You are right it is supposed to end on 23rd, but i think de might extend it a little cuz de started late(my own thinking) however i will suggest u call felo awardees around u to know if they are in d same position wit u, if yes no wahala, if no, den try get in touch with there own monitors, may be its an over sight... in as much as all d monitors report are important, the independent monitor is very key cuz he will be d one monitoring you on a regular basis...

The ultimate question to determine your monitors visit is when did you trigger ? Did you trigger within the first week of April (first 7 days). If you did not you will not be visited by independent monitor even if you get visited by smedan.

The list for those to be visited in April was sent to the independent monitors last week and they in turn sent out a list of documents for us to upload after which a visit was scheduled.

Visiting for April ends this week so if u triggered outside the first week of April or you plan to trigger within the first week of May then you will be visited between mid May to May 24th.

I learnt that some monitors are giving awardees terrible headache. About 4 awardees have told me their monitors are giving them headache and they didn't divert the fund. They said it appears that those SMEDAM monitors are looking for bribe. I reminded them that they warned us against giving money to any monitor. I don't know how to further advise them.
They are NOT on nairaland.
Should I advise them to report to YouWIN secretariat?
Fellow awardees especially YouWIN 1 and 2 awardees need your contribution so that I may NOT give those 4 awardees misleading advice.

Some monitors would do their normal duties as ordered by YouWiN! No problems, no headache, the monitoring would go well.

Some monitors would turn to daylight Pharaoh. They would ask of anything and everything. Don't be surprised if they ask you the last digit of the last recharge card you loaded. They may even ask you to provide photocopies of your primary school report sheet.

We don't need to be perturbed. Every monitor can't be the same.

The money spent for the services of bricklayers, carpenters, etc are not acceptable but they can see the works done already? This is serious again.

Am sure they would also want to ensure that MTN, glo, Airtel and/or Etisalat pen down their signatures on every recharge card purchased.

Bro, i doubt if they are seeking for any bribe cos they (Independent monitors) told us during the workshop that even if u give her a car gift she will report u to youwin and non of us gave them a dime.. At this point writting to secretariate might cause u some delays which may equally complicate d release of ur second tranche based on transition because those monitors are YouWin representatives, they might write trash against you.. So first of all ascertain what they really want, if its bribe then u can report them bt if its ur expenditure documents, bros abeg Present it to them.. Although my own monitors are all God fearing and sensible


Secondly, expenses like carpentry etc must be covered with "Payment Voucher" where d receiver will sign to acknowledge receipt of such payments.. That was what i personally used to cover my own expenditures that was not receipted! And my monitors were happy with my transparent records.. Tell ur friend to google Payment voucher and download a sample of it, incase he/she doesn't knw how it looks and then re-typed it with company's name.

Nothing will happen to his/her fund once he/she met her milestones and also ensures that his/her receipts are well documented! He/she must make sure that whatever reflects in his statement of acct will be d same with what the recepits and payments are saying

It can be investigated by the following way: they should check the last survey on job creation and even the trigger, they will notice those who didn't indicate job creation but now have staff appointment letter for approval.

I like your points. I just call them to tell them and they are happy.

I have done so and was told not to worry as my tranche would be released even if independent monitor does not show up. I dont know how true that will be. I've come in contact with another awardee who is supposed to have same independent monitor as me and he said he's not been contacted too. I spoke with my smedan monitor who informed me that a lot of us under him have complained so.
