The new Tomb Raider is on sale today for $4 on Steam. That's less than 700 Naira for one of last year's best games. You guys should consider buying it before the sale expires.

I know that boys are broke and all, but when an affordable deal like this comes along we should try and support the people that are making all these nice games for us. Buying it from steam actually uses fewer of your precious GBs than torrenting since you're not uploading anything. Plus once you've bought it, you own it forever and can re-download whenever you want.

Gaming laptops are not cost effective. To get a decent experience running the latest games you need to spend an insane amount of money. Regardless of their processor speed, most affordable laptops come with integrated graphics which is not powerful enough to do justice to modern games. You might be able to get a a good experience with 2 year old games at 720p, but for modern games you need to either get a desktop or spend stupid money.

Desktop PC are cheap and you can build one that is significantly more powerful than the PS4 for the same amount of money. Or if you already have one, you can just buy a mid-range video card and you're set.

Follow this guide if you need help picking parts. You can buy them online and ship them to Nigeria, or get someone who is travelling to bring them for you.

Is there something out there that is cheaper and fast?

I use MTN BIS to download my games and movies.... Very fast in my areas... I get 1.5mb/s most of the time and when the network is bad, I get 525-785kb/s

I have so many games I own that I havent downloaded because I have to manage my download limit. Bought Arkham Origins recently: 17gb. I bought Battlefield 3 a few years ago and never finished downloading it because its 17gb. I got Dragon Age Origins for free:17gb. I bought Max Payne 3 this holiday sale: 33gb. GTA 5 is coming soon out: 65gb. Its only by stealing bandwidth at work that I manage to download the number of games I have.

Until we have an ISP that gives us reliable internet at an supra-youtube speed, with a generous bandwidth allowance and at an affordable price, Nigerians will keep complaining.
