In spirit or in material? Jesus was poor materially but the reason why many pastors are materially rich is because they don't have the love of others in mind. Infact so church members can't afford the universities built by their churches and yet,their rich pastors can not subsidize for them.

Jesus was not poor materially. Someone who could feed thousands comfortably is not poor!

Just like the politicians, pastors in nigeria lack good knowledge of the job they are doing and yet they have many followers and admirers among us. They talk carelessly and act recklessly ; and because the people are ignorant, there is nobody to check their excesses. Imagine a pastor calling the church a business and when they are asked to pay taxes, they say it is non-profit. Bunch of ruthless thieves , exploiters and enemies of God.

I always encourage people to pay their tithe to the less privileged, orphans, etc instead of giving their hard earned money to all these money hungry pastors...God help us

I cannot believe a so called man of God said this. I know a real man of God that prays for people and has produced millionaires but he's still poor, very poor because people forget him after getting a divine breakthrough. Yet he said he's wealth is in the spirit. That there is no greater wealth than God hearing you when you pray and I believe his word wholeheartedly because his message is salvation and that rightousness exalts a nation (people)

No wonder most pastors are now gunning after money.

Jesus did not call church business! He said we should preach the gospel to all and give of what we have or all that we have to it.

The life of Christ and His teachings are the fulfilment of His father's business. Its different from the way churches are run especially today. If our pastors are Christ like (Christians) they would own nothing. Talk less of have billions in the midst of poverty and lack.

But how will churches become oil companies if they don't turn them into businesses.

He is a thief anyway just like the other 95%.
