Gross. Tiz people with twisted minds that will think putting disgusting scars on their kid's face will be what will beautify their kid or used as an identification of their lineage.

I believe culture must be upheld and revered but when it comes to tribal marks, I totally disagree that we should keep such practice.

It's pure cruelty and nothing more. It reminds one of those dark ages in Africa.

Anyone who supports it should tell us if he can do it to his/her own biological children.

Tribal mark should be abolished in Nigeria & Africa, see d kind of pain they inflicting on poor innocent children. Beside, HIV & other viral diseases can be tranmited through this.

Mind your business, Senseless bigots.
We must learn to appreciate others and not condemn them.I am sure you are immature in thinking and common sense.
What about those individuals with tattoo?Do you also pity them. These marks are cultural.
Only a bastard like you will rant about like a toothless bulldog.
When white men call you monkey, you all will shout racism as if the worst racism is not among yourselves.
Hypocrites.

I feel so sorry for the child in the first picture, why put an innocent child through such pains.

These practices are not only disfiguring but also potentially very dangerous as often times the same sharps are used for different people with the risk of transmitting blood borne diseases.

Hmmm Tnk GOd for oyibo pipo ooo

Your inferiority complex speaks for itself. The funny thing about people like you is, if Americans and British people begin using this tribal marks today, you will suddenly find it cool and begin imitating it blindly.

What do you have to say about the tattoos on Wizkid & Tonto Dike's body?.

Listen.
This wasn't actually a Yoruba culture thing but a way to mark and differentiate slaves belonging to certain kingdoms. The marks originated because of your masters (whiteman) contact with Africa. Unfortunately, it later evolved into the Yoruba culture and other African nations as a way of recognizing different clans. Hausa's or Fulani's or both do give marks as well.

Culture or what
Tribal marks are easy identification of slaves.
Do we still give birth to slave nowadays..? I haven't seen a passage in the Bible or heard from Quran that there 'was or is' tribal marks in heaven.
Common!! Cruety is it...

Omg op, the pictures you posted is pure cruelty o. shocked shocked

I have tribal marks, mine is very tiny and pretty. You will never notice I have tribal markes till you come face to face with me.

I don't support tribal marks and won't try it on my kids. If I have the power I will remove mine. Although it makes me look even more pretty but considering the fact that I'm the only one who have tribal marks in my house is enough reason for me to want to remove it.....I'm not a Yoruba but a delta lady. sad

It didn't start in the time of slavery o. It is used to differentiate what yoruba tribe you are from so that even in a far away Kingdom you'd be able to recognise your own. It is also as a result of diabolical things. My mum for example got hers after she fainted

In this modern days of ours, marks for those that are above 25yrs of age.....I would say it's culture.
For people with it within 20 to 24yrs ago were very unfortunate
People of less 20yrs of age with the marks......It is Cruelty
and people of less 15yrs ago that have the marks......It is absolute Cruelty

While it brings out beauty of few ones among many, it's a scar on many........Hence, It must be stop either by enlightenment, full passage of law or both.
