Please that divorce is not the problem, divorce is a result of a dysfunctional marriage. If we all keep shying away from the main problem breaking marriages (adultery and domestic violence) the rates of divorce will keep soaring.

Every average man out there is aware of the challenges that comes with marriage , this is the 21st century and more women are becoming educated as well as being self dependence and self sufficient but the unfortunate thing here is that most women if not all sees this their new found status as a front to challenge the norms and value systems of a society that has existed for thousands of years and is embedded in the people's way of life and belief system and this is where the clash is always happening.

You have a society where men are getting four wives and some even more ,how do you think that the man with just a wife will begin to see it as being morally wrong if he decides to keep for himself a concubine? This is not a kind of support for any form of adultery or infidelity - This is what is obtainable in our society today.

This issue is a complex one and until the Government comes in and make it a civil offence with some sort of punishment women would always be at the receiving end because the society itself which is the very fabric of our foundation is tainted with that culture.So, if you continuously divorce because your men are cheating on you down here in the South what will the woman in Kano,Zamfara,and Sokoto do because their husbands are marrying and keeping them in hoards?..The system is flawed and whoever forces it or adopts any strategy to make a point will end up causing more chaos and the ensuing negative proceeds from such chaos will always come back to bite the same society.

You're right and even with the above it is not yet Uhuru as you would perpetually remain at the receiving end, ending up as baby mamas for absentee fathers,valued like a commodity and many of you would end up running around as concubines for men that are too eager to service other women with zero respect for women.

The women would still come out of it worse as the scale of economic equality has not and is not yet tilted towards being treated as equal - I hope you're getting the bigger picture
