LAGOS—Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, declared that the major challenge facing his administration in project delivery on schedule in the state was the residents’ factor.

Fashola made the remarks during the official commissioning of three major projects across the state.

The commissioned projects are: Agege Transfer Loading Station, Agege Local Government Area, Lagos-Skipper Engineering Academy, and the 1,600 Igando Emergency Relief/Resettlement Camp, Alimosho Local Government.

Explaining the constraint, the governor noted that residents have allowed private interest to override public interest in the state, lamenting, “this impedes the state government’s effort to deliver projects that would improve the standard of life.”

Fashola said: “Last night, I got a report that some group of residents have gone to seek court order to stop the state government from building ferry terminal in Osborne.“This was the ferry terminal that is almost completed and the court without hearing the state argument, the court gave injunction that the contractor should leave the site.

“I think that we will continue to have this issue in a democratic system to balance the interest of few people against million others.

“We were trying to build pedestrian bridge at Iyana-Ipaja axis of the state, a resident took the state government to court, and alleged that the users of the bridge will be shocked shocked looking into his house. shocked shocked

the issue with Fashola is that he lack what we call compassion !!! Typical of his APC dogs

You don't do a project without providing an alternative in the interim

How hard is that to understand ?

Mr Fashola, we are aware of such elements who doesn't like progress. If you investigate further....you will discover this entities belong to the SAiTAN group. Progress is a must with or without their distractions.

If it was GEJ that said this, APC plebs would have capitalised on it calling him ''clueless'' for blaming everyone for his failures instead of finding solutions.....but check out their comments here.
Bloody hypocrites.

Must the pedestrian bridge be located close to the Man's house?

I don't blame the resident at all because I wouldn't like a situation where people climbing a bridge can easily look into my house.

What will happen if Fashola situate the bridge on another place Or must the bridge be close to the man's house?

I think Fashola is just trying to show his power to the man.

LOL

You mistake my criticism for Fashola as hatred. There are only 2 politicians I love GEJ and Fashola (in dat order).

Both have done things I didn't like and I criticise but i still support them politically.

Now, I'm not aware of the particular bridge in question, but I know the area fairly well. But I necessarily don't even need to know the place as I have used other bridges and I know you can't look into anyone's house while climbing the bridge.

My question remains, Can't the bridge be located anyother place on the express? must it b on that spot that overlooks the man's house?

The house is b4 the bridge, so the bridge should be built to accommodate the resident or he should be adequately compensated to relocate somewhere else, so the bridge can b built.
