1.8 million PVCs not collected in Lagos – INEC

According to the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Lagos state, Mr. Akin Orebiyi, 1.8 million Lagos state residents have not collected their Permanent Voters card. Mr Orebiyi said this while on a visit to the Lagos state governor at the Lagos house Ikeja, yesterday Friday February 27th.

"As at yesterday (Thurs­day), the total number of cards collected in Lagos to date is 3.693 million of 5.5 million cards that we collected so far from Abuja. At the moment, we are still expecting another 430,000 cards which should arrive by next week. But meanwhile, we still have in our custody 1.8 million cards yet to been collected by residents" he said.

The option of temporary voters card need to be seriously considered.

The PVC is not working. Those that have it should use it, whilst others should use Temporary Voters Card.


We have from now till 2019 to get it right with the PVC.

This is serious lagosian go and collect your PVC or do they want us to beg them.INEC should also relase the PVC of non-indigenes.They should stop dancing to the tune of APC rigging mechanism and stop hoarding the cards.This hoarding happens mainly in apapa at least that's what my cousin told me.

Imagine some PVC has not been printed yet jega told us he was ready.His systematic attempt to disenfrancise certain section of this nation has been scuttled.Everyday new reasons surface justifying the postponment.

The hide and seek games being played with the PVC is too much and unnecessary. Two in Lagos where caught red handed denying people their PVC and claiming they are not indigene.

How do we know they have actually given the right people the PVC? How do you know they have not selectively kept a particular group of people PVC.

Jega and his APC Inec official have played too many games. The PVC system is flawed and cannot be trusted.

The constitution / electoral act as amended :says/ provided that if you are registered to vote and possess a Voters card and your name appears on the voters register you must be allowed to vote!

Provided you arrive and make your self available for the accreditation and voting at the time stipulated!

JEGA has no right to deny any qualified Nigerian the opportunity to vote

A lot of people have not collected bcuz INEC devilishly and delibrately hoard it in the state capitals and expect rural dwellers to go to the state capital to collect them. Instead of using the pooling centers used in the registration which is closer to rural dwelers.

JEGA is just using this method to frustrate some region not to even come out to vote. Wen kasala burst now he wud be blamming PDP and security.

Imagine! 1.8million people have deliberately refuse to collect their PVCs, something I collected november last year in less than 5minutes and people will blame INEC..

Yet they claim they were ready for elections two weeks ago. Over 400,000 PVC not yet delivered! So the owners of those missing PVCs should just seat back and whistle?

Do you have any evidence that 1.8m people "deliberately refused to collect their PVCs"? I know of at least two people who have been through hell just to collect theirs, to no avail (both in Ojo LGA).

What if the election had held? So the yet to be delivered PVCs would not have been gotten by their owners. No wonder some said INEC isn't ready for the elections. Thank God for the postponement

Their is no any possibility that this election'll hold as rescheduled.From what am seeing Re-postponement is inevitable.

Those 1.8million ppl should go and collect their pvc ooo. I dont trust any party or inec itself cos on election day it wud be said dat only a few is remaining whereas dey have taken majority of de ones not collected yet 2 achieve thier aims of rigging elections. DON'T SALE YOUR VOTE.
