Wisdytech:What happen to our ingenuity, our so called engineers, this is why nigerian education is useless. Why can we build our own weapon, with all the brainiac we have. Is the weapon engineers in the US or Russia have two heads? no be the same god create them? Now, we are begging other country to help us, we are at their mercy and on our knee for help. That is why America is great and fear by others, she control her own destiny, by building her weapon for defense, teaching their children practical study, instead of the theoritical study in Nigeria. We will forever a begger nation. We need to spend on military industries to creat jobs, and defend the country, let others buy from us. "the giant of africa" my foot. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

coldsummer:/ This is not the main issue. Nigeria buys weapons and indirectly hands the weapons over to BH. So...does it matter if FG buys from China, Russia, USA or God? The weapons will end up with BH either way. By the way, I don't know if the leaders remember that US does not buy Nigeria oil anymore. So, USA does not give a flying fvck about Nigeria. USA national interest comes before any phantom friendship, friendship in diplomatic term that is. \ |

asuoka: This is the most stupid statement I have ever seen. Without America, who else would have developed the Internet, giving the founder of Nairaland an opportunity to allow u insult the US. What has the Nigerian state developed for the greater good of humanity. The same AMERICA you hate saved the world during WW1 & WW2. There are so many nations willing to align with THE USA than CORRUPT NIGERIAN STATE. NIGERIANS should stop blaming America for BOKO HARAM. America can give Nigeria all the weapons it needs but I am willing to bet the weapons will rather be used for political thuggery. 1 Like |

A country that has a theory that they want to see the fruition of will never support anything that will make that theory not to materialize. the US have theorized that Nigeria will divide by 2015, they are working under the scene to see that this prediction come to pass. |
Re: Nigeria To Buy Arms From Russia by cap28: 3:08pm On Nov 13, 2014 |
Legit: Absolutely spot on! Russia were able to build up their arms industry in a space of 10 years. When faced with an imminent occupation of their country by the Nazis they accelerated the devt of their arms industry within a few years and were able to prevent their country from being overrun by the Nazis who had a superior army. Begging your enemies to supply you with arms is a sign of failure. Grow a set of balls and learn to stand on your own two feet. You expect the United States to supply you with arms when it is in their interest for you to remain militarily weak and under their control. Do you see Iran begging the US to supply them with arms? |

mmark12: this same US that you idolise enslaved your ancestors - try and remember that. they also sided with the white racists against the blacks in south Africa and used their CIA to capture Mandela - remember that. do you want me to continue? Okay, they sponsor assassinations of progressive African leaders like Sankara and Lumumba and are responsible for placing in power all of the current dictators that have remained in power in Africa for years - these people you worship hate you! Get your tongue out of USA's anus cos they cant stand you - oh by the way did I say they played a very prominent role in the enslavement of your ancestor? 4 Likes |

Afroconnect: Russians are racists but USA are the biggest racists of all time, they cover up their racism with fake smiles and handshakes. Ask African Americans about how fantastic it is to live as a black person in the USA and then you will know. Lynching and ra.pe of black people was a way of life for whites in the US until the late 1960s which is less than 50 years ago. The US use Hollywood to brainwash and fool many black Africans, the reality of life for a black person in the US is never portrayed in their media. A few African American entertainers have been allowed to become megarich but they are a tiny minority and do not represent the overwhelming majority of 40 million black americans who face racism on a daily basis in the US. Who supported apartheid south Africa and helped that evil govt track and capture Mandela - the USA. Who sent troops to help the Angolans free themselves from the racist grip of Portuguese rule? Fidel Castro of Cuba. Why then do Africans put their trust and faith in the US? 6 Likes |

cap28: Brother, FBI declassified some files this week. And apparently, Winston Churchill asked the yanks to nuke the Soviets in 1947 to win the cold war. Hence the reason for the Soviets to develop one by 1949, just to put them on a level playing field. Once you look at that, you just have to question why we Africans are still so backwards, and can't even develop anything. Heck, even the little hardware made in South Africa are made by the white South Africans. And Nigeria is the giant of Africa, with all kinds of lousy folks. 1 Like |

Weapons procurement alone is not enough. The Nigerian Military is battling with the lowest morale so far in the history of fighting enemies. They need to win on the battle field of the mind first. Even with the best of weapons, if crucial needs are not met( both material and psychological), these monsters(BH) will continue to unleash terror on us all. # God save Nigeria |
Re: Nigeria To Buy Arms From Russia by Nobody: 3:43pm On Nov 13, 2014 |
The ways of God is not the ways of Man. Everything that happens to a man in life is geared towards two things: for corrective measures and awakening. The sleeping giant of Africa in the quest for world economic growth abandoned its military project for other frivolities. Forgetting that a prosperous nation without a strong military might draws itself closer to enemy invasion. It is a shame that at this age the biggest economy in Africa cannot boast of a single military high-tech ammunition manufacturing and research complex. While countries like South-Africa is in its advance stage of military technology, Nigeria on the other hand discarded it Gods giving opportunity to leverage on the war time heroics of the Biafran military Obunigwes. Subsequent governments saw the Biafran innovations as a rag tag hardware and preferred begging on their knees to buy outdated and mal-functional weapons from their white masters (allies). Until Nigeria start prioritizing local manufacture of weapons the future looks bleak for the nations sovereignty. Because a time shall come when the eastern and western block may ally themselves against us. And if such happens the China and Russia we now look up to, will turn out to be just a spectator in a crisis between Nigeria and rebels (or aggressive countries) supported by the Americans/French. |

During the Biafra-Nigeria misunderstanding, Russia,Britain and other western powers opened their armouries to Nigeria to carry as much arsenal as she wants- to FORCE Biafrans back to one Nigeria. Now a group that is more sinister wants to annihilate and Islamise Nigeria. And Nigeria is looking for where to BUY arms. I wonder. |

cap28: Last I checked, it was fellow Africans that capture their own Africans brothers and sisters from villages to sold them to Portugese, spanish and American slave traders to enrich various African kings. DO blame AFRICANS AS WELL what off the various assassinations carried out on African leaders by their fellow Africans. what off BALEWA, iRONSI, MOHAMMED, and soo many others in Africa. was America responsible ? pls u sound like a man with one testicle. I dont know about u, maybe u are still a slave, me I am fine with America, I lived there, visit there, enjoy myself there. May be u werent given a visa thats why u are soo bitter. my opinon I can tell that majority of Nigerians fell more enslaved by their fellow black Nigeria leaders hence, the American Embassy and Home Office in the UK is soo filled with Nigerians trying to escape the country. SirShymex: Bros, its because we've got cowardly puppets in power who are terrified of going against the US. Also our educational system is a joke, we are taught that Europeans are our saviours and that they brought us civilisation. The white man's religion is also being used to tranquilise Africans, so at the end of the day we are a nation of robots who do not have the ability to think for ourselves. Nigeria has a lot of potential but will only realise that potential with a great leader at the helm not a dumb western western agent like Badluck Jonathan or any of the other contenders who are fighting to get into power at the moment. Japan built their arms industry up very quickly and were soon on an equal footing with the west, check the population of Japan, compare it to the population of Nigeria, what does Japan have that Nigeria doesn't have? |

Thank God our leaders eyes are opening now (I wonder how they claim to be leadin us when most of the led sees and reasons more than them). Enough of these bootlicking of America's A** . First they stopped Nigeria from applying for VISA Lottery. secondly, they stopped purchasing our oil. Thirdly, they refused to give us Ebola vaccines when the disease was ravaging our country (I wonder how they would have felt if we refused to educate on how to deal with the disease when it entered their country)and now embargo on military hardware purchase. Now, I believe that BokoHaram is really a covert operation of America to bring their forecast of Nigeria collapsing in 2015 to reality. But they will be disappointed I swear. The God of Israel that the Christians prays to and Allah the Muslims worships including the Ifas of the pagans are keepin watch over our Nation day and night. |

cap28: The whole continent is just defenseless and folks don't understand how important the military is, in protecting sovereignty. And that was the reason why all those great ancient empires/kingdoms built massive walls/moats to protect empires/kingdoms. Hence Africans and Africa are always treated like kids in the scheme of things. It's one thing to have potential in its rawest form, and it's another thing to be an intellectual property with refined potentials which are ready for use. And I don't think Nigeria has the latter. You just have to look at the mentality of the people, based on the consciousness, to know that. And yes, it has a lot to do with successive bad leadership and lack of great institutions. |

Izunwa: Hahahahahahahahaahaha. From my research, Nigeria was stopped from the Visa lottery program because Nigeria has exceeded the 50,000 quota on immigration to US. Other countries have been excluded as well. DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE BLABBING RUBBISH. Secondly, they stopped purchasing our oil because they are now producing 9 million barrels of oil, Nigeria was exporting 1.2 million barrels to US. USE YOUR HEAD. Nigeria has uses the same ban on importation from other countries. DONT BE A HYPORCRITE. Thirdly, they refused us medication, because Nigeria's case was very very low compared to Liberia whom they approved. besides I THOUGHT NIGERIA BOASTS TO BE THE LARGEST ECONOMY IN AFRICA, HOW COME THERE WERE DEMANDING THE US FOR THE DRUGS, FREE OF CHARGE - NONSENSE. IF Nigeria collapses, I pray its does not, Its Nigerians that will be blamed. You, NOT America, elects corrupted politicans; U demand bribes, punish the innocent and sing praises to corrupt politicans, deny freedom, liberty, peace to the innocents; Kill the innocents because for the pursuit wealth, divert money meant for development to private account. mmark12: hahaha typical braindead Nigerian regurgitating history that was written by your oppressor. The white man has even succeeded in convincing you that you are responsible for your own misfortune and like a gullible fool you swallow his lies. Have you read any books written by African historians? Where do you get your information from - let me guess history books written by Europeans and americans. Let me ask you a question why would a white person tell you truth about the slave trade? Think about it. If I enslaved your ancestors and got stupendously rich off the back of your ancestors blood and sweat would I tell you that I am the root cause of all the pain and suffering you experience today? Its simple human psychology - an abuser will never admit that he is an abuser, this is why a European or white American will never own up to the fact that the wealth of his nation was built on the murder, enslavement and ra.pe of Africans. The tragic thing is that people like you are so paralysed by ignorance that you accept their sanitised and whitewashed version of history. I understand your problem you are mentally crippled and depending on your age it may be too late for your to change your mindset, therefore nothing I will say to you will change the way you think. Turning to your questions about Ironsi, Balewa and Muhammed - my answer is yes the white man had everything to do with their deaths - why? well check Nigeria's history, Nigeria is a creation of the british empire, Balewa was an unwanted puppet of the british empire foisted upon nigerians without the mandate of all of the various Nigerian ethnic groups, he served the interests of britain and not Nigerians therefore he had to go in order for Nigeria to move forward, in that respect his death can be attributed to Britain, had he not been foisted on Nigeria he would not have met with a premature death, Ironsi was murdered because he was an unfortunate victim of a situation that was created by the british who set Nigeria up to fail by pitting the 3 major ethnic groups against each other. The British are the architects of the born to rule mentality which northerners are still manifesting in Nigeria to date, hence our stagnation. Murtala Muhammed and Buhari despite being northerners are ironically the only Nigerian leaders to date who refused to take orders from the West. Failure to take orders from the West usually ends in overthrow or death, Murtala succumbed to the latter while Buhari succumbed to the former. and by the way I have been to the US numerous times and I am not star struck by the country in any way as I am well travelled, nothing fazes me. What is the point of being fazed by the development of a country that was built on the blood and sweat of Africans and still regards Africans as inferior. Unlike you I am realistic and don't live in a fantasy world, I know that people like you pretend as if racism doesn't exist because you feel so grateful to be allowed to visit such countries, theres nothing better than being treated with respect and dignity which many blacks in the western world would give anything for. 4 Likes |

Chiwude: True that is the situation now, but I was talking about Japan in the early 19th century. Prior to 1945 Japan was seen as the greatest threat to White Supremacy and had to be stopped in their tracks by the Europeans by any means necessary, hence Hiroshima and Nagasaki. |

BlackTechnology:You're not alone in this battle. First, we need to have a functional steel industrial complex (two or three won't be a bad idea). Second, there is a need to end all religious and ethnic tensions germane to true national consciousness. Every Nigerian must see himself/herself first as a Nigerian before any tribal or religious affiliation. Thirdly, corruption and nepotism must be crushed at all cost. Even if it means prescribing death penalty for offenders. |
