Just like Britain supplied arms and ammunition to Nigeria for the Civil war and Islamic countries are funding boko haram,Norway is selling vessels to militants. Conclusion is that there is always someone willing to assist and make money off any situation.

This is one of the most painful and callous actions of the GEJ government. For a govt to willingly approve and allow militants to use such military hardware in our territorial waters, under whatever guise, while we have a functional navy,is nothing but bigotry taken to nauseating heights.
I guess those Norwegian officials involved would have either resigned, are facing prosecution,or both.
As for tompolo and his gang of touts with d clueless one at d top, judgement day awaits them soon. We cannot practically incapacitate our navy while arming a bunch of touts and thugs.

Don't worry. By the time all the GEJ's mess come to the surface, Nigerians will be glad they voted out that slowpoke out of office.

All the bogus claims of transformation are falling like a pack of cards. After 6 years, no refinery, no electricity, no jobs. Everything was a mirage. Some people had the audacity to campaign for continuity. Continuity of what?

Don't even get me started with the argument "if you child fails a class, you let him repeat" BS that TANoids were pushing to the surface.

We in Biafra Land understand that the Jihadist president and all his APC apologist priority is first to disarm us in Biafra Land, but is not gonna work, try all you can we will rather disarm the zoo military.

This Islamist brotherhood is not yet in power yet, they can not even hide their anti-Biafra policies.

At leats you have good federal roads, trains, less politic deaths and freedom to sshit from your mouth ba? Unlike 1999-2007.(ask Edris Abdulkareem aboki for that matter )What else can you ask for? If you're yet to achieve anything i can't blame you for talking then.

You don't hear the President of Indonesia complaining that drug pushers are making his country ungovernable.

He kills them with a hammer. And everyone straightens up. No blame game. No excuses.

The whole world can cry and protest but he takes a decisive action against those caught.

Presidency is not about riding in convoys and earmarking N1 billion/year for entertainment.

See this dunce! Why go and order for a ship that has been previously used for military purposes when you can easily get a civilian ship off the shelf? The intention of those that stripped off the weapons was so they could beat Norwegian laws barring the sale of military vehicles to private individuals. Their intention was to get approval for the sale of the ships and then bring them to Nigeria for rearming.
Common sense is not common at all.

Why are you going back to 1999-2007.

OBJ was very bad. GEJ promised fresh air and delivered only about 10% of his numerous promises.

We should be moving forward instead of dwelling on past that held us down.

Now GMB is promising "Change". IF he doesn't act fast enough and seems overwhelmed, we will put his a/ss on fire as well.

The most significant thing to me in this is that they publicly admitted they were wrong and they apologized.

That is very commendable.

The vessels were stripped of weapons, serviced, repainted and sold for civilian use. That means anyone who bought them for warfare purpose would need to rearm them. And by the way, have the Nigerian Maritime Agency and the Nigerian Navy not made clarifications on the matter?

Re-arming this vessels is not difficult , a couple 50cals and automatic rocket launchers .

What makes you sure these guys have not gotten missiles from SA

The Maritime Guard Command(MGC), a quasi-Coast Guard, is jointly staffed by personnel of NIMASA and elements of Nigeria’s defence and security architecture chiefly deployed on secondment, the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Marine Police, Customs Marine Unit and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The now appreciable fleet of the Maritime Guard Command includes 10-metre Boston Whaler interceptors, brand-new 18 metre patrol boats manufactured by ARESA (Spain) and a handful of larger coastal patrol craft.

However, this haul of a 2,500+ ton oceangoing patrol vessel and six 37m patrol craft represents the boldest leap forward by the Maritime Guard Command as they will now be able to step up midshore and offshore patrols in the quest to enforce maritime laws and boost security in our territorial waters. They are the largest assets in the MGC fleet.

In the light of the foregoing, it is obvious that the scare mongering occasioned by the purported acquisition of seven “BATTLESHIPS” as reported by pedestrians in Nigerian media circles amounts to a stretch. Where then are the missiles and torpedoes on the NIMASA patrol craft above, derisively labelled as Tompolo’s battleships? Yeye dey smell…

WARSHIPS BELONG TO NIMASA,NOT TOMPOLO – NN BRANCH CHIEF

WORDS ON MARBLE

“..the role of Global West in this partnership was to just “to provide the platforms, maintain them, bunker and crew them, while the military provides security. All that NIMASA officials do is jump into the boat anytime it wants to go into the waters.”

– Patrick Akpobolokemi, Director General NIMASA

As per Beegeagles blog.

IN THE BEGINNING…

At the time (October 2013) when three of the six ex-Hauk craft were inducted into Maritime Guard Command service, it was absolutely clear that they arrived our shores absolutely stripped bare of ALL weaponry. It was only after the Nigerian Navy had mounted a mixed panoply of 20mm cannons, 12.7mm HMGs and PKM GPMGs on them, as it typical for ships deployed for counterpiracy and waterways security operations, that the first three Hauk patrol craft commenced patrols on Christmas Day in 2013.

The OP is misinterpreting the article, and some people (all the people?) Are not reading i. The Apology is for selling ships that could be used in a conflict zone. In this case NIMASA or the Nigerian Navy using this ships on pirates or on insurgents. The article no where speaks that the ships were sold to insurgents, just that they could have been. Nigeria paid for these ships and they are being used by NIMASA.

Everything else is sensationalist.
