Excessively hot beverages ain't also good for the body but its even better than cold drinks.

Just few weeks ago I was talking on one thread about how bad dieting is the cause of the deaths spree in Nollywood and I included cold water as one of the things to avoid. But one fool replied and said a lot of rubbish about me. It's a pity when you try to warn Nigerians they refuse instruction claiming they know better.

Many years ago a reputable doctor as LUTH warned me about things that I should and should not eat. Cold water was one of the things he told me is not good for health.

Human beings are Homothermic, whether the environmental temperature is hot or cold, a normal person should have a temperature range of 34 to 37 celsius

Lol there are loads of medical advice out there, many of which are erroneous. How much research & observation has gone into this?

We hear these sort of things all the time, one minute they say fat is not good for you, the next, they say it is.. Which are we to follow?

They fact is, if you choose to heed lots of these advices, you're going to live a very stressful & paranoid life.

I drink cold water all day, in summer or winter as a matter of fact, tap water is cold water. The human body is engineered to regulate itself based on both internal & external factors, thereby ensuring there's a constant state of metabolic equilibrium (this is called homeostasis)

So I trust my body to take care of itself, if the water I ingest is too cold, then warm it!!

Abi oh. If I'm hot and thirsty and my head feels like a blown gasket it is my brain that tells me boy you need to sink your body temperature fast or go into shock. It is the body that sends the signals and not some wierd desire.

In those days as kids when we run temperature the doctor gives an ice bath before treatment to bring down the body temperature to avoid brain damage. Lowering core body temperature is therapeutic. Michael Schumacher body was cooled to allow his brain recover after the skiing accident. It preserves many organs from degeneration.

Abeg science like the bible should always be viewed in context. The body and brain can't be wrong all the time. If they demand cooling better cool them down or else....

Bravo! I know someone who complains of chest discomfort several times while I advised her to check her BP regularly. Her BP was shown to be at normal readings. Therefore, this cold water info as given me a vital hint of what could be the primary cause of her chest on/off discomfort..
