there is no two ways abt it,either u work wt d condition, while searching 4 another job which i wil prefer or u quit and face starvation, even if u don't have children,d condition can be sacrificed knowing it is not forever.
wrong mentality.

Which is better- take courage and quit, even if you get no job immediately, at least you don't yoke yourself with what you don't know OR have the slave mentality and keep 'working' when you know everything surrounding it is wrong and cause your much loved family confusion later.

It is those same children who will tell you(if you told them about this case) - "Daddy, quit your job. We need you Daddy. You are more important to us than that job".

Sometimes when adults think they are too smart, children will teach them one or two things.

We use religion to justify many things that are wrong which we do.

It's a lazy way to avoid accountability e.g. God will do it while we fold out hands and watch. Or it not God's time when we obviously failed e.g. when funds to be invested is squandered.

I'm afraid to say, you do not know his priorities, people need money to support themselves, so being maltreated is not a form of devil worship. ? The employer is behaving ungodly its not the employee. Such mentality is very backwards for today.
i hope i won't suffer people quoting me and saying what's obvious.
Hasn't it been made clear it is maltreatment and ungodly?

I heard my brother got a job at a maintenance firm in PH. I came back for Easter and on sunday after attending holy saturday vigil mass (we are catholics), and that morning, he dressed up for service at some other church.

I asked why he was going there, and he started explaining that it was part of the job he took- the employer's wife is the owner of the church and the man makes it compulsory for every one of his employees to attend else a certain amount will be deducted from your salary. If you don't come during weekdays to cut grass and do clean-up, money will also be deducted.

I fail to understand how a human (somebody that calls himself a man of God) would violate people's freedom of religion like that all in the name of job.

The most annoying part is that he forces them to receive communion. That is particularly worrying because you don't know what really you are receiving especially since there is tattle that the man could be an Ogboni man.

The money being deducted ranges from about 5000 to 15,000 and their salary is about N50,000. If there is any donation in the church, the man deducts it from your salary.

do not compromise with these three no matter how terrible your circumstances may be
LIFE...it has no substitute
YOUR SPIRITUALITY... it has no alternative
YOUR HAPPINESS... no money can buy it.

In your brother's case, let him simply resign before you start thinking of damage control options.
So I need advice.

Nairaland has made it a habit to denigrate the Sacred Christian faith. Christians must resist the desecration of our faith in no matter for it is. lets boycott such topics and make our disgust known to Seun! #notfunny #dontjokewithChrist

Do you love your brother? If yes pls let him resign for his dear life. Similar thing happened to my sister after 6years of marriage without an issue it was revealed that her boss at work was responsible for it. Let your brother run before is too late.

I won't take that shit. It's how you see yourself other people will see you. The more shit you take from people the more shit people will give you. Your brother should not have taken the job when those conditions were offered. Well he can always resign if he cannot cope with the situation anymore.

sometimes there things you dont need to seek any advice,50.000 naira is not worth selling your destiny for,its so clear that the man doesnt belong to God becouse even God himself never forces anyone to serve Him,its a free will thing so what the hell must you entangle your destiny for nothing.

tell your bro to get in touch with a lawyer or a pressman "to harass" the pastress(without revealing his identity of course) while searching for other job

If it were my brother or me, I would ask him to quit! The boss is taking advantage of your brother in a way that could be dangerous in future. But truth is nobody listens to this kind of advice in Nigeria - so many people would prefer to eat excrement from their employer's buttocks than to quit any job they get!

This case is serious ooooooo.

I currently work in an Anglican Church. I used to be a staunch RCCG Member but my Boss at my time of employment made it mandatory that I attend the Church for no reason.

I defiled his order and only started attending the church after I relocated to a place very close to my place of work.

I'm a full blooded Anglican now and I don't think i'll leave the Church anytime soon.

My advice is "He should leave the job because of the deduction of salary that is involved, but if he loves the job__________

Pax!

I get what you're saying. It's like he's there with one leg in one leg out. He's keenly looking for another job. Hopefully he will quit soon.
Your brother will not get another job as far as he stills receive the 'communion' in his boss' church. It's a spiritual slavery. Tell him to quit that job first & reveal everything to his priest for a spiritual cleansing then immediately, he would get a better job. Pls do this, I know what I'm revealing to u. Don't try to know who I am, just do it

From the story, its obvious that job is not a blessing from God, so his life shouldn't be tied to it!

Why do Christians like puplishing stories that negatively affect their faith........? Many are called..............! Not everything that glitters..................

most one-man churches are like this.

A friend told me about Empowerment House, the owners of Kingdom Africa TV... how they are forced to attend the Church with their wives, and forced to be heads of department in the church, and how they are slave masters.
