Since your husband has a green card , it is quite easy for you to get a visiting visa, because your husband will obviously fle for you to become a PR.

2ndly' you do not have to bother paying the hospital bill But you can pay if you like(that's your decision to make)because your husband is rightly open to the any free medical as a residence.
Because your husband is a residence and will automatically become a citizen in 5years from the day he got the green card, accepting Medicaid for your baby is not a crime.
You case is quite different from every other person here.
Your husband status has covered the baby and even u.

Let the vo know that your intention is to give birth and go back home, the vo know if he/she denies you, you will probably still go to the USA legally after your husband files for you.

All, let's continue to give advice based on experience and not on speculation.

Your husband having a green card does make things a little harder. Didn't want to mention this so I don't discourage you, My husband tried a visitors visa 3 times and was denied all 3 times cos there was clearly an intent to immigrate according to the VO. And at this time all I was doing with my green card was going to give birth and the 6 month routine.

You do have to pay your bills as you are not yet a permanent resident. Even logically if you go to a hospital do the bills come out in your name or your husbands name?

And yes if you are not able to go right now, I wouldn't worry too much as your husband can still file for you all. You giving birth there would only have made the process a little faster for only your child.

And as I said everyone's case is a little different so I won't discourage you, just be ready with all your answers and pray really hard. Be careful with any responses as it concerns husband being in Nigeria and working. Everything will work out for your good.

God Bless

A thick paper with a perforated detachable part, the size of a complimentary card, with the SSN clearly written on it.

I don't think her husband being a resident improves her chances oh. I think it actually makes her look more like somebody with an immigrant intent. I would avoid mentioning anything about hubby being a resident if the VO does not bring it up because by law he is supposed to be living in the United States and not in Nigeria... That's why it is called permanent residency. He can't spend more than 6months outside the United States or he would put his green card at risk.

You may be found to have abandoned your status if you:

Move to another country, intending to live there permanently.
Remain outside of the United States for an extended period of time, unless you intended this to be a temporary absence, as shown by:
The reason for your trip;
How long you intended to be absent from the United States;
Any other circumstances of your absence; and
Any events that may have prolonged your absence.
Note: Obtaining a re-entry permit from USCIS before you leave, or a returning resident visa (SB-1) from a U.S. consulate while abroad, may assist you in showing that you intended only a temporary absence.
Fail to file income tax returns while living outside of the United States for any period.
Declare yourself a “nonimmigrant” on your U.S. tax returns etc.

That will not help her situation at all because that info is material to her application.

No, you don't need a transit visa if you are flying BA as long as you don't intend to enter the city. Once u disembark from the plane you ll see purple coloured signpost for pple with connecting flights wch ll led you to terminal 5 where BA uses.

Didn't you see in the lady post that the husband plan to go live in the USA for 6 months. He has planned to be staying for months in USA and going to Nig as well. I answer the question based on what she wrote here. She didn't not mention nothing about tax so why talk about it. People are PR and citizen here and they stay for few month especially during summer and also go back to Nig for few months. It doesn't make you an illegal as long as u haven't spent more than 6mths outside the USA. The husband should prolly know the pro and cons of his green card.
The lady has 2 choice, either wait in Nig to have the baby and the husband file for them , or go to the have the baby in USA and pay the bills if she wants.
I stand to be corrected

Depends on how tall you are. The leg room is horrible! The flight attendants are nice and jovial. But the leg room... naaa, forget about it

Depends on your pocket and stress threshold.
It's easier and more expensive to buy from Lagos to Phoenix directly via BA or KLM.

It's cheaper and more stressful to book from Lagos to NY, then take a connecting flight to Phoenix. Most local airlines (except southwestern) will charge you for your check in luggage. Usually in the range of $25 and $35 per bag. Not to talk of the wahala of changing terminals at JFK or changing airports if your local flight is from LGA.
PM me if you need assistance

I have used virgin Atlantic once tho I wasn't preggy. The space is tight especially if you are on the large side. Overall them try sha but leg space is zero. They might have upgrade recently.

@Bambini, if this will help.....on my return leg to Nigeria my UK visa already expired and I have 10hrs layover in the UK which i didnt want to spend waiting at Heathrow with my baby what I did was to approach the immigration guy and I explained that I want to go and check into an hotel and that my baby has US passport so he asked if I have a US visa I said yes, asked if I booked an hotel already said no said he will ask his superior which he didnt do at the end of the day...he filled a landing card for me and my daughter gave me a one day visa.

Don't know if that was the usual thing or God answering my prayers.....guess is the latter sha grin.
