Last month, he voiced support for vigilantes fighting Boko Haram in the volatile northeast, urging others to form civilian militias and questioning the competence of the military to end the five-year-old insurgency.
On November 28, a week after the comments, gunmen with explosives attacked the mosque near Sanusi’s palace during Friday prayers and killed at least 120 people and wounded 270.
The emir was out of the country at the time but many believed he was the target because of his criticisms of the Islamist sect, which says it wants to impose a strict Islamic state in Nigeria’s mainly Muslim north.

Second, the title of that article is far from the quoted comment. It is very unfortunate that a newspaper like Vanguard will distort truth or make mischievous inference in order to nail someone.

Their political editor, Gabriel Omoh, has been a sworn enemy of Sanusi since he started his reforms in 2009. He was also the one that cast that famous but unsubstantiated story in Vanguard in February 2009 that the North planned to take over 5 banks.

Stop arguing. There is a regular meeting called the "council of state" where all the former heads of state discuss. There advice has been given in abundance, it is left for the man at d head to take action. Instead of blaming every imaginary ghost he can think of. The beauty of everything is that Dangote,Otedola,IBB and the bankers are not God.They all tried it during Osun election and they all failed.Failure is awaiting them comes 2015.
