What can I say, I tried posting my prose here once but I had to beg for comments and criticisms. I would write for days without any comments from readers.
Plus I feared someone would steal my precious story and make it more appealing to people who doesn't know it was my brain's work.

I'm glad I opened this thread.

I think I remember that story. Loving my first love or something. I don't think you stopped because there was no encouragement, you probably stopped as a result of the fear of plagiarism.
If you had continued, you would have gotten a lot of comments and readers, thereby making you and your story popular, then you become a target, bloggers will start pursuing you.

shocked you got blocked for posting this? o mase o
I'm guilty of the reading and not commenting part, my belief is that multiple comments make people lose interest in the story(IMHO)
some writers here are egotistic and then some, I remember reading a girl/or woman's story (very captivating I must confess), but she spoilt it by bad mouthing anyone that so much as ask for 'next update'.
in all, writing in NL's literature section is a mostly thankless job walahi, and I salute yalls courage and hard work, but I think y'all would be better of writing half and selling the other half...

Maybe, just maybe, we should appeal to the Federal government to create a law that would ban bloggers, those people are gradually becoming the death of Nigerian intellects.... Hmmm, Its so sad, very sad

Don't tell me you were banned because of this post. I refuse to believe so but if it is, then it's so disappointing and one of the reasons the literature section will continue to be redundant.

I think seun Osewa should turn this literature section to something like sexuali.ty section where only members can read.
I saw someone that just stopped her story because of no comment and I know of several people like her.
And i could not help matters while I was in school but this 51 days I would move mountains or die trying...
It is so disheartening to discover you've updated a story and noone has commented on it for hours...

True to be told, after our several complaints on the banning, plagiarism stuff and other issues regarding NL, the owner of this site is supposed to offer an helping hand, he's supposed to listen to the members wants but the guys ain't even gonna utter a speech! He'll just ignore this post. "Is that pride or something"

@Seun, I think you should know better that this is a well known site that has a lot of members, and the Literature forum is losing its users day by day simply because of these set of plagiarist(they may even be the one that hacked into NL's account and deleted some files in her). I know you're probably gonna ignore this also but damn! I ain't gonna lose a dam. Its just that if things continue these way, Literature section will be on the same par with the likes of jokes, diares and co.

...
Seun's been unserious about this section since 2005. I want to believe this section is one of the sections that generates traffic, considering the number of refreshing and the likes.
And believe me, before long, Nairaland will become a politics forum where on issues concerning politics would be discussed. Everyday, about twenty APC/Buhari's thread makes the frontpage, same number goes for GEJ/PDP, one topic from the romance section, one topic from the Family section, about twelve topics from celebrity section. Now tell me, the topics that requires more attention includes, Politics, Family, Romance, Literature, Business and I think Job vacancy and maybe technology.
A writer in literature section can be contacted by publishers if his story makes the frontpage, an unemployed graduate could see a vacancy announcement in the Job/vacancy section and so on. But rather than they(Seun and his mods) contribute to the development of our youths, they rather put topics like, Dbanj is broke, Wizkid's girlfriend caught eating amala, Flavour takes pictures with his dogs or Gov Rochas Okorocha dancing shoki. Seriously, these topics are not developing this country, but Seun, na money sure pass and Nairaland is paying.
And he'll realise that the politics section is a seasonal stuff, after election, the traffic would reduce and he'll see thr truth himself.
In other news, I am expecting my ban in the next five minute, because I know that's the best you guys can do. Even the literature section moderator is keeping quiet.

I don't understand the idea of getting banned for making good and uncontrovercial statements on NL, It just piss me off.

This issues being pointed out here are very serious and must be considered.
Fatallevi, i went to those sites you mentioned but only one posts stories, and behold bluestarry's and pfjacob's storries i saw there(i guess those were the ones i know cause i have read them). I got a whatsapp number of the op posting them and he was like trying to disclaim that he was'nt stealing the stories, that the owners knew about him( even after confirmation from the duo that their stories are being copied). After much chatting, he started insulting me but me planning on a way to deal with him and his blog.

Y'all are hypocrites. I can see the same faces that championed and called for my ban because i questioned the "gods of literature section". How does it feel now? You guys are here complaining, well it serves you right because you are the cause of your problems. You fight people that dare to question you,you form cliques, glorify all your works and trample others. What many of you dont realise is that a typical writer is deviant, and hardly abides by the status quo,so long as theres ink in his pen,he must challenge you, question your works and sometimes get on your nerves. Where is that ishilove? I hope your work gets stolen, sincerely, you banned me for 8 days just because i didnt agree with your "friends". And laykorn the " trumpet blower",you called called the wrath of the gods on me. I thank you for that, because one who causes others misfortune also teaches them wisdom. Learn to accomodate others whether they share the same views with you or not, that way you learn and become greater, maybe luckier. Our elders say that He who fears the sun will not become king,a word is enough for the wise.

You are a trouble maker. There's a difference between constructive criticism and downright trolling. You were trolling and hurling insults everywhere, hence you got your just reward. If you don't know how to present your arguments in a civil manner then you have no business interacting with rational adults.

Stick to the rules of this forum and you won't get banned.
