Sammiejokes: Brilliant!! You're a realist. Forget these pseudo intellectuals chatting shi*t, they're either deluded & out of touch with reality or just plain stupi*d. A guy enjoying the comfort & safety of New York opens his mouth and spews load of bullshi*t and some of these weak minded folks here applaud him for spinning their heads Lol GDP is rising, economy is booming bla bla bla what impact does it have on the lives of average Nigerians? No one can answer. Last I checked, it was N190 to $1, prices are rising, wages are stagnant (if not falling), unemployment is rising, and you tell me the economy is growing, why is it so? What impact is this economic growth having on people's income? Nigeria is the only country where people are worse of despite economic growth. 3 Likes |

Kenai: Well not with certainty but rather cautious optimism. Knowing the demographics of Nigeria, the role of tribe/religion, coupled with the fact Jonathan has been a failure of epic proportions, I will say Buhari has a good chance of winning this time. The northerners who make up close to 35% of Nigerians will overwhelmingly vote Buhari, the West & South will be where it's decided, even many of Jonathan's disenfranchised southerners won't vote for him. Buhari isn't the right candidate right now, I think Fashola could have been a better choice however, anyone but Jonathan will do for me. 2 Likes |

I feeel there should be a positive corellation between GDP growth and employment generation, exchange rate, poverty level. But all we hear is GDP is increasing but the average man on the street is wallowing in hunger and poverty. Nobody is talking here about corruption level in the country. Where are all the cases of corruption in this GEJ administration? All were swept under the carpet. if corruption is wiped out in Nigeria, we would all be fine. For the single fact that GEJ is never committed to fighting corruption but rather encouraging the holocaust which is killing this country, my vote should go for GMB. But it's unfortunate that I don't have a PVC as I speak. God Bless Nigeria! |

titicamara22: Indeed, the case of GDP is quite funny. In many countries (e.g., USA) GDP growth would benefit investors and those who work hard to take themselves out of poverty. The same is also true for Nigeria where the rich gets richer and the poor gets either stagnated or even poorer, despite GDP increase. The difference between these countries (and I am only using them as examples) is that one has over many years evolved systems to cater - to some extent - to the poor. The other has not. Bottomline: GDP growth is for national growth not for individual growth. Ironical, yes? They should scrap GDP fast, it makes no sense to the common man in New York nor Lagos. 1 Like |

PiperAlpha: At the bolded, yes it is true but how is that statistic supposed to put food on your table if you're waiting for a socialist benevolent government like buhari's? The government is not your nursemaid and you are no infant. All the government owes you are the tools to put you on your feet (education) and an enabling environment (infrastructure and policies) to help you help your self. Waiting to be spoonfed with oyel money is typical of an illiterate which I'm quite certain you're not...........or are you If you're educated and can't get a white collar job, retrain and learn a new trade or skill and get a lower paying blue collar job that will pay your bills instead of sitting on your ar$e cursing the government and I'm not referring to you, am referring to whoeverelse reads this who is actually expecting manna to fall from heaven or Houdini buhari to come pull a solution out of his hat or is it fila? At the italicized, weren't we pretending this was an academic argument? If we are, what source or authority or verifiable statistics can you use to back up that assertion because like you rightly earlier noted as pertaining to the economy, all available statistics say otherwise. Now who is overdosed on sentiments? |

squaddy:Bros, it not too late to make history together by kicking out incompetent and clueless president. A weak government like Jonathan do not deserve another four years. If APC fails to perform at the first term, kick them out too. This will make politicians at all levels sit tight. Sai Buhari |
