For the first, I understand where you're coming from. Back then when they started, it was just 50MB that was allowable for download to they increased it to 100MB. They're still improving. Alternatively, you can slot your SIM card into another phone and tether with it.

For the second, you not receiving BBM alert depends on your phone settings (you prolly turned off the toast notification on the app itself). Check your BBM settings or your notification centre settings.

I have set others but Bbm donot have such in its settings

I somewhat had this problem until I checked my BBM notification settings and saw that my live tile was turned off.

So you're the only Windows Phone user that don't know BBM on windows phone has notification issues setting or no setting?
I am lost bro. . .

are u telling me u cant download some apps via phone nextwork except you use WIFFI.
no need to get pissed of. Microsoft intentionally did it. the max cap for downloading on mobile network is 100mb. it's the same on ios platform.

Even if you turn on all notifications, BBM on windows phone has issues. Sometimes if you don't open the app your chats won't drop in. Sometimes you will receive notification and won't see the chat.
The issue is minimal now compare to when BBM was first launched. But it still occur.

if you're good with handling screw drivers and phone parts, its an added advantage...i bought my Lumia 520 screen touch for 1k and I fixed it myself... You should get get the screen for as low as 6k..,I'd advice you not to go to slot, they are thieves.., they charged me 8k to fix that same touch screen few months ago. So I'd advice u to buy d part u want to fix urself and take it to either alaba or ikeja

lol, all customised Customer Care Centres are thieves. i took my few months old infinix for charging port repair and was told 11k said its not part of the repair under warranty. then my bro took it to a repairer close to my house for just #700. Men, since then i respect these road side repairer ooo

I enjoy my phone (520) it has ALL the relevant apps and serves me very well. The problem I've noticed most people having with the windows phone platform is that they allow too many people access into determining their choices especially guys who're into "pimping" of phones. Those guys will never EVER advice you to choose windows over android because it spoils market for them. With a windows phone, you download what you actually need by yourself from the app store instead of getting a corrupted file + plenty virus from a guy man somewhere at computer village

I noticed too. When I got mine, I was ridiculed by my guys but what they do not know is you take what works best for you. I have the apps that I need and I'm ok.

-Yes bc i had to log on bb every 5 min to check if my boss has sent me msg.
-I cant download important application i need despite having 7gb and using wifi
- Cant seem to find anything i download via ucweb and opera mini

Its share waste madness for Microsoft to produce such expensive phones with these limitation. I abadoned my Note 8 when I read pple review about Lumia phones... its just an unnessary hype...Imgine using a 48k android phone

First, is it loaded with Windows Phone 8.1? If yes, download files from store. It should help you locate your downloaded files.
That BBM issue, you're not the only one having it... Unseen also has the issue. I think it is a fault from the app developers and hopefully, their next update will rectify it. You can help by rating and reviewing it on Windows store.
I don't know about Android but I think there's a download limit also. Well, good luck getting a phone that suits you.
Lumia is not unnecessarily hyped. It's a cool phone.

when you start crying about not being able to download just 90 MB over mobile network, could you do us a favor and not post it on nairaland? why would a phone manufacturer put a cap on mobile data downloads through the network? if it has no use, don't do it! or can any fanboy explain to us why they did that? for the records, I have used windows phone for 2years and very so!pls and little features their phone lacks made me get an android. buy wisely bro.

bro, its better you keep quiet about what you don't rather than typing assumptions. I downloaded 1.8Gb on my phone via mobile network. BTW, why are u trying to defend these mediocre phone makers?

Didn't you see where I added a disclaimer? undecided
Besides, I think the limit is tied to Windows store. . .

Mariesio, I found this to be useful. Basically, if you have data sense, try setting it to unlimited and check if you can download large files. Tell us if it worked. . .

The 100mb download limit on windows store does not work all the time oh!.. I for one have downloaded 2 apps sized above 100mb with my mobile network from the app store.
Don't know how I did it but I know one thing for sure, the developer review allows me do a lot of things normal persons don't do..
