The theme (by Bear McCreary) is on my phone, it's bloody brilliant. Just finished the episode, I called the twist - the minute Mrs Barton pointed out the potential of doom, but the reveal that Flint was the recipient was still surprising. The show is just freaking fantastic, we shall sail in the black together.
To be honest, I'm surprised anyone wants to be Flint, he carries too many secrets, the world on his shoulders and keeps putting himself in situations that he can't remove himself out of. Everytime someone tries to save him, he digs himself deeper into the wahala.
So happy to find someone to gist with about the show. Captain Flint is just one of a kind. I couldn't believe the way he became a captain again right from the point of getting thrown off the ship with only his life. Even the genius guy who was captain then couldn't believe how he twisted the whole situation to favour himself. I never really knew the depth of the bound between him and Mrs. Barton until this last episode. I cringe anytime I remember what was revealed. As for that theme song hmm...it's so perfect for the show. I have the whole album on my phone. Imagine urself on a luxury cruise on the high seas and next thing, u see a big ship approaching from a distance and u start hearing that song from hugh speakers right in the middle of the ocean. Even without them flying the black, u won't need anyone to tell u what is about to happen. The Pirates are coming!!! grin.

pls who has watched "Atlantis" seasons 2$3??

send me a mail or just like
There's no season 3. There won't be any in fact because the show has been cancelled. There are a total of 19 episodes from Season 1 to 2. Anything beyond that isn't real. It ends with...don't let me spoil the experience if u havn't seen it yet. It isn't a bad show actually but sadly they've pulled the plug sad

I'm okay with the reveal, you men keep acting all sensitive about the issue, you guys keep dwelling on the fact - it doesn't define him, but it explains some of his guilt. Like Silver pointed out the guy actually cares what people think about him, with all the things he's done to become the most feared pirate (Vane is still one BAMF, but even he knows not to mess with Flint lightly, hence that cliffhanger), imagine the minefield that is Flint's mind...
Plus, the reveal was not a cheap sweepstakes tactic - the actor was told this from day one, it was always there, it doesn't make Flint less scary or less manly or less anything. He's still one scary BAMF, SoB and brilliant tactician who understands how human beings work, that scene where he got back his captaincy is still one of the best & diabolically deviant plan I've seen on current tv. Seriously, if he was in charge of the show Revenge, he would have sorted that ish out in the first episode. He's so single minded with his obsession that he'll go through anyone (except Mrs. Barton) to get it, the guy is a steamroller and everyone is the ground.

Catching up on Gotham, gotta love Fish Mooney's rallying speech, "some of you're going to die, yes I said it." Ol' girl was illegal jail in day 1 and by the end of that day she was the shot-caller.
Fish is one of my fave characters. Jst gotta luv Jada Pinkett.

I know some folks have issue with the OTT acting of Jada as Fish, but I just love the character. Like the time she was going to be tortured, she didn't show any fear, she was defiant until Butch came to her rescue...then the way she let all that bravado go in one breath. Look at how she pulled option C in the latest episode...

U need to see the way I was grinning while reading ur comment. Feels so real like u are standing in front of me talking. Vane won't go down easily cos he's also a like a cat with nine lives and his the most formidable opponent to Flint in whole scheme of things. I don't see him dying anytime soon. I was quite scared the new blood-thirsty captain about 2 episodes ago was going to really mess things up...until Vane sawed his head off grin . Stupid fellow. As for the revelation, hmm...don't blame men for feeling like that. I honestly didn't see it coming that way. Who wouldn't feel sensitive about something like that. Imagine the kind of image of people like Chuck Norris, Commando, Rambo, Steven Sigel and the likes from ur childhood only to wake up one day and discover they are gay. grin Nothing against them o. Just saying u'd be startled a little. U have summed up that captainacy recovery plan aptly. The shock of the whole thing would linger on for so long. No one will think of crossing Flint anytime soon. Kudos to the writers for weaving such a scheme that feels so real, plausible and original with any iota of being a silly joke.

I like the Fish character though I sometimes feel Jada tends to overdo some things. I think that's the way she takes her work generally. If I remember correctly, during the auditions for the character, Jada (dressed in leather) walked into the audition room with a man on a leash like a dog in her hand. Needless to say the producers/panel were lost for words I guess lol. I don't envy Will at all grin. Another thing is the makeup seems to always make her look too old. Maybe it's just me. The part she looked fearless in the face of torture until Butch rescued her made me laugh. I think that's the only time I've noticed her show any emotional side. I was like 'so u dey fear before'? grin Option C in the last episode was too much. I'm trying to imagine her with one eye and it's not nice at all. *covers face*

The guy is bisexual, I love how folks just forget there's a spectrum and not just extremes, seriously I was reading comments from guys on the tvfanatic review, they were really butt hurt* about it, talking about the gay agenda & how they tagged it into the show, how they were going to stop watching it, and how they were not homophobic, even though they kept proving this by being homophobic, irony how I love you. To quote Cosima from Orphan Black "my sexuality is not the most interesting thing about me," it doesn't change anything about them, just like the colour of a person's skin shouldn't change anything about them. If Babaginda, Abacha et al were anything but straight, would it have made all the atrocities committed any better or worse? Y'all guys need to stop being sensitive about these things, enough with the hyper masculinity. It's this type of thing that makes a father throw his son in the dustbin (see Empire, Lucious did it to Jamal as a kid, and this actually happened to Lee Daniels, one of the creators of the show) because he realised his son was gay. Don't worry it's not only guys, the way some ladies were tripping when they discovered Raven-Symone is gay, talking about their ruined childhoods. How the heck does an actor's sexuality ruin your childhood, how bad was your childhood?

Anywho, watching Vane handle Ned Low, I honestly paused the thing & slow clapped, rewound it, slow clapped some more, tweeted about it and might have yelled a lot.

*I hate using that term, but it seemed very appropriate for them.

Talk about a memorable audition, the character is OTT & I'm so happy she plays her that way. The chic is Gotham born & bred, she will cope okay with one eye, they've got a guy marking himself with every kill he makes, the girl will fit right in, she'll probably get a bedazzled diamond in her empty eye socket or some weird ish. Anything goes in Gotham. Her lovely eyes will be missed though. I see your point about the make-up, Jada's mother who's in her 60s still looks like she's her 30s with a 6 pack to boot (if I remember correctly).

I laughed so hard reading ur comment. Okay, I will stop sounding sensitive about the issue and just pretend it didn't happen. smiley For those guys saying they'd boycot the show, I doubt they can. It's too intense and engrossing to just wave off like that. Between me and u, it's still quite a long road for these issues to be fully ingrained in the society generally. Take for example the color of skin u mentioned. See how long the fight for equality has taken and yet we can't really say the fight has been won or will ever be at that. The Babangida and Abacha cases can be easily spiced with the voodoo angle by a lot of people to paint it in a more sinister light unlike the natural theme other 'normal' people would present theirs. Well enough of that. Vane did a good job with the Ned threat. The best for me was the inscription he placed with the head. The head even retained some expression of shock on the face lol

I closed my eyes to imagine Fish with a diamond in her eye socket...hmm...are u sure u don't have underground access to the show's scripts ma'am? It's very much like something they could do lol. Did u say her 60 something years old mum has six packs? That would make even Liu Xiaoqing go green with envy grin

She's 61, I'm jealous of a woman who is more than twice my age. I should just pin up her photo as motivation and work my butt off.

As for the script, I spend way too much time watching TV and films. I swear I was born in the wrong time, I should have been a super villain. Vane will start making folks want to kill people, just so they can leave "I angered Charles Vane" style messages.

That's Jada's mum?...and she's over 60? Wow! Her makeup artist on that show should be warned. I'm going to get more of her pictures.
Why would u want to be a super villain? Why not some kind of wonder woman or a new female super hero as we don't have many lol. I understand u perfectly feeling u spend too much time on t.v / films. I try to make conscious efforts to control myself now though. I once shared the list of the series I follow per week with a cousin and her reply was something like "u are abusing t.v shows" grin. I wonder how Vane would survive the latest fight though. Flint isn't going to back down definitely. He proved that by (in his own words) raining hell on the fort knowing fully well that'd put the whole island at risk. On the other hand, Vane isn't known for walking away from a fight talkless of one he started so daringly. He has proved that very well against Ned and 'raising from the dead' in season 1. Can't wait for the next episode

I use tvmuse to get my stuff and they've even got their own schedule, where you can add the shows you watch, I once had one day that had 10 shows and promptly thought about re-evaluating my life. I've actually abandoned some, not because I hated them, I just simply stopped watching them. The day I finally catch up on the last 2(?) seasons of The Good Wife and the last season of White Collar, I will probably die from all the collective drama. Damn you America! With your compelling entertainment and guilty pleasures masquerading as entertainment.
I honestly don't know how those two (Flint & Vane) will keep existing in the same universe, but it will be very entertaining to watch.

EDIT: Super villains do the worst things, I'd probably give my monologue, while I was killing James Bond or I'd just laugh and kill him anyway. Why waste my time talking to a dead man? Plus, I was blessed with an evil cackle, it feels wasted in real life.

Hahahaha...I need to do the same. Having 10 is quite bad. What if it's more than 10? Just asking...be honest with what the person should do grin. As for Vane and Flint, maybe the prospects of getting the gold would end their hostilities. There's enough to go round afterall. Flint, Vane and the other captain trying to put a new crew together could work together. 3 ships going back to that harbour where the gold is stuck would be better than one. The navy guarding the gold won't be expecting to see one of their own warships accompanied by two pirate ships launching an attack on them.

Ur type of super villain is very good. U want to just go straight for a good top guy on the list. Take out James Bond and all the heros would have sleepless nights thinking about that. I see what u mean when u say it's wasted in real life. Pls let it stay that way. Even I am beginning to get scared for the heros. grin

If it's more than 10 shows in one day, just don't tell anybody, they'll not understand and even if they do, they won't admit it. Since Black Sails is a prequel to the novel Treasure Island, I'm guessing the gold is the same one Flint buried in Treasure Island. To be honest, I've no idea how Flint & Vane's fight will end, the only thing I'm sure of is Flint will survive. And since Vane, Anne Bonny, Rackham (AKA Calico Jack) and Ned Low were actually real life pirates maybe they might die as they lived. Although, Black Sails made Ned Low die real quick, he actually outlived the others by a few years except Anne Bonny (who might have lived to her 80s, no one's sure, since there's no record of an execution).

Oh and if you decide to use tvmuse, look at the comments, since only official links now reside on the site, so folks just post them in the comments section.

Okay, I'd tell the person not to tell anyone grin . Hmm...it's possible the gold is the same. Funny to think Flint eventually hid the same gold without anyone getting it. Just imagine all the people he sacrificed and played to achieve that if it's the same gold stash. After seeing how witty and deadly he can be now, I agree the execution of such an epic plan isn't beyond him. Ned was done and dusted in very few episodes. As much as it would have been nice to have in around, I don't really miss him either. The only thing I imagined was what it would be like if Flint came back and met him on the island.

I should thank u for the tvmuse pointer, right? Thank u...when we both know it won't help the 'addiciton grin

Hmm...be careful what u wish for. Are u sure u want to dive in deep? Ok, try Black Sails, Vikings and Reign. The three mix horse riding, sword fights, twists and turns well. Vikings is quite gory if u don't mind though but it's a very nice production. Don't try the 3 at the same time or esle u may be pinned down more than u wished for. Big fan, hate to see it go, I'll miss Leslie Knope and her crazy. Chei! Now I'm thinking about Liz Lemon (30 Rock) and her crazy with the crazy folks she worked with.
Currently watching Empire...another level of crazy (Andre & Rhonda with their own wahala).

I won't be responsible if ur boss starts calling u to find out where u are late on monday morning grin

I have seen Vikings and I'm patiently waiting for the next season to be released later in the year. cool

However, Black Sails and Reign would keep me company over the weekend as I have ordered them from Dan Ibro's shop. grin I promise not to watch them all at the same time cuz I love my job..... and mondays, God knows I hate that day more than Garfield. angry
