I guess u're a new user of windows phone, cos the only point u've is about network which depends on ur network carrier not the phone
Also the slow transfer of files to a WP is due to scanning process of each file which makes ur device from virus.

when u talk about application resuming, i guess most of ur app are not with the latest update cos 85% of all the app runs smoothly and free from lags even BBM

when u compare Operating system Windows phone is far better than android and Blackberry Phones

since 2012 I change my phone every 3-5 months due to one problem or the other while using blackberry and android phones but since Feburary i got this lumia 820, i never felt like changing my phone cos windows phone really meet 92% of all my need from a phone especially with the phone speed and notifications
abegi, what are you saying ke? Don't ever compare windows with Android ,ever again! A phone that if you download say a PDF file, you don't know where it is. You can only view it with Adobe(or any other PDF reader). You don't know where downloaded files go. I downloaded a zip file with uc browser, with the hope of sending it to the system. Till today, I don't know where it is. I can only check what's inside the zip from the download history of UC. You have to developer unlock the phone before you can install apps not from the store and so on. Windows is better than Android Not even close!

wp8.1 if its what u running, takea care of your complaint about file managing. it lets download n upload via browser any file type suported by the os. There's an app called files: a file manager in the store, download it to be able to manage your files on wp. In uc browser, once u download a content, press n hold the file for an option to appear. You'll see export amongst other options. select it in other to be able to send the file to your phone system. use the file app to be able to view where it is on your phone. mind u, for every app or media file or whatever u download with uc browser n export, it makes a duplicate. so after exporting, its better to delete the original file within the uc browser in other to save memory.

My brother don't mind these peeps here, they taught im novice when it comes to using smartphone.... I have used virtually all OS even the almighty iOS and i can tell you the difference.

They are making people looks like window phone is the classic fone in town now.

For you info, I sell mobile gadget and I can tell you hundreds of areas where window 8 phone is lacking behind.... Now look at the much hype delim update... Noting is changing like what people are anticipating.

Do you the latest trend in town now about window 8 phone.... It is the speakers and headphone issue. You will plug in your headphone and when you remove it. The outside speakers stops working... I search google yesterday and come and see thousands of people having this problem from different device. Well Microsoft claim it is software issue that next update will fix it.

It was yesterday that I discovered the soft solution to it... I almost look like a lier yesterday when I wanted to sell Lumia 1020 to someone and the speaker stop working but thank God I was able to explain to the guy on how to manually do because it is just a software issue and not hardware.

If I'm lying just search google"Nokia Lumia speakers not working after using Headphones" and see comments.

If it comes to Os rating.

iOs no one

Android second

Blackberry 10.1 third

Windows follows.

You can still quote and attack me with your lectures.

If you like condemn Windows, if you like, place it on number 10 on the list, that doesn't change my love for the phone, suffice to say that we all CANNOT make the same choice. I have used all the OSes you listed above, but I'll just stick with Windows any day, anytime. Stick with your Android. This thread is not for comparisons.

....and

The fact that most users are on BB and Android doesn't make them any better. I have used Android and seems to have explored every corners of it.

We know peeps who have used Windows and you don't sound like one even though you sell them.

Make we hear word abeg.

Stick to your old BBM as the new update isn't compatible with most windows including mine

Thank God is not that guy that posted this, i would have bash him.

Now you have seen for yourself another area window phone is lacking behind. Is app creation meant for a particular mobile device or current OS running on a particular device?

Some app will tell you, this is not meant for lumia 610 though the app says phone runing 8.1 and if lumia 610 is running 8.1 and also lumia 520 running 8.1, why cant app running on lumia 1020 using 8.1 run on both 619 and 520? Another flaws

If samsung galaxy 5 and techno phantom runs same OS kitkat... They can run same app despite the cost and spec.

Hope you get me right coz i have saw many app review on window app store complaining of this jargons.

I was even the first person that posted the New BBM update here weeks ago. I dont complain of lagging after i upgrade my BBM using OS 8.1 but i saw so many ppl complaining here even on window store. So dont tell me crap or lecture me when it comes to window 8 OS

You just posted the above using a Windows Phone? Seriously? Then what's your problem?

Hmm, you're hit. I can imagine.

Like I said, WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT CHOICES, if not, everyone of us would be on Android or iOS by now. Remember, what works for James Bond might never work for Nicolas Cage

My point is, Windows is working for me, Same goes for a lot of others here, kapish?!

By the way, Windows ain't okay, yet we got manufacturers churning out different devices every now and then with people going for them... and you sit somewhere crying about what's not right.

I'm done trading words here. In case you don't know, #ThatIsNotWhyImHere.

Next!

And by the way, the first time I read from you, you were also doing this same complains about your adored Android - and thank God you confirmed it. Hey, you can do better. Peace. cheesy

no one is trying to make WP look the best but all we saying is WP is kinda like the middle ground btw ios n android; definitely not on par when app issues are concerned. For the problem with the Lumia headphones, that's gotta be a bug or a firmware problem that can be fixed via an update or through workaround. WP 8.1 is an OS update by OS vendor while Lumia cyan, black, denim, etc are firmware update by manufacturer, so they're both different. And pls, don't compare WP to blackberry again. I agree android n ios are big guns but BB? Nah! Even WP has surpassed it in user base. African market is the only thing saving bb from folding up of which the rise n likes of low budget phones from android camp by new players like tecno n co.,are pushing bb figures further down. WP is unique in its own way.

so, to see any file I d download; I need to use Uc. Also,I have the"files" application and the only system folder it can manage are the documents, pictures, videos & music. I'm not saying windows phone is bad(after all I'm using it) But it's not on the same level with Android and IOS (and Microsoft knows it)

we saying the same thing. wp isn't yet on the level of IOS and android but its getting there. if you gonna blame WP for file managing, then u can as well blame IOS and it's restriction too but does it make ios a weakling compared to android? No. WP strikes the balance btw ios n android. wp10 will be out by next year and its microsoft card to bring it up to par with other oses in terms of app parity esp. with the much touted unification that'll make one app for all in wp n windows. Wp8.1 update 2 will be out by december and should bring more fixes n features to the os. No one is promising paradise yet on WP but for the non tech geeks out there, it should satisfy consumers.

I swear dat tin is very annoying especially when u download a video to d internal memory of the phone u won't see it in ur video player u have to watch it on ucbrowser or export to d SD card to watch it on ur video player, u will even download some videos and dey won't play or it will even say file does not exist after downloading and wasting ur data. sometimes i regret selling my android to buy this Lumia the only thing i like about my lumia is d camera, Xbox music, Xbox video and cortana. if u use an iPhone i guess you'll be ranting the whole day cos they both similar with WP edging out a little over IOS in terms of flexibility. one thing u should know, IOS n WP will never be like android in the way it works so don't expect the mode of operations to be same for all just cos u coming from the android camp. WPn IOS are designed that way on purpose so as to prevent malware.

all u guys here bashing windows phone are funny. where were u when android and ios first came out? nowhere. i technically have used all oses to the max and i know where windows phone flaws others to a pulp. android has an advantage over every other os because of its customizability, yet it's super vulnerable. i can categorically tell u not even android, or ios were on the level windows phone is on now at the time they just came out. this is a thread for windows phone users i must say. respect the fact that we have a thread and move over silently.

cortana doesnt understand nigerian english yet so change ur region and language to usa. you may have to download the usa english language if its not already there. then restart ur phone. cortana will rise like the phoenix.

the app u r talking about is nokia city lens...not too sure if microsoft have changed the name yet but check d lumia line of apps. all u do is open it and place it up. the sites around u will show up on the screen by itself
