They gave a very tenable reason for not allowing dem to use it now, not like anoda governor dat gave a reason of "stadium under renovation" to anoda party dat applied for it's use wen his own party used d same stadium for campaign earlier.

lets check it at this point of view, we have 3 independent ministries in naija appointed by mr president.
INEC
EFCC
ICPC
INEC chairman did his job well by the aid of the presideency even when people said mr president is tryng to scuttle the elections n induct an interim govt.
the other agencies what made them not to be effective when we all knw they r independent agencies. or will mr president gives u a job n tell u what to do, isnt that interferring which constitute abuse of office in a democratic settings?
The other agencies don't have the same level of Independence INEC has.

For instance, they don't enjoy first line charge allocation like INEC and it's a lot easier for the President to change the head of those 2 organizations.

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio, has refused the All Progressives Congress the use of Uyo Township Stadium for the hosting of President-elect, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

Buhari was scheduled to visit Akwa Ibom on Thursday, but as the state government denied the APC use of the Uyo Township Stadium, the visit had to be postponed till after the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.

The letter denying the APC the use of the stadium emanated from the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Youth and Sports, dated April 7, with ref. No. MYS/AD/146/VOL. 11/142 and made available to newsmen on Thursday.

The letter, which was signed by Mr. Nse Edem, on behalf of the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Akan Uko, stated that the request to use the stadium was denied because the Peoples Democratic Party in the state had applied to use it earlier.

“I am directed to refer to your letter of April 6, 2015 on the request for the use of Uyo Township Stadium and to inform you that the ministry had already approved the use of the stadium to the Peoples Democratic Party on April 9.

“You are by this letter please requested to look for any other alternative venue since the stadium had already been booked and would not be free for April 9.”

Reacting to the development, the Head of Media and Publicity, Umana Okon Umana Campaign Organisation, Mr. Iboro Otongaran, said the President-elect would not visit the state as scheduled due to the denial of the APC the use of the venue.

He said that efforts to get alternative venue had proved abortive as the party was so confident that the Uyo township stadium would be approved.

He called on the APC supporters not to worry, but to go out en masse on Saturday to vote for Umana as Akwa Ibom governor and all other APC candidates in the state House of Assembly.

This is the height of cluelessness. No plan B? They didn't consider the risk that the PDP government that built the stadium would not allow them use it?
For this alone i pray the APC candidate doesn't win the governorship election tomorrow. The man is clueless

Do you know Ambode graduated as an accountant from University of Lagos at the age of 21?

Do you know he became a Chartered accountant at the age of 24 ?

Do you know he became a fellow of the Institute of chartered accountants at the age of 36 ?

Do you know he was the second best graduating student in WAEC+HSE at Federal government college Warri ?

Do you know JK was a strong Tinubu boy in ACN but left the party when Tinubu decided to pick fashola over him simply because Tinubu felt fashola would do better in governance because he is a lawyer and SAN while JK is a Pharmacist ? Do you know it was the potentials that Tinubu saw in Fashola that now became evident to all of us in the governance of Fashola ?

Do you know Ambode was the Accountant General of Lagos state when Federal Government was not giving Lagos state any Allocation at all for some years(Tinubu was the governor) ? And Ambode/Tinubu had to put creative minds together to run lagos for four years(despite the huge population and responsibility) ?

Do you know Ambode has 26 years of Administrative/accounting experience ?

Ambode is a quiet man and he does not blow his horn too loud, but he is quality, just like Fashola.

Let's put sentiments aside, let's vote in the best interest of lagos.

Ambo, Atide. Eko oni Baje.

My position was very clear, "Amaechi was 100% wrong" for denying the President and Rivers people state property.
Buhari will extend his "anti-corruption" fight across board. From Amaechi, Rochas to Saraki, he will have to revisit the PTDF scandal, he will have to revisit the petition from "True Face of Lagos" against Fashola and every other petitions including the fraudulent transcorp deal by Obasanjo. Otherwise, he will be a lame duck to think of singling out Godswill Akpabio or any other PDP Chieftain. Let me reteirate that Buhari is bound to be a huge flop when he takes over mantle of leadership. But I wish him well for the sake of the country.
