GBTYO:

Is jaykay pharmacy not a private limited company with a board of directors?

Jimi stated that he resigned from his position since 2006. The current management should be the ones to ask.
Knowing the kind of aggressive tax collectors the Lagos state government employs, there is no way that Jaykay will not have paid taxes over the years. If you own, manage or work in any company in Lagos you will know this is imoosible to avoid.

On the property, delayed payments of property tax is not the same thing as tax evasion.

As for the date on the letter of appreciation it might have been an error from the same office that issued it at least it has a refrence number and duly signed and can be authenticated through the issuing office.

The first thing he should have done is to provide a document to the effect that he is no more with jaykay pharmacy, or write JK pharmacy to issue one to that effect, if he has misplaced it like Buhari, not a letter of appreciation for tax payment for a residential address dated 30january. angry
Is he trying to tell us the company is in his own house, paying a residential tax that covers both a residential and commercial building?
NOW THATS FRAUD!!!!! angry angry angry angry angry angry angry. I am not surprised, his lagos chieftain, George is a criminal. Oya Baba Fash, sweep them away from Lagos angry angry angry angry angry angry

Governments do not post date letters. They write the date it was sent out and when you get it, you get it. They don't care when you get it. Things like post dating letters bite governments in the backside so they don't even attempt it.

Stop defending the unreasonable abeg

"Governments do not post date letters" but this was post dated so you agree it is fake.

"They write the date it was sent out" but this was sent out already so why tomorrow date.

Sorry I didn't get your point.

I talked as a professional. The letter comes with the demand notice for 2015 Land Use Charge. They usually put it in the envelope of people that are not owing previous ones.
The demands by law is supposed to be issued by January every year but because of circulation, they started distributing it on time.
Please Bros, believe whatever you want, it is a free world, I may scan some I have received to you when I get to the office.

please do not bother...he's blind with party sentiment.

Formal letters are not post dated and certainly not Government letters.

the undersigned will rarely even sign a post dated letter.

If you read the original post you will see where he clearly stated that he informed Lagos state of his resignation back in 2006.

And for your info the mere fact that he is contesting a public position automatically demands he resign from any paid position as dictated by the law. This is a non issue,

We have so many illiterate on Nairaland. Virtually all the post on page 0 were posted by illiterates who couldn't read or comprehend op's statements.

Even after Jimi resigned from his position since 2006, illiterates like mynd and his co-horts are still asking for evidence of tax payment.

You're dumb. How much is his private residents charge that the commissioner have to appreciate him? Logically a man who received appreciation letter from the commissioner is doing well.

and when you pay your taxes, you also have your tax certificate, not some alleged post dated appreciation letter alone.

And the fact still remain that his company as alleged Fashola defaulted in Land use charge .

A company that he has since resigned from.

That letter is sent to everyone who pays. It is a pre-typed thing and all you do is to input the individual's name

its obvious you are a pdp paid agent, why will any rational thinking person begin to insult someone because of a letter that is glaringly doctored.

Tax receipts are private as they state your earnings. Only public servants and corporations do not enjoy such privacy when it comes to declaration of earnings.

The letter can only arise when all other factors have been met which in this case states that jimi has been regular and timely in paying his tenement rate.

Jimi can easily provide evidence for this through receipts issued by his local govt for payments of tenement rates on his personnel property.

Go and review your elementary economics or business studies and try to understand what a limited liability company means.

Jimi has since retired from the day to day activities of Jaykay pharmacy which he has duly informed the Lagos state finance commissioner.

For whatever reason that the current Jaykay management can not pay its property tax only the current management can give an explanation and be held responsible.

I think it is you that needs to do a rerun of what you were taught. CAMA only recognise owners and Directors of businesses. Is Jimi any of those?

if the letter is pre-typed as you say, obviously there are three things that will always be inputed.

date
name
address

according to lagos approved taxes law, if you pay land use charge, you don't have to pay tenement rate again.

its actually land use charge the lagos state government is talking of.

Land use charge is the same as tenement rate. The latter applies to corporate bodies or commercial residences.

this election should come and go.
Supposedly intelligent men are just oozing rubbish from their mouth.
First it was Atedo Peterside sounding stupid in an attempt to defend Jonathan, now it is Fashola sounding like a dog on heat in an attempt to rubbish Agbaje (as if Agbaje has not been doing a good enough job of that himself).
Election brings out the worst in Nigerian politicians.
At least we are used to Fayose being an i.diot at all times.

Obviously, Fashola with his utterances these few months has shown that he is not in any way an intelligent man.

Jimi has now provided not only evidence of tax payment but an appreciation letter singling him for his prompt payments.

That aside, a delay in tax payments is not the same thing as tax evasion.

Roflmfao! See the 'Super' intelligent person.
