wife, Ruth Ann, served as co-senior pastor. They leave behind two children, daughter, Charisa and son, Chairo (Myles Jr.) Munroe.

Dr. Munroe died living out his purpose in life; spreading the gospel of Christ.

Oh, come on! Almost everybody,irrespective of religious belief,religious affiliation or non-belief, can relate to a lot of the things Dr Munroe spoke and wrote about. We all ask ourselves existentialist questions like:

"what is the purpose or essence of my life?"
"what potentials do I have?"
"how can I maximize my potentials?"

I'd be lying if I said he didn't affect my life positively. It doesn't matter to me whether he was a pastor or not. I am simply being objective.
