Good day my oil folks, I have being following this thread religiously,but I have never seen any post that addressed my challenge. I am a graduate of physics science and currently doing my master in information technology, and currently work in a media house but want to work oil industry, my questions go thus; 1. Can my b.sc in physics (2.2) get me job without experience in oil industry? 2. Can I go for another master precisely geophysics in order to get a job in the industry? 3. Which field would anyone recommend that my IT and numeracy skills will complement? 4. What are the short courses that will land me job in oil industry before I get my master in oil related course? Hi Professionals, I am a Chem Engrg gradt wt 2.1. I did my internship wt TEPNG, PHC under d Drilling and Completions Division. I hv worked at OML 58 for well services operations (slickline) and OML 136 for drilling operations. I hv intense passion for drilling and well services and wants to secure a career job in it. Please, kindly advise me accordingly. |

uokide: Your issue is same everywhere, the difference is to know how to apply for a specific post and model for cv and abilities in that angle. No news it takes the grace of God to get a job in Nigeria but then again most HR find it difficult making job placements. I am a geologist with vast experience not only in the oil industry but other aspects too. Don't limit your search to oil and gas. In all try understand the following; Qa/Qc Hse Procurement Logistics Operations Maintenance Sales departments in certain firms and know how you can fit in. Never apply again as a geologist cuz those of them there don't wanna leave. Henree: Henree: Let me believe you already have the above listed work experience, in that case there's need for you to pray and try making some diplomatic moves. I don't know how financially buoyant you're but I'll advice you take charge and do some serious job hunting with the company you did internship with. All the best my friends 1 Like |

Good morning all, Pls I need advice from professionals here. There is a training that would commence in december : Design of subsea risers and mooring lines, I would want to go for. I have done a little research on subsea risers and mooring lines and it seems like a profitable venture. My questions are would you advise someone with no experience to attend such training?, are there demand for people that have undergone such training. I am a geophysicist by training (MSc) and currently an aspirant looking to kick of a career in industry. @ Cpumping, I also believe all training is good but I think it also depends on your discipline since experience is lacking. In this case such training should complement an engineering or physical science degree |
