dinlin: @solomoncater, there is a joke here that AUT students are UoAs reject..lol..yes but UoA is ranked very high and it would drop if they admit every applicants without standard merit. AUT is very good as well and theyv got standard and reputation with employers compared to some other ones. UoA got large classes, long lectures and much theory while AUTs classes aint as much and courses are mixed with practical placement..hence lots of experience on CV by the time you graduate...ph.d program for me is gonna be Victoria university wellington..

@dinlin It is usually like that most times.... they gained 2 steps in this new school ranking by QS. Victoria Uni is good when it comes to Science and Health Science courses. I choose UoA because of the school ranking and international recognition.
Re: General New Zealand Student Enquires by dinlin: 1:05am On Sep 27, 2014
@solomoncater, UoA is a good choice for you. I personally wouldnt be really concerned as most NZ unis are top ranked anyway..I kinda look at what courses are on offer and how it fits my plans(work, study&family), logistics and long term goals...Its like wishing for Havard but fine getting into MIT or stanford..@ the end of the day it all depends on what we make of the qualifications that we struggle to attain..If not, professor would be the most successful and richest..

Please who has flown through Australia to New Zealand? did they ask for a transit visa?
Re: General New Zealand Student Enquires by Truth234(m): 6:16am On Oct 17, 2014
You will only need a transit visa to go out of the airport, not for connecting flights.

Have not to New Zealand but have to Singapore and Japan. It shouldn't be any different if you are not entering their country. Better still call your intending airline office.

@Samuelkingz.... I am not so sure about Mass Communication here because you need to search on their shortage skill which is very important to know your chances of getting a job. I am still new here and will keep an eye on things over here and see how i could be of help. i will advice you make your personal research for now and i will help anyway i can. The first thing i noticed here is that they are really friendly.

You are most likely not going to get the Visa because NZ and Aussie are very strong allies and i believe they will detect that you have a ban on entering Australia so it will surely affect the outcome of your student visa. you can try to apply for the student visa and see what happens. but i know there is a column in the visa application that asks if you have been denied a visa before. But honestly not to make you feel bad or anything i believe you have very little chance because Aussie and NZ have a very strong connection if it were countries like UK or USA you still stand a better chance

Solomon cater, why do all Nz schools demand for full tuition before given admission?
Are there no University or college that accepts part payment or in installment?

They demand for full tuition because they need to be sure you are capable. It is their immigration law that you must pay the full tuition so all schools must obey.

Please do not be discouraged all...if you are really keen on getting your nursing degree in NZ then go ahead and apply, when it gets to the Visa stage they will ask you for reasons why your visa was denied then it will be good to explain further to them..this is a civilized country and they will only take extra care in checking your documents to make sure they are correct which means your visa decision could take longer to process. Good luck.

If truly you want to study in New Zealand, don't be discourage, i will encourage you to apply. Am talking from experience. A cousin of mine used forged documents to apply for Canada visa, and he was denied and banned! So when he wanted to apply for US visa, a lot of people discourage him not to apply for US visa, and he was told US and Canada shares information bla bla bla. I encourage him to apply, and never listen to them. He got his 2 years multiple visa last year November 2014, and he's currently in Houston Texas. US and Canada dont use same central database system, Same with Australia and New Zealand.

Note: Australia and New Zealand dont use same central database visa system.

They are just neighbors, and they don't use same central system for visa, and there is no way New Zealand will know about your previous Australia denial, except if the refusal stamp is on your passport! Believe me, that will not make affect your visa, This time you have to make sure all your documents are genuine, and package your application well, you will come here to share testimony. Mark my word! My uncle lives in Christ Church and i also have cousin there, the country is a nice place. If you already gotten your admission, try gather all the necessary documents together and apply. Wish you best of luck.
