Sonia entered her room and bolted the door, with a helpless sigh she leaned on the door and closed her eyes, gathering her scattered wits.
She wanted these to be a nightmare; Sophia hadnt slept with David.
But it was pure reality,Sophia hadn't denied it and it hurt her so much.
What hurted her most was her sister had been the first to know carnal pleasure while she the bully and tomboy was still a virgin.
She wanted so much to hate Sophia for causing her this pain that tore her heart apart but she couldnt bring herself to do that.
Sophia was her flesh and blood, they both had shared the same womb.
She sighed and walked to her dressing table, staring at the framed graduation photo of her and her twin sister.
They were both grining and looked very much alike, that had been almost seven years ago when they graduated from primary school.
A knock sounded at the door shattering her thoughts.
"Sonia i know you are there please open the door"Sophia's voice sounded from behind the door.
"just leave me alone i want to think"she replied and sanked on her bed grabbing her pillow tightly.
"please i didnt do it intentionally"
"i know, just go,go and stay with your Aunt" she retorted with a note of sarcasm.
She heard the sound of retreating footsteps as Sophia left the doorpost.
....what was the troublemaker Ijeoma doing here? She wondered, biting her lower lip.
The last time Aunt Ijeoma visited she had left Angrilly when her parents had advised her to stop hanging out with the Guys in thier street that smoked and dranked.
She had left not after telling them that she wouldnt step her feet in thier house again.
So what brought her back??
. . . . . .Dinner consisted of well pounded Eba with okra soup which Sophia had pain stakingly prepared, the soup was watery and Walter bluntly told her so.
"maybe she thought i came with the stomach of all our relatives in the village so she added enough water"Ijeoma remarked with a smirk while Sophia reddened in Embarassment.
"Dad thanks, mum thanks,Aunty IJ thanks" Sonia mumbled and stood up quietly,Rebecca glanced at her husband who in turn glanced at her.
Sonia was behaving strangely..what was wrong? Was the question in thier Eyes.
* * * * *
The youngman had been standing outside thier gate since only God knows when.
Who was he looking for? Rebecca wondered as she drove out of the compound in her red peugot car which had been a gift from walter when they had celebrated thier fifteen years anniversary, although it was nearly five years since the car was given to her it was still in Good shape much to the Envy of her friends.
She glided the car to a halt and rolled down the car window.
"who are you looking for?"she asked ,staring at the youngman.
He respectfully removed his hands from his trouser pocket.
"good afternoon ma,am.." he paused looking Embarassed.
"am looking for Sonia" he completed grining sheepishly.
Rebecca let out a gush of breath, her eyes swept his outfit approvingly,He didn't look like he was Sonia's friend though.
Maybe he mistook thier names.
"Sonia or Sophia?" She asked, drumming her fingers on the steering wheel.
David frowned fleetingly,She noticed his reaction and smiled.
"oo you don't know they are twins"
he nodded looking bewildered.
"well,Sonia went for audition and Sophia is at the town library reading,no need lurking around"
"thank you ma"
"you are welcome"she smiled and drove off leaving behind cloud of smokes...
~ ~ ~ ~David felt confused,Sonia was a twin? And she hadn't bothered to tell him.
He would find out! He changed direction and headed towards the town library....

Chinweblinks: I have read through this story and I can only tell you to keep it up and keep getting better.
Some mistakes has been corrected and I am glad you took to them all. Having said that, I think I should commend you for putting up this story, reason is that, I find this kind of story boring to write, but mind you, they are very intersting when you read them.
Sophia, Sonia, only God knows how confused I would have been if this were to be a movie.
Good job big sis

He was flipping through the bulky file his secetary had dropped on his table that morning,His thoughts were far and wild.
What had brought Ijeoma here? Walter wondered and sighed helplessy.
Her visit had left him in cold feets, that Girl wouldnt destroy his marriage.
Never!
She had left the last time with a sure promise that she wouldnt step her dainty_no i mean_dirty legs on his house.
What brought her back?
He was lost in thoughts when the heavy oak door opened and _talk of the devil_Ijeoma catwalked into his office with a smug grin on her smooth chocolate face.
He sat up...."who allowed you in?"
Ijeoma chuckled seeing the scowl on his face.
"your secetary ofcourse,i told her we are family"
"she should have informed me"
She waved him off sardonically and dropped her leopard skinned handbag on the mahogany table.
"see Ij am busy right now,you should have told me you were coming to my office".
"and you would have warned your secetary not to let me in,am not a dummy you know"
He sighed, resigned. "okay okay please sit down"
He gazed at her intently as she complied, crossing her legs in a provocative manner. He had an unresistable Urge to throw her out of his office.
"so..we are family then"Her voice brought him out of his reverie.
"yes...."
"and family means a lot you know,i wonder how your wifey would feel when i let the cat out of the bag"
Walter froze but quickly recovered "she is your sister for chrisst sake" he stressed.
Ijeoma smirked "i don give a freaking damn you know"
"why are you so bent on ruining my family?"he asked quietly.
She sat upright with a menacing scowl on her face. "who is ruining each other here? We had a deal but you screwed it"
"Ij am sorry you should know that money dont grow on trees"
she pounded her fist on the table.
"you should have known that too before screwing my friend, now the poor girl doesnt have enough to feed herself and her son"she remarked, her voice a pitch higher than normal.
"okay i agree, but what i did with linda was just something any married man out there would have done when he was ar_oused and i have been depositing money into your account to help her"
Ijeoma snorted "when was the last time you did that? Mönths ago! You think the peanuts you send her is enough to last her and the baby?" she asked hotly, the atmosphere in the office was some degrees up,Walter fidgetted..he was in an awkward situation.
These Ij of a person never took 'NO' for an answer.
He wished he could rewind the hands of the clock,he wouldnt have had an affiar with linda no matter how exciting it had been.
"see am been kind here,my friend threatens to come to your residence and tell your wife if you dont do something" Ijeoma remarked.
He sighed and scratched his head.
"this is blackmail, you and your friend are extorting money from me for no reason"
"taa"she rebuked him and let out an eloquent curse.
"you went for paternal test with her didn't you? And moreover the child is your exact carbon-copy,your wife will be so much overjoyed when she sees him"
"b_itch"he spat out, unable to control his anger.
"well lemme act like i didnt hear it....anyway my friend needs money seriously, the child had measles of lately and the provisions has exhausted"
He swallowed hardly "measles? Hope he is fine?"
Ijeoma smiled, she knew she had hit gold, the trick had worked, she watched as he wrote a cheque...
Half would go to her pocket...
Quarter would go to poor linda..
And the other quarter would go to her boyfriend Emma.
* * * *
He felt like crying as he took a second gulp of the tea,no sugar_no chocolate, just twenty naira cowbell milk.
From the corner of his Eyes he watched as his mother ransacked the drawers, looking for the leftover cabin biscuits that was supposed to serve as his bread.
"Efe what happened to the biscuits i kept here this morning?" Mother asked, standing hands akimbo.
"i gave...it to mikel" he replied hestitantly.
She hissed "stupid boy,now you are going to drink your tea like that and don't expect me to give you anything" she retorted and walked out of the røom.
He sighed helplessly,Mother was always like that, calling him 'stupid' all the time.
When he grows up he would show her that he wasnt stupid.
As for now,he would swallow it all.

He found her in the library, sitting farther down the hall near the window, she was leafing through a thick cover Use of English textbook.
David walked over to were she sat and touched her shoulder, his touch was like an electric jolt, she spranged up and..froze as thier eyes locked.
She sure looked like Sonia except she was natural and more beautiful even without earrings and makeup.
"excuse me are you Sophia?" he asked, flashing her his dis_arming smile.
"erm ..yeah,can I help you?"
"yes you can,am David your sister's friend,i know she must have told you something about me"
she shooked her head "erm..i don't think i remember her saying anything about any David"
He frowned and slowly lowered his bulk in the plastic chair beside her,he noticed she was uncomfortable in his presence and unconciously doodled on the back of her jotter.
"maybe she had one or two reasons why she didn't tell you about me,maybe she didn't take our relationship serious, maybe she is playing games with me".
"i don't know oo" she replied dully.
"please i want you to talk to her,she has been avoiding me,she doesnt pick my call..."
"hey hey it is enough" she interjected and he felt downcast.
"see I love your sister with all my heart"
"David..and i repeat David...this is not the right place to talk about your relationship issues,as you can see..am reading"she retorted in a cold voice that sent chills down his spine.
He stared hard at her calculatively.
"you are bad very bad,i came all the way to talk to you about your sister and you couldnt even listen to me."he paused, clenching his fists.
"listen to me,if Sonia leaves me you will be in hot soup,i will scr_ew up your life and leave you to the mercy of thugs and touts, don't call it a bluff" he stressed a little above whisper.
"are you threatening me?" Sophia asked, bewildered.
"babe i dont threaten people,i make promise and i dont fail to keep my promise...take it or leave it.
I haven't felt for anyone the way i feel for Sonia and you owe me a lot by talking sense into her head.Good day,we will see" he remarked and stood up,he walked away with a swaggish limp on his left leg.
Sophia buried her face in her hands.
What had she gotten herself to?
And what had happened to his dreadlock?

CHAPTER THREE
The sun was scorching hard and the street was a helluva of yellow sun rays,Hawkers yelled at the top of thier voice "buy cold water" "buy cold zobo" "buy cold mineral".
Due to the intensity of the sun people rushed for the commodities, they needed anything cold to quench thier thirst.
Sophia hurried home with a card of postinor pills inside her satchel,in between the biology textbook.
She had spent few hours at the library after David left before hurrying to a chemist shop four street away,She had felt quilty as she handed the piece of paper to the man in charge, his eyes swept at her accusingly and with a relentless sigh he went to the shelf and returned with the drug.
She didnt ask him how it should be taken, feeling quilty and uncomfortable with the way his eyes never left her face,as if memorizing it.
Now,she cursed herself.she was to be blame,David hadn't forced himself on her.If she had showed a minute hestitation He would have gotten over himself.
She deserved to be spanked, now her knight in shining armour couldnt differentiate her from her sister. She couldnt forget how shocked she had been when she had looked up into his hazel eyes.
She saw the fire of recognition dance in his eyes that minute but she had been disappointed when he had asked if she was Sonia's sister and when He had gone about the way he Loved Sonia.
Phew.! Confusion..
And here she was walking in a hurry with a contraceptive pill in between her textbook.
Heaven Help Her...
She had realized she was at the risk of being pregnant so she had darted four streets away _were she didnt stand a chance of been recognized_and had gotten the drug.
Hope it wasn't late?
* * *
Mother had told him not to step his legs out of the compound that they were expecting an important visitor and he should behave himself and act like a good boy.
He felt restless, the tennis ball he was playing with held no fancy. He wanted so much to leave the room and dash for Mikel's compound which was a stone throw from thiers.
He glanced at the bed,Mother's eyes were closed, she appeared to be napping.
He picked the tennis ball and silently sneaked out of the room,He groaned as he bumped into someone at the entrance gate.
"hey small boy"
He looked up and frowned fleetingly, who was this woman calling him 'small'?.
Linda appeared at the door post, standing hands akimbo.
"ha..you are here already,Efe greet aunty Ijeoma, and where did you think you were going?"
Efe mumbled below his breath just as the lady in red short gown caressed his hair.
"he has grown"..Ijeoma remarked with a tinge of pride.
Linda covered the distance between them and hugged her briefly.
"you look good" IJ declared.
Linda smiled wanly "for where? When hunger wants to kill Us"
she eyed the quarter bag of rice, one litre kings tin vegetable oil and the provisions IJ came with.
"my sister it is the same everywhere"
Linda smiled slyly,it is the same everywhere while your gown and brazilian wig cost more than my feeding allowance for three months..she mused.
Who did IJ think she was deceiving?
She would show her that two can play at the game.
* * *
Rebecca felt giddy,Walter had consented to the idea of having a housemaid after the surprise picnic and two hours of Love_making.
She had gone to his place of work around three o'clock and had dragged him out of the office to the nearest field which she had arranged for the picnic.
Everything had gone as she had planned, she had taken him by surprise.
After the picnic She drove him to thier flat were they engaged in two hours of s_ex,it was the best lay she had ever had.
She "oohed" and "aahed" and hadnt given a damn if anyone was around..luckily they were the only one at home and with the discovery they had taken the romance to the bathtub and ended it on the bed after a slow shower.
"woman you will not kill me" Walter retorted with a grin,he playfully spanked her on her b_uttocks.
"honey I love you so much,I did it for the undying love i have for you,i wanted to surprise you" she remarked as she placed her head on his shoulder.
"you took me by surprise" He affirmed.
...He wondered what would have happened if she had come an hour earlier when IJ was still perched on his table with inviting open thighs as he wrote the cheque.
Thank God...
Ijeoma wanted him to get between her legs, but he wasnt going to betray the Trust his wife had for him.
Linda's case was enough lesson.

You have to improve the way you update. Even if it is once per day, at least people will see something to read and will be in anticipation for the following day.
*A secret: To win awards and prizes on Nairaland, even if you have the best story people won't vote for you. The only thing that could pull more votes to your side is simply how regular your updates are.
Its a simple logic, if you have a story that could be rated a little above average, but you update like three times per day and there is another writer with a story that is almost perfect, as in 100percent but he updates once in a blue moon.
The follwing things are to your advantage;
1. Your story won't leave the first page of the literature section. Hence, people will see it more often, new readers I mean.
2. It increases your views
3. It increases your chance of making the frontpage
4. Regular updates keep readers happy and they in turn do anything to pay you back. They will vote for you enmass and even campaign for you.
I know you have a life outside Nairaland, but hey! Here on Nairaland, they tell you, don't start what you can't finish.
One update per day is the least you can do. Just try to improve, okay?
