Yoruba Ronu! You Stand To Lose By Voting PDP (jimi Agbaje) In Lagos by VirginFinder: 11:08pm On Apr 06, 2015
Let me start by saying I have nothing personal against Jimi Agbaje.
It's just that I am not comfortable with his environment and the tide he is trying to ride to power.

Fellow Yorubas, make no mistake about it, Jimi Agbaje is more or less a candidate of the ibos and a coalition of most of the non Yorubas in Lagos.
Infact, ibos were already eyeing the deputy governorship slot under him before common sense prevailed and the idea was shelved.

Jimi Agbaje hopes to ride to power on the back of the anti Yoruba sentiment held by most ibos and non Yorubas in Lagos.
For that reason, supporting him will be foolhardy.

There is nothing more Yorubas can gain under a Jimi Agbaje administration that they have not gained in the previous administrations and even incoming Ambode's.
Rather, there is everything to lose! Let me explain:

1. Political appointments:
Jimi Agbaje has promised ibos more political appointments than they currently enjoy. What this means is that prominent, qualified Yorubas will have to give way in key ministries for ibos to occupy. Tinubu had to create a ministry from thin air to accommodate Ben Akabueze as commissioner cos he just couldnt replace a Yoruba with an ibo man. How many more will Jimi Agbaje create? Yorubas will just have to give way. Who loses? Yorubas.

2. Civil service/parastatal jobs:
With a substantive number of ibos holding political positions in Lagos, there is bound to be a huge influx of ibos into the civil service. Jimi Agbaje cannot afford to run an overbloated civil service. Hence, Yorubas will have to give way to accommodate the huge incoming ibos.
Who loses? Yorubas.
Sometime ago I was watching Sunrise Daily on Channels and an ibo APGA house of assembly candidate in Lagos was lamenting the overwhelming majority of Yorubas in LASTMA, KAI, LAWMA etc. He started calling for inclusion of all ethnic groups.
This is a classic example of what I am talking about.

3. Contracts:
Trust ibos to start competing with Yorubas for choice contracts in Lagos and even trying to outsmart them one way or the other. With fellow ibos in political positions, they'll have a good fighting position.
Who loses? Yorubas.

4. ibos are insatiable ingrates. If you give them an inch, they'll ask for a yard.
In no time, they'll want to become deputy governor and then governor. They dont mind having everything even the palace.

5. And so on and so forth.

How to checkmate the ibos:
Simple. Let us shun party affiliations and vote the APC candidate, Akinwumi Ambode.
With Jimi Agbaje already having most ibos and non indigenes in his bag, splitting our votes senselessly will be disastrous.

But if we can all vote for Ambode, you can be sure that we will emerge victorious against any alliance of non indigenes led by ibos.We are no doubt in the majority.

The matter at hand is beyond APC vs PDP. It is now a straight contest between the Yorubas and the ibos.

Let us join hands together and put them to shame.

Do you have any grouse against Tinubu? Please just keep that aside for now. All the issues will be resolved in-house.

ibos are set to break the Yoruba hegemony in Lagos using Jimi Agbaje and we must not allow them.

If Jimi Agbaje emerges, ibos will take the glory for it without minding if Yorubas voted for him or not.

Remember APC won the presidential election because they focussed on issues rather than pdp age long strategy of manipulating ethnic sentiments! APC should continue its issue based campaign that it is known for!

I've never seen a set of people so greedy and shameless they even have the guts to display their unmannered culture and ingratitude to their benefactors!

At the bolded, its so true.
Am not a segregationist, am a Yoruba Muslim, and I can boast of many non-yoruba non-muslims. We are equal, no segregating, but truth has to be told.

Ndigbos can complain how they like, we should care less, lemme take you guys back history times.

The Benues accepted the Fulanis in, and the fulas have a problem, if they stay too long in an area collectively, they start to claim real occupants. Go and ask the Benues what the fulas are doing them now, Fulanis are claiming Benue as their land, how impossible

Take a look at our Yoruba own, Ilorin, Afonja, the then Monarch accepted the fulas in, and they ended up betraying him, killing him in the process.
Till tomorrow, Ilorin, a Yoruba land, will carry a Fulani monarch title......Emir.

If we don't stamp authority now, the ndigbos would not only vie for gubernatorial posts, but later monarchical posts.

Lagos is for everybody, but not equally.

If they want to develop Lagos, they should go to Abia, Enugu, Imo, and Ebonyi and develop there and then come and compete with Lagos.

Remember, EKO O GBA IGBAKUGBA

This article is shocking and inconceivable.

How someone could sit down and concoct so much lies just to perpetuate power is shocking.

I don't think Jimi has any arrangement to elevate or treat a certain ethnic group above others. OP, if you have anything that alludes in this direction, it won't be out of place to avail same.

When they say APC is full of lies and propanganda, this tops the scale. The effects of this lie is far-reaching and has the capacity to set this country on fire.

Yoruba Ronu! Why will Jimi tow this line when he enjoys support from his kinsmen, the other yoruba race and various other non-indigenes.

Is it Jimi's fault that certain non-indigenes riding on the PDP platform won the ticket to represent Lagos in a free, fair and credible elections? If Nigerians born in other countries can aspire to levels of governance, why cant we put aside our tribal affiliations and vote the person of our choice.

This article is a shame and must be condemned by all progressive minded individuals.
