No surprises. Even if Buhari poos in a church, you'll still defend him.

Meanwhile, this is the same NEDG that has been organizing pre-election debates since 2011 and all political parties have been participating since then. Not once did any of the participants complain of bias. We know the only reason Buhari would boycott the debate is because it will expose his incompetence.

Thank God it was not GEJ that threatened to boycott the debate, otherwise Buhari goons would have had a field day unleashing their venom on him. Now that it was their weeping general that chickened out, they are here to make excuses for him. Assuming Buhari wins the election, but God forbid, this is how they'll try to make excuses for him when his govt begins to fumble and wobble. Shame!!!
Buhari is not dump as you people want to believe.
The kind of propaganda that has been going on against him on NTA and AIT is unprecedented in the history of electioneering in Nigeria.
Trade mark of Jonathan government since 2011.

I still don't get your point
DesChyko:

Is it about fairness? Tit for tat? Is that the new definition of fairness? I used to believe 'two wrongs don't make a right' but all that definitely doesn't apply to the Nigerian elections, particularly, the 2015 electoral debate.

The foundation of your defence was built on bias, hence it is difficult dissociating it as you stipulated thus.

Nedg, ait, channels, whoever n however, Buhari must participate in A debate. Undecided voters like me need to hear from d horses' mouths. In 2011, I was like d Judas in my family when I constantly refused to support d shoeless drunk, against all manner of sentiments n armtwisting. When he chickened out of d first debate I had my weapon to stand my ground against my family. Of course when he debated with himself, it further alienated him from me....I even gained one or two converts to my side then......that's d power of d debates. I wanna hear GEJ n Buhari in a debate....APC make it happen oh grin

Sir, I'm not being unpatriotic. Buhari knows too well the view most people have about him, He should be looking for the slightest opportunity to prove his critics wrong and sell himself to the electorate, By boycotting the debate, He's confirming what people think about him. What proof does he have that NEDG leaked questions to GEJ?.. None!
The man knows what he's avoiding.
Maybe he thinks they'll ask him for his certificate.Personally i know he has nothing to say.I watched him in the last debate and was disappointed at him and Ribadu.

Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria is an association of licenced private and government owned Radio and television stations operation in nigeria. It is a non profit and non political organisation. It is NOT a regulatory body and not also a parastatal of any government in Nigeria. It is registered with the Corporate Affairs commission. It was formed in 1973 to pull resources together to transmit the All African Games and later FESTAC. It's members include among others Multichoice (DSTV) Startimes, NTA, VON, Channels, Silverbird TV, AIT, Raypower, all state radio and TV stations, ITV, Galaxy,Cool FM, Wazobia,Radio Nigeria ,DBN, Inspiration FM, TVC, Blaze FM,Brilla FM, Confluence Cable Network Lokoja,Desmins Kaduna, freedom Radio Kano,Joy FM Otukpo, MINAJ Obosi, Nargata Radio Kaduna, Radio Gotel Yola, Rahmah Radio Kano,Rock City FM Abeokuta and a host of others.BON is funded primarily from subscription of members. It's like Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, Advertisers Association of Nigeria, and other Associations that cater for the interest of their members. It is not National Broadcasting Commission which is the regulatory authority for Broadcasting.

Will an intelligent student decide not to write an exam simply because some students in his class have seen the question before hand ? Will that affect his performance in anyway ? In as much as I am not satisfied with GEJ's performance, I am strongly of d opinion dat if GMB has nothing to hide, and if he has confidence in his ability, the moderator or organizer of the debate, place or time its held will not matter. I smell a rat, a very big one for dat matter

My own take, the Apc should have make suggestions to the debating panel, by way of suggestion, perhaps an independent panalist, becos this debate would have sold Gen. Burhari's candidacy to a large numbers Nigerian voters before the real election @ hand.

NEDG DEBATE BOYCOTT
The Nigeria Election Debate Group, the organiser of the proposed debate is composed of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and Africa Independent(?) Television(AIT).

NTA is an agency of the government, its D-G appointed by the President and supervised by the Minister of Information. They aired the infamous and slanderous documentary against General Muhammadu Buhari.

FRCN is also an agency of the federal government under the supervision of the Information Minister(an appointee of the President). The President appoints and fires FRCN's Director General at will.

AIT is owned by a PDP Chieftain Raymond Dokpesi. The TV house also ran the infamous PDP/GEJ sponsored documentary against General Muhammadu Buhari. They also tilts their day-2-day broadcast to favour pro-PDP/Jonathan against anything pro-APC/GMB.

Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria(BON) is the statutory regulatory agency that regulates broadcast in Nigeria. The organisation is an agency of the federal government, and supervised by the Ministry of Information. BON failed to respond to the protest of APC and #TeamBuhari with respect to the slanderous PDP-sponsored documentary aired by NTA and AIT. It's political bias is not hidden.

With agencies such as NTA, FRCN and BON, as well as pro-Jonathan AIT, one doesn't a soothsayer to tell that the debate will be a charade and a "hollabaloo" with intent of promoting the president and his party, and humiliate Muhammadu Buhari and APC. That Buhari withdraw from the sham of a "debate" is one smart move that he has made politically and should be applauded by all.

Recall that in 2011 of the four leading Presidential Candidates, three candidates- Muhammadu Buhari (CPC), Ibrahim Shekarau(ANPP) and Mallam Nuhu Ribadu(ACN) shunned the NEDG debate with only Goodluck Jonathan participating against himself.

No serious opposition aspirant will participate in a debate organised by NEDG considering the fact that the promoters of the group are unapologetic loyalists of the President and card carrying members of his party eg Mike Omeri and Raymond Dokpesi . The General will be more than willing to participate in a real Presidential debate just like he did in 2011.

The INEC that conducts the election is not an agency of the government and yet he is participating
The Police that has been guarding him since he started his campaign is not an agency of the government
The SSS providing security for him does not belong to the same government
When his party placed their adverts on AIT, NTA, they did not remember they are government's agency and friend

I smell hypocrisy..

I know that when it concerns Buhari/APC, you will defend the indefendable and thats a shame. I put it to you that even if the debate is organised by all the political parties, Buhari will find an excuse to boycott it for the following reasons-
1) He is naturally arrogant and pompous.
2) He treats people with disdain.
3) He cannot defend his lies against the military board;
4) His false claim of having a certificate when he hadnt any.
5) His lies at a press conference to defend lies.
6) His forgery of a certificate through the Katsina State govt.
7) His senility.
cool
His cancellation of Lagos Metroline project paying the sum of $700m for breach of contract for a project that required only $600m to complete thereby making the govt. lose $700m without a project instead of allowing the project at $600m.
9) He cannot defend his selective treatment of politicians in which he jailed those that were adjudged not corrupt by a competent court in contempt of court while those he overthrew for corruption were treated with red carpet.
10) Buhari is so empty upstairs he cannot articulate simple sentences and ideas without goofing.
11) He doesnt believe non-muslims and non-hausa fulanis have any rights.
12) He cannot defend his threat of dogs and baboons (christians and southerners) soaking in blood.
13) He cannot defend his statement that muslims should vote only for those who will defend their faith in a secular country.
14) A riot broke out in Oyo state between fulani herdsmen and their hosts because their cattles destroyed the latters' crops during Lam Adesina's tenure. Buhari led a delegation from the north. The audience was shocked to hear Buhari say that he only cared about the fulanis that were killed. In other words, he didnt come for peace. He is such a man - not cut out for leadership. No one can straighten a dry fish. Buhari belongs, not just to the worst of old school but to the archaic ancient.

u must be blind... or is it DAT u don't have a TV?
only by watching NTA network news, a sane Nigerian will know what they stand for....

90% of the news broadcasted on NTA network last night was to praise and campaign for GEJ....

is it that other parties haven't been having rallies and campaigns?
is it that parties are expected to pay to NTA before their rallies can be mentioned on the network news? cos it seems only PDP has paid for that...

BON, NTA and AIT are controlled by PDP, thus #BuhariWillNotDebate
