@ Elegbede205, can you post me a picture of what your capo looks like? I'm not satisfied with the capos I found around here...

Chai, this is the same capo I saw at stores around Lagos. I don't like it in anyway. I hope it's easy to use?

Guys, I haven't been with my guitar for about two months now 'Cos of my current location. I even tried to purchase one Yeye guitar from Oshodi to compensate, but it was a disaster...lol. Should be back at my base soon to reunite with my guitar. Merry Christmas to all!

Actually, there's a store in Oshodi that sells nice Yamaha semi-acoustic guitars. I later got to find our that store long after I bought that Yeye brand called "Standard" at about 7500 Naira. The Yamaha brands I saw at this other store are priced from 15k above.

I love your persistence! Although, I prefer your finger-picking audio to your strumming audio. It seems you're destined to be a good 'finger-pickist'. In other words, you need to still improve your strumming technique. Watch videos and learn. Keep it up!

Re: A thread for acoustic guitarist: beginners, amateurs and professionals by TonySpike: 1:26pm On Jan 08, 2015
If you're gonna be a good guitarist vis-a-vis vocalist, you'll need a capo. Infact, the sound output of your guitar becomes more pleasant as the capo position moves from the 1st to the 8th fret!

in my opinion,it not used by lazy people.
Some of the song lessons i learn makes it mandatory you use the capo to change the key and sometimes tom match the voice of the player.

capo is not compulsory, its used for transposing, not mandatory, if u know all d chords around d guitar y do u nid it, I don't use it, I don't want to b dependent on it. I advice u to learn without it, den if u HV become a pro u can use it

there was a tutorial that needs a capo . There is a lick in the song and if you must transpose to get it u need a "6th and very longer" finger.
So my point is, tho it better for a learner transpose buh it jxt seem to be impossible in some situation.

I've heard that statement of "capo are for lazy people" several times. I wonder what you guys would say about pros like Sunny Ade, Chris Tomlin, Paul Baloche or even guitarists in famous bands like Bethel, David Crowder band, The Script & Jesus Culture who play guitars using capos. Does it mean they are amateur players or what? The truth is that some of us aren't learning guitar as professionals, but as hobby, so please cut us some slack. I, for example, have a busy day job and only started playing guitar recently. I don't believe I should know 100% of guitarism in order to play with my church band. So, please don't shoot capo users down, I beg. See you guys later, I've got a band rehearsal now...
