We all speak from personal experience.... Since I didn't have any clash with em, I will maintain the issue is overrated

Nothing is overrated! I've never been stopped by an cultist, but I have many friends who have had terrible ordeals with them!

My neighbor left our compound in 2013, he moved to a new house deep inside Ekosodin! But he came back to our compound this year!
When he started gisting us of how strong men bullied him enn, it was so shocking! He said they use to even wake him up by 2am to beat him! And before he left there, he had to settle all of them!

Just last month, some cult boys entered my compound to beat my neighbor, because she did not greet them! And my house is just in that line before Newton! So just imagine what will be happening in the inner parts!

Thanks a lot.

I'm working hard at drawing closer to God. That's my main focus.
Good luck with that (pardon me am not religous grin) And do not let any one influence you again in anyway be it by husbands, boy friends, love ( i know people can do despicable things in the name of llove) some thing a lot of people do not understand the real meaning of, anyway your experience says it all, you are also very intelligent and articulate put that in a good use.

Nice summary of their stupidityyy.
To even think a girl could fall in love with such purposeless people is mind boggling.

Falling in love has no set rules of engagement, we all fall in love with people we fancy and she stated clear that she was entangled with him before his sojourn into the evil domain.

When you are genuinely in love with someone , it is difficult to back down . . . . . .

Understand her position and quit all judgmental attacks . . .

Thank you . . . . .

@all(especially edo indigenes). This phenomenom is not something to be proud of. It limits productivity, hardwork, the end results are tales of woes and bloodshed (a fact every cultists knows but wont admit publicly). From my brief ten years stay in benin and the entire stay, i would deduce that a major contributing factor is the poor state of its economy.Aside from income repatriated from its citizens working and living abroad major income contributor)there are very little opportunities for its teeming and idle, harworking youths to earn a living. Despite its fertile land, abundant oil and mineral resources, its appauling that these societal menace cannot be curtailed by providing jobs for these idle minds. Please lets not glorify cultism as its a dent in the image of the black race and not something to be proud of. The young ones are coming, humanity will judge our books if we dont teach and guide them in the right path to go.

Places like Rivers , Cross River, Edo, Delta states are all infested by the deadly cult scourge . . . .

Cultism is now on the streets, as far back as 1996- 2001, Calabar in particular had secondary schools actively engaged in cult related acts. Having a gun was as easy as ABC . . .

Just 6K that time, you don get one locally made 6 rounds . . . .

Na today . . . . .

Man or woman no be the case here, I only took interest cos she/he has been very civil so far despite all unfavorable and unwarranted comments thrown at her

She might even be a male sef but I don't care . . . . .

I don't think they understand the detrimental effect of cultism and the most annoying aspect is that the elites sponsoring these gangsters parading themselves as cultists do not have their own children among these cult groups , their own kids are in the usa ,uk and in safer places . They will never allow their children to risk their lives by joining these gangs. But they sponsor these hopeless men so that they will protect their kids whenever they are around , none of these cultists will ever make it , they will be serving their sponsors interest by making sure that their sponsors children win elections and are safe .

Don't mistake her civility as indulging you, a more volatile person would have given you the merited heat your consistent jabs of her deserved . . . . .

She makes a simple post and you insinuate she is seeking for empathy , she kindly explains herself yet you still nudged her on until you both came to a conclusive end . . . . .

Who cares?

As long as after all the garagara, they still go and queue up for fuel. When they finally graduate, they carry their CVs down everywhere out of frustration like everyone else. Cult is for weak and girly men seeking protection.
It is an outcome of bandwagon effect.

There are people cult-members don't mess with. If you think you are tough, be that guy.

Interesting thread - read through from start to finish. Even if the pictures on page 1 were from an unrelated event from long ago (as some have said here), this thread has given valuable insights into Benin City/Edo state/Nigeria. It has been an education. Combine the information on this thread with the info on the Uniben/Ekosodin thread and you can paint a fairly accurate picture of things in Uniben/Benin City/Edo State.

The future looks very bleak for this country. Very bleak. undecided
