Ex-President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and human rights activist, Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, has dismissed the strength of the opposition ahead of the forthcoming elections.

He said the stiff competition does not make this year’s elections different from previous ones as both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are driven by lust for power to amass wealth.

“I would have preferred a debate from both sides but what we hear are deafening noise that makes no sense.

All I can say is that the 2015 election psyche is the same as that of the 1999, 203, 2007 and 2011; nothing has changed,” he told Saturday Vanguard in an interview.

“There will be a winner and the loser will go to court and the same thing goes on and on. But I think the only way is to change the structure.”

Agbakoba said the change being talked about by the APC is not the kind of change Nigeria needs.

Agbakoba knows that APC is not the party we need cos they are good at making promises they cannot fulfil.

They say they will fight corruption meanwhile their major financier, Tinubu, is smelling heavily of corruption. Atiku's case is too bad that I can't even mention it here.

They say they will stabilise oil price meanwhile OPEC, an international organisation that comprises countries that are major producers of oil, who is even the only body that has the strongest influence on oil price is still unable to stabilise oil price.

They say they will create jobs meanwhile the bulk of the unemployed youths are resident in the states where they control (ie Lagos and Kano) and they've not been able to solve the unemployment crises in their state.

They say they will eradicate Boko Haram but they never told us how they would do it differently from the way Jonathan is doing it. I'm sure they are even surprised at our current victory against the terrorist.

Truly, APC is a clueless party.

The only change APC meant was "Asin power much change hands, cos itz our turn to go into an act of thievery"

The only job opportunities waiting for our young graduates under the leadership of APC are

1...Brt Bus Drivers

Maybe

but this is the first time a party is giving the pdp a run for their money and that makes a lot of difference.

Imagine, out of six weeks added to the election, six ships were commissioned to the nave. Two power stations were also commissioned. Boko are rams are on the run. Why?

Coz someone is afraid to lose the election.

Now... Assume the election is between pdp and apga.

My friend.... There are a lot of differences.

Infact, this is the first time am gonna vote coz to me, this election is very different.

Lets see someone sweat for the votes.

All i want now is a change in government.

APC..........#CHANGE!!!

I wish Nigerians sense. All we need to be like the developed countries we all admire is just sense. The only perceived difference between PDP and APC is the word POWER and the word CHANGE. Now, Ask yourself, is it power to the leads or to the leaders or just power(electricity)? CHANGE, what an irony. If you ask me, the only thing that needs change in Nigeria is how APC canvasses for hatred instead of votes. After election comes what? We, Nigerians should stop following the crowd....let's learn to stand on what we believe not what your family believe, not what your friend believe, not what your community believe.
And again, very important, please let's learn to love this innocent country, it's our country. It is not THEIR country. Be a good Nigerian and let love rules.
If you observe very well you will see that Nigeria is being prone to things that she is premature of. Let's support the govt. Don't distract! The worst punishment students can give to any teacher is NOISE MAKING no matter how the teacher feign "I-don't-care". VOTE WISELY, I AM NOT VOTING and I NEVER VOTED

For pro-GEJites the 2015 campaign is about Buhari, Buhari and Buhari. For pro- GMBites the 2015 campaign is about Nigeria, Nigeria & Nigeria.

Questions for Jonathan and PDP
1. Why was (is) "Boko Haram" busy destroying
states and areas that the opposition party will
win convincingly in the presidential election?
2. If we are to believe that the opposition were
the brains and architects of "Boko Haram",
then why is it that they have never ever
attacked and destroyed any prominent PDP
figure or their properties?
3. If the opposition have the capability of
arming "terrorists" with armour tanks, RPGs,
AA Guns, military uniforms, military trucks,
helicopters and the ability to command
soldiers to vanish from military checkpoints,
wouldn't they have targeted to destroy PDP
strongholds and their assets?
4. Why would the opposition seek to destroy
their own strongholds anyway? To achieve
what?
5. Why was (is) "Boko Haram" targeting to
destroy basically only prominent northern
politicians and their traditional rulers and their
communities?
6. In the light of questions 1 to 5 above, why
has there been a deliberate campaign of lies
and propaganda by the PDP and their religious
wing that collect bribes in billions of naira that
"Boko Haram" is the baby of the opposition?
7. Of all the cars used by "suicide" bombers
retrieved from the scene of their attacks, to
whom were the cars traced after forensic
investigations? Why is it that nothing is ever
heard after such evidences have been collated
at the scenes since 2011?
8. At the last count, over 500 hundred "Boko
Haram" suspects have been in detention since
2009, but why is it that government hasn't
been able to come clean on those sponsoring
the "terrorists", and why is it that, with such a
huge treasure trove, government has not been
able to know and curtail the operational
methods of the "terrorists"?
9. Why did the "terrorists" become stronger
after a scandalous 33 billion dollars (over 4
trillion naira) was expended on the so called
war against them?
10. Isn't it curious and suspicious that a
ragtag group called "Boko Haram" whose bulk
of fighters possibly had only one week
trainings could overcome and overrun our
military men who spend 5 years in the NDA,
some months in Jaji, and some months also
at the National War College in Abuja apart
from several overseas trainings?
11. Why was it that, at a point from 2013, the
Nigerian military was not taking the war to
"Boko Haram" camps in the deserts of the
northeast instead of waiting for "Boko Haram"
to come on the offensive?
12. Since when has repulsion become the best
form of defence instead of attack?
13. Why did "Boko Haram" have the most
freedom to operate and destroy so many
towns and villages during all the period of
State of Emergency that was supposed to have
made them immobile?
14. Was the State of Emergency some fraud
pulled off to empower the "terrorists" and
make the targeted communities sitting ducks
for easy elimination?
15. Who was providing "Boko Haram" with fuel
and other logistics in their camps considering
how they easily move with long convoys of
trucks to operate without challenge?
These are not the only questions.... There are
many more. But they've not been able to
answer any of these, rather they always want
to heap their scheme on others.
These questions and many more could be the
reason they are mortally scared of losing
political power. But it just can't continue like
this anymore.
Change is a basic constant in life.

True talk. the APC leaders know their 'change' is all a ruse. the koko is to get into power and then they will start 'changing'. Oga Jona too has/had his weaknesses. for the sake of MB and time, I won't be able to list them. However, let's be wise. Vote GEJ and let's make his weaknesses known to him, so that Nigeria will be better.
Anyways, HAPPY NEW MONTH EVERYBODY

One thing i realise in this election is there is no better option between the two major parties involved
..

I hereby decide to stick with a known devil who is transforming rather than vote for a man that will use the same ideology he used as a military head of state in 1983 to rule Nigeria again (buhari said it not me oo) even when there was no viable change in the economy then

I understand his frustration but the plain truth is that Nigeria cannot continue on the same path we've been on for the next four years. Corruption and insecurity have increased while power remains a distant dream. Sixteen years of PDP rule with nothing to show for it demands that we try something else. APC is that "something else".

And someone should tell GEJ and Okupe and their goons to stop calling me and asking me to support PDP for money. No be by force. Over my dead body. I am not like those Nigerians who used to make sensible contributions on NL before and were swayed by money and now sound like imbeci.les when they talk. I will always tell the truth and stand for what is right till the day that I die.

I used to love GEJ. In fact, my NL moniker was chosen in his honor. But voting for him in April 2011 was a huge mistake

Bring Buhari Back from London?? I laugh in hausa at your ignorance. If JonaTAN and his cretins had their way, they would've made Buhari, their new nemesis disappear from the face of the earth. The last thing Jonathan and his cretins want now is Buhari coming back to Nigeria to revive the momentum...but unfortunately for them, Mai Gaskiya is on his way soon to revive the momentum.

Change the governing structure to fiscal federalism should be the ideal thing to pursue now, but there are the diffident groups in Nigeria who wrongly believe that without crude oil in the Nigerdelta they can survive; will the diffident groups agree to changing the governing structure to make leaders more accountable to the led?
